Ethan thought, ‘Ms. Summers grew up in an orphanage, with no idea who her parents were- she was an orphan through and through. Could she be the missing heiress of the Summers family?‘

He quickly pulled out a photo of Samuel and held it up forparison, but honestly, he didn’t see much resemnce. He thought, ‘Maybe I am overthinking things!’

Andrew noticed Ethan’s movements and instantly understood what he meant. He leaned toward Olivia and asked in a low voice, “Ms. Summers, have you ever looked into your family background?”

Olivia caught his subtle change in attitude and knew exactly what was on his mind. Her voice was cool as she replied, “I was taken from Riverdale. I’m not the Ms. Summers you guys are talking about.”

Ethan, having his thoughts exposed, felt a little embarrassed. He scratched his head and gave Olivia an awkwardugh. He said, “You saw right through me, Ms. Summers. You’re sharp.”

To cover up his embarrassment, he quickly changed the subject. He said, “Ms. Summers, Mr. Shea could help you find your parents! I mean, everyone wants to find their roots.”

He kept talking for a while before suddenly mping up. He thought, ‘Did I just volunteer Mr. Shea for this? Am I asking for trouble or what?‘

But Andrew didn’t get mad at all. Instead, he just smiled gently at Olivia and asked, “Do you want my help?”

Olivia shook her head. She thought, ‘If I want answers, I can dig them up myself. No need to get him involved.‘

After dinner, they all headed back to the hospital.

When Olivia got to the ward, she carefully checked on Juliet. Once she was sure Juliet was out of danger, she finally let out a sigh of relief.

“Olivia, she’s gonna be alright, right?” Lucas asked.

“She’s out of danger now. As long as we take good care of her, there shouldn’t be any major problems,” Olivia replied, her voice low and cool.

Then Olivia recalled the subtle shift in Andrew’s attitude earlier. She thought, ‘With how sharp he is, he’s probably already put two and two together about who I really am.

She ordered, “Lucas, put out some info about Phantom Healer–mix up the real and the fake, just to mess with them.”

“On it,” Lucas replied. He nced at Juliet and let out a long sigh. “This girl’s been through hell,” he said. “She barely looks like herself anymore.

“When I went to pick her up, her mom didn’t even show–just left her alone in the ward, hooked up to all those tubes, and no one thought to bring her a sip of water. It was heartbreaking.

“Look what they did to her–her long hair was so beautiful, and now it’s all gone. Those people are scum. I swear, if I could, I’d make them pay.”

Olivia teased, “Since when did you get so kind–hearted?”

Lucas froze for a second and then said, “I’ve always been this nice, you know.” He wasn’t sure why, but seeing Juliet lying there in the hospital bed just made his heart ache.

He asked, “By the way, Olivia, how are you going to deal with them?”

Olivia’s smile widened, and her brows rxed. She said, “Sean will take care of it.”

Meanwhile, Sean had already slipped into the hospital’s surveince room. From the moment he got Olivia’s orders that morning, he’d been tailing the targets, lurking in the shadows and keeping tabs on everything.

Through the security feeds, he caught every second of Natalie and Fiona mocking Olivia, and he fumed.

As Sean watched Natalie and Fiona waiting by the elevator, a mischievous idea shed through his mind. He thought, “They dared to mess with Olivia–let me give them a taste of punishment.

He immediately pulled out his portable keyboard, hooked it up to theputer, and his fingers flew over the keys. In no time, he had hacked into the hospital’s system.

He took control of several elevators, making sure none of them stopped on Natalie’s floor.

Natalie, fuming, started jabbing the elevator buttons like crazy. She said, “What the hell is going on? Is this elevator possessed or something? It’s like this stupid thing has it in for me.”

Fiona, who’d weathered everything and never lost her cool, stayed perfectlyposed. She said, “Natalie, don’t get so worked up. Why waste your breath on that girl? How many people survive brain surgery?

“And you think some clueless kid could save Juliet? It’s pure fantasy. Focus on yourself–pick a killer dress and own the room at the Sheas‘ bash. For women, nding the right man is the sweetest revenge.”

Then Fiona handed Natalie a business card, grinning from ear to ear. She said, “This is from the hot new jeweler, Gemini. I hear she’s in Hirica and just finished a piece called Emerald Serenity. Word is, it already went for a crazy 25 million.

“Gemini’s quirky–she never sells; she only gifts. ims she’s waiting for the right person. You should give it a shot, Natalie. Who knows? Maybe you’re the one she’s looking for.

“Just imagine showing up at the Shea family party with that jewelry. You’d have all those rich boys falling at your feet.”

Natalie scoffed, tossing the card aside with a look of utter disdain. She said, “I don’t buy any of that. Who says a woman’s gotta get hitched?”

Fiona looked a bit miffed. She said, “Natalie, why can’t you tell when someone’s giving you good advice?”

Just then, the elevator finally showed up.

Fiona and Natalie stepped in together, both wearing stormy expressions.

As soon as they got in, Natalie felt something was off. The vibe in the elevator was weird–just chilly and kind of spooky. She kept thinking the lights looked dimmer than usual, like they weren’t even at full brightness.

Fiona grew uneasy, too, her nerves worsening by the second. Instinctively, she clung to Natalie’s arm. She stammered, “Natalie, something just feels wrong.”

“Don’t worry. Maybe the hospital’s power is just acting up or something,” Natalie said. Although she said iso/i, her nerves were shot. She thought, “This is a hospital–people die here every single day. It wouldn’t be surprising if some creepy things are lurking around.

Sure, Natalie had gone ito /imed school and studied anatomy and dissection, but as an Evans, she’d never had to dirty her hands. She’d never even touched a corpse. She wasn’t cut out for scenes like this.

    Suddenly, the elevator stopped.

Natalie nced at the floor disy–they were on basement level three.

Fiona asked, “What’s going on? Weren’t we supposed to go to the first floor?” She frantically pressed the elevator buttons, but the elevator didn’t respond at all.

Natalie said, “Either way, the elevator is useless now. Let’s just get out and see what’s going on.”

She mustered up her courage, grabbed Fiona’s arm, and headed out. She added, “We’ll just take the stairs up.”

The moment Fiona and Natalie stepped out, the elevator doors mmed shut behind them with a heavy thud.
