If Revival Grass was damaged during cultivation, it would turn red. It had no effect at all. Instead, it was actually toxic.

Henry snorted. “Ha! You can tell if it’s real just by looking at the roots? Who do you think you’re fooling, kid?”

“Yeah, like whatever you say must be true, huh? People might actually believe you’re the Phantom Healer or something,” Natalie chimed in.

After all, only Phantom Healer, who cultivated Revival Grass, could determine whether it was genuine.

“Perhaps I really am.” Olivia shrugged, acting all chill.

“Keep dreaming,” Natalie huffed, all confident. “I swear, there’s nothing wrong with this Revival Grassb.” /b

Vivian felt puzzled and asked her, “And how do you guarantee that?”

“Because I’m the Phantom Healer’s apprentice.” Natalie puffed up with pride.

She’d pulled this line on plenty of people before and figured it’d work again.

Even Henry shot her a look. “Since when did you be Phantom Healer’s apprentice? Howe I never heard about this?b” /b

“Uh… it just sorta happened. My mentor likes to keep things low–key. Told me not to talk about it. That’s why I never said anything,” she mumbled.

Natalie shot a re at Olivia, not even trying to hide her disgust. “If it were not for someone iming that the Revival Grass was fake, I would never have revealed my identity.”

After a brief consideration, Henry immediately stated, “Mr. Shea, I’ll put the Evans family name on the line- this Revival Grass is totally legit.”

He grabbed Natalie, speaking even louder. “And my niece trains with the Phantom Healer. If she says it’s good, it’s good.”

‘Phantom Healer’s apprentice? Seriously?‘ everyone thought and stared at Natalie, startled. For a second, Henry’s words had the whole room buying it.

All at once, everyone began to trust Natalie, praising her as young and aplished.

“Ms. Evans bis /breally something! Bing Phantom Healer’s apprentice at her age–she’s got a crazy bright future,” someone eximed.

“Looks like the Evans family is about to level up in the medical world,” another one said.

Not everybody bought it, though–some folks had doubts.

“But isn’t Phantom Healer supposed to be super mysterious? Never heard of them taking any apprenticesb,/bb” /b

“Yeah, plus, Ms. Evans didn’t even grow this Revival Grass. Why should we take her word for it?” another one asked.

Olivia just stared at Natalie, trying not tough. She thought, ‘Wow. Setting herself up with that fake identity, huh? Bet she’s been milking the Phantom Healer name for all it’s worth.’

She wasn’t about to out herself as the real Phantom Healer–she’d never get a moment’s peace. But she sure as hell wasn’t letting Natalie drag her name through the mud either.

After thinking it over, she figured Lucas was the best one to expose Natalie. She shot him a look.

Lucas caught her hint and started slow–pping. “Wow, Phantom Healer’s apprentice. Brilliant!”

Lucas lounged around, hands in his pockets, looking all chill. “Hey, you guys all heard about Phantom Healer performing surgery at my family’s hospital, right?”

That was all over the news, with photos of the crowd and everything, which further substantiated the authenticity of Phantom Healer’s identity.

But after the surgery, Phantom Healer bailed and didn’t let anyone see their face.

The mere appearance of Phantom Healer caused the Grant family’s stock to rise for a week straight. It was evident how influential the Phantom Healer was.

That made Winston pause for a sec. He thought, ‘Yeah. My grandson was there too. Never saw Phantom Healer though…

“So, you met Phantom Healer?” Vivian fixed her gaze on Lucas.

Everyone turned to Lucas, eager for the answer.

“Yup.” Lucas tossed down his fork and wiped his hands. “I was there for the surgery. Saw Phantom Healer myself. And guess what? Ms. Evans was there too.”

With that, he raised his eyebrows and shot Natalie a sly grin. “Right, ‘Phantom Healer’s apprentice‘?”

Natalie clenched her teeth and gave a firm nod. She thought, ‘How could I have forgotten Lucas? He certainly knows the facts. If by any chance he reveals the truth, my lie will be exposed immediately.’

“Ms. Evans was actually crying at the operating room door, begging me to get her in, just so she could work with Phantom Healer,” Lucas smirked. He nced at the messages he had received, his graceful chin lifting slightly.

He asked, “Tell me–if you really were Phantom Healer’s apprentice, why’d you need to beg me to get you in?

“If you’re really Phantom Healer’s apprentice, would you have been locked out? Only one answer: you’re lying.”

Lucas’s voice was exceptionally loud, echoing throughout the entire hall.

“Don’t you twist this! You’re the one who stopped me from seeing my mentor.” Natalie backed away, voice shaking.

“Shameless.” Lucas gave her a look of disgust and flipped his phone around. “Maybe this’ll jog your memory.”

On the screen, Natalie was straight–up begging Lucas to let her in, looking totally desperate. Now it was obvious who was lying.

“I even asked Phantom Healer straight–up–she said she never takes students,” Lucas added.

He rested one hand on the table, leaning forward slightly. A provocative glint shone in his eyes, and his smile carried a hint of roguishness without detracting from his charm, making his presence impossible to ignore.

“And she’d never let some liar be her student,” Lucas smirked. “Ms. Evans, Phantom Healer wanted me to pass a message to you. Bad karma always catches up.” He shot her a nasty re.

Natalie took in every nuance of Lucas’s expression, feeling a slight twinge in her heart. She wondered, ‘Do I really seem so pathetic in his eyes?‘

At this point, the crowd finally figured out what was going on and started giving Natalie the side–eye.

Someone said, “I believe Mr. Grant is right. Phantom Healer would not take on students so easily. Can’t believe everything she says.”

Another said, “Mr. Grant has met Phantom Healer. If he says it’s not true, it’s not true.”

“Just look at her face–she knows she’s been exposed,” someone whispered.

No one needed to say more–Natalie had been totally busted for pretending to be Phantom Healer’s student.

Cheryl just frowned the whole time, wondering, ‘This isn’t how I thought things would go…‘

In Cheryl’s n, no matter what, being linked to Phantom Healer should’ve boosted the Evans family.

Henry’s face was a storm cloud. He thought, ‘Didn’t even get any mileage out of that Phantom Healer student scam before it all blew up. Natalie is just useless. But… can’t throw in the towel yet.
