Quite a few nurses and doctors in this small county town, they had never seen such an extraordinary and distinguished–looking man as Charles. Such people were truly rare.
As soon as Olivia stepped outside, she was swept into a tight embrace.
Sophie hugged Olivia, her eyes brimming with tears. She said, “Thank you. You came back for me.”
Olivia gently wiped away the tears at the corner of Sophie’s eyes and said softly, “Once you’re out,
you can start over.”
Sophie ced a hand on her stomach, her expression uneasy, her toes curling in her slippers. She asked, “Do I even have a chance?”
Olivia replied, “Of course. It’s never toote to start over.”
The light softened Olivia’s delicate features, making her look even gentler. A strand of hair slipped
down her forehead, and she tucked it behind her ear. She asked, “What do you want to do about the
baby?”
Sophie looked wrecked–hair falling in her face, lips pale, eyes shining with tears she refused to let fall. She tucked her shaking hands into her sleeves and said, “I don’t want it. I would never have a kid
for that bastard.”
Olivia’sshes fluttered, her clear, bright eyes meeting Sophie’s gaze. She said, “They’ve injected you. with way too many hormones, and after so many egg retrievals and surrogate pregnancies, you’re facing the risk of organ failure, ovarianplications.
“If you terminate this pregnancy, you might lose your ability to have children in the future.”
But instead of panicking, Sophie just gave a casual shrug. She replied, “So what? I’ve got my own mind, my own soul, and big ambitions. I’m bfree/b, I’m independent, and I’m going to live my own life- not the one someone else expects.
“Who says women bhave /bto have kids? I can still be true to myself without them.”

Sophie said, “When I get out, I want to be awyer. The very first case I’m going to fight is the one. from Magnolia Town.”
Olivia wrote down a prescription for her and said, “That’s a great n. Once you’ve taken care of that unwanted baby, drink this herbal remedy for two weeks. It’ll help your body heal and make things a little easier.”
Sophie gazed at her with gratitude, her eyes turning red again. She whispered, “Thank you.”
They chatted a little longer, but Sophie was so tired she could barely keep her eyes open. In the end, she reluctantly tore herself away.
After Sophie left, Olivia gave azy stretch, feeling the tension melt away.
Andrew showed up behind her out of nowhere and gently draped a ck coat over her shoulders. Hel asked. “Tired?”
“Not really,” Olivia said, grabbing the coffee from his hand, and couldn’t resist another sip. She then asked, “Where did that couple igo /i
“Gina’s already deadb, /band Donald was taken away by Charles,” Andrew replied.
Olivia pressed, “Where can I find them?”
Andrew said, “It’s my fault things didn’t go as nned. You probably won’t get to see him.”
“Why?” Olivia asked.
Andrew replied calmly, “Charles asked for Donald personally. It’s out of my hands.”
Olivia clicked her tongue in annoyance.
Andrew caught the look on her face and cocked his head, a teasing glint in his eyes. He said, “If you want to see him, it’s not impossible. Charles only listens to one person.”
Olivia said, “Do you mean Samuel?”
