CHAPTER 89: _TILL THE CONTINENT KNOWS OUR NAMES

Kyren’s POV

*****

"Sir, I just got an update from our spies in the Lunarian palace." Farrell knocked on his room door with a somewhat excited tone.

Meanwhile, in his dimly lit room, Kyren had a man and a woman lying naked on his bed.

He’d been watching them please themselves while sipping wine from a golden goblet, but the expression on his face was one of boredom.

He’s lived for decades and during all that time, he’s frolicked with his fair share of men and women, both wolves and witches. There was almost nothing he hadn’t done when it came to sexual activities.

Except... Doing it with his mate.

"Come in, Farrell," Kyren muttered, dropping the golden goblet on a small table before him.

When his commander opened the door and stepped in, however, he almost backed out when he saw the naked people on the bed.

"Oh... I didn’t realise you were—"

"Don’t be silly," Kyren remarked, snapping his fingers. That caused the clothes of the man and woman to materialise on their bodies instantly. "They were just about to leave."

They didn’t ask any questions and got off the bed, bowing before leaving, shutting the door behind them.

Kyren sighed after their sexy butts before placing all his attention on his commander, rising from his seat with his wine.

"Well?" He queried, arching an eyebrow. "You know how much I hate suspense, Farrell. Cut to the chase."

Farrell cleared his throat, stepping closer into the room. "Well, I got information on the charms I placed in the Beta’s and Alpha Prince’s rooms. Apparently, Lucian has been apprehended for having them in his possession. Destroyed like we already know..."

He swallowed whatever more word salad he had when Kyren turned to face him, squinting like he was about to break someone. Or something.

"Rewind," Kyren muttered, tilting his head. "The Alpha Prince was behind the destruction and possession of my charms?"

Farrell nodded. "Yes, my lord. At least, that’s what the Alpha King is accusing him of. Last the spies heard, he’s going before the Alpha King to defend his case."

Kyren’s face became sullen.

By Hades’ gates...

"I need to get our hands on those charms," Kyren said with a firm tone, turning to face his balcony. "This could disrupt our plans of an alliance with Lunaria."

He could feel Farrell staring at his back when he faced the balcony but he didn’t say anything, stepping toward it.

When he got to the balcony, he made his drink disappear with a snap of his fingers before placing his hands on the railing, staring at the red sky and the sun barely peeking through it.

One person came to his mind just then.

Elian Ashford.

His mate.

"What about the omega?" Kyren asked with a purr, closing his eyes. He could almost smell him with just a breath, feeling his scent coiling around his mind.

The hold that boy had over him even from the other side of the continent... Was intoxicating.

Imagine them within the same vicinity?

His loins swelled with need at the thought while Farrell spoke up in response to his question.

"No word on him yet... But something seems to be going on within the palace."

Oh?

Kyren glanced back at his commander from over his shoulder, watching as he stepped forward holding a holographic screen.

Farrell handed the screen to him, causing him to squint his eyes as he stared at the message on it.

"Our spies were able to intercept a message from the eastern wolves council." Farrell continued, sounding hesitant.

It was like he knew Kyren wouldn’t like whatever the message was.

And he was right.

"Marriage?" Kyren scowled, arching an eyebrow. He flicked his gaze to Farrell who quickly hid his face, shivering nervously. "This has to be a joke. Lucian and Elian? My little flame?"

His eyes flared with bright red light, rage bubbling inside him. The holographic screen dissipated into tiny sparks of white light as Kyren grabbed Farrell’s collar, raising him slightly into the air.

"S–Sir..." Farrell gasped, his eyes widening with terror.

But Kyren ignored that, narrowing his gaze on him. "You have two new missions. One, make sure Lucian and Elian don’t even dream of marriage until my arrival by the next full moon. I don’t care who you have to kill or fuck. Just make it happen."

Farrell’s face paled. "B–But, sir... We’re already in a tight corner with Arcadia. Adding Lunaria to the list of enemies with this would—"

"Then you have to make sure you don’t get caught, don’t you?" Kyren snapped, his eyes dilating into slits. "Finally, get those spies to set their eyes on Elian. Whatever political storm is brewing in Lunaria, he mustn’t be affected by it."

With that said, he dropped Farrell who barely kept his footing.

His commander breathed heavily, nodding in response to all his words.

"I’ll... I’ll make sure to relay your words to the spies, my lord." He said with a shaky voice but Kyren had already turned away from him, staring down on the vast expanse of land.

Thunder rumbled in the coiling red clouds, mirroring his rage.

When Farrell scurried out of his room and closed the door behind him, Kyren decided to take one last thing into his hands.

He closed his eyes, finding traces of his magic still active in his destroyed charms.

If the Alpha King was with them, Lucian wouldn’t be the only one implicated.

Alpha King Arian might call in people from Arcadia to clarify if it was their doing and once they deny it, those damned witches could suggest holding on to the charms to track their source.

Now he couldn’t have that, could he?

Eventually, he found the traces he was searching for and held on to them tightly before crumbling the charms completely out of existence.

"Perfect." He managed a slight grin, drumming his fingers on the handrail.

As he stared down at the land below his palace, he could’ve sworn he felt a tug in the mate bond.

That tug soon became more prominent, more... Primal. His nerves shivered with desire, a scent so intoxicating he could barely contain himself hitting him hard.

It was his mate, no doubt.

"He’s going through another heat..." He remarked with a dark laugh. "Don’t worry, little flame. Once I have you you wouldn’t have to worry about your symptoms anymore. Because I’ll fuck you till the entire continent knows our names."

His grin grew wider as the lightning above rumbled even louder.
