But everyone in the room was coldly watching ine, and no one spoke a word.

Olivia pinched harder. She had never liked ine to begin with, and this was a good opportunity for a small revenge.
“Charles, save me,” ine, in pain and contorted, pleaded with Charles.
Although Charles didn’t like her, he had to maintain a surface rtionship and gently reminded Olivia, “Ms. Summers, let her go.”
Olivia would naturally listen to Charles, as she still had things to ask of him.
“Ah-“ine fell backward due to the sudden release and inertia.
“Charles, look at what she did-” ineined with a sense of grievance.
“How many times have I told you? We’re not that close. Don’t call me Charles.” Charles’s voice betrayed a hint of impatience. “And who said you coulde here?”
He had never liked ine and would never acknowledge her as his sister.
Charles had only one sister.
ine bit her lip, her eyes slightly red. “Dad is a bit busy and asked me toe see Grandpa on his behalf. Also, to bring you guys back-*
“What kind of dad is he?” Howard red at ine, as if there was fire burning in his eyes. “I’m telling you for thest time. He’s only your dad. Don’te here pretending to be rted to us.b” /b
Ever since Howard could remember, this so–called dad of theirs seemed to have forgotten about Ivy, always doting on that adopted daughter and even trying to put her in the family register.
In that man’s eyes, the rest of the brothers seemed not to exist.
For over a decade, that man had never cared about them. Sending ine here now surely didn’t have good intentions.
Howard didn’t like that man and certainly wouldn’t like ine.
“Get out. Get out of here.” Howard’s eyes were bloodshot, and he had bitten his lower lip so hard it left a mark. “Don’t make me throw you out.”
Charles knew Howard’s temper and immediately stepped in front of him, looking at ine coldly. “You should leave. You’re not wee here.”
ine looked up at Samuel with a pitiful expression. “Grandpa-b” /b
‘Dad sent me here to win Grandpa’s favor. I can’t leave without achieving something,‘ ine thought to herself.
Samuel, enduring the difort in his neck, stared at ine coldly. “Tell your father I’m fine. Go back. I don’t want to bsee /byou.”
David had an idea. “This is a good time to tell Mr. Summers about what just happened,‘ he thought.
David leaned in close to Samuel and whispered, “Just now-”

After hearing it, Samuel’s gaze toward ine grew even colder, as if it held a hidden de.

“Go back to your good friend,” Samuel was clearly upset. “Dr. Summers is my distinguished guest. Bullying her is the same bas /bbullying me. Make sure you tell them that.”
ine bit her lip, unable to utter a word.
David had told Samuel after all.
ine was already not favored in the Summers family, and now she was even less so.
“ine, please,” David opened the door, putting on a business–like expression.
‘I certainly won’t call her Ms. Summers. The Summers family has only one daughter,‘ David thought to himself.
ine knew she couldn’t stay here any longer. She got up, bowed to Samuel, and slowly walked out.
She took a deep breath and encouraged herself. ‘One day, I will be the legitimate heiress of the Summers family, she thought.
Samuel coughed a few times, posed himself, and looked at Olivia. “Sorry, I’ve made a fool of myself in front of you.”
“It’s okay.” Olivia shook her head and carefully supported his head. “Be careful.”
Charles, seeing the blood increasing, became worried. “Ms. Summers, is this really going to be alright?”
Grandpa is, after all, quite elderly. Everything has to be done with great care.
A moment’s inattention could lead to serious consequences.
Before Olivia could speak, Samuel chuckled reassuringly. “It’s fine. I trust Dr. Summers. Nothing will go wrong. If anything does happen, it’s because my health is failing, not because of Dr. Summers‘ medical skills.”
A warm current surged through Olivia’s heart. ‘His words sound like a grandfatherforting his granddaughter,‘ she thought to herself.
Olivia lowered her eyes, her gaze soft. “Don’t worry. Everything will be fine.”
“It’s just releasing some toxic blood,” Olivia said as she pulled out the long needle and wiped away the blood.
In an instant, the bleeding stopped, leaving only a small puncture mark.
As soon as Olivia’s hand left, Samuel felt refreshed and invigorated.
The soreness he had felt in his body over the past few days was gone, and he even felt a bit lightheaded from the relief.
Olivia packed up her things and advised, “You really need to replenish your nutrients. When a person is too weak, their limbs can experience numbness. The limbs are farther from the heart and don’t get nourished as easily, which leads to the sensation of numbnessb. /b
“I got a prescription. For replenishing blood, you typically use the medicine on the left, and for replenishing breath, you need the medicine on the right.
“When breath flows, blood flows. Blood is a yin substance, inherently inclined to be still. Its movement relies on the propulsion of breath. Both are very important.”

She added, “These medicines can both replenish energy and strengthen the spleen. The spleen and stomach are the sources of transformation and transportation. When your energy is sufficient, it can ward off harmful energies, and you’ll be able to withstand minor illnesses.”
As she spoke, Olivia wrote down the names of the herbs she had mentioned and handed the list to David. “You can add some of these to your water or soup. Medicinal diets are the most nourishing.”
After speaking for so long, Olivia felt a bit thirsty and took a few sips of water from the ss on the table.
“Also, you should exercise moderately. Doing morning exercises is a great idea,” Olivia added.
Samuel nodded, curious. “Dr. Summers, that acupuncture was really powerful. After just one needle, I feel like I’m all better.”
“It was just a single needle to detoxify, to expel the toxic blood from your body. Normally, it should be a gradual process.
“But since you’re heading back to Kingtonelle soon, we had to use this method,” Olivia exined, taking another sip of water and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, revealing the purple rose–shaped birthmark.
Howard, standing behind Olivia, saw this rose–like birthmark.
Ivy also had a birthmark of the same shape.
He truly felt that Olivia was his sister.
‘But Grandpa and Charles both say she’s not, and even Olivia herself says she’s not. What could have gone wrong here? Could it be amnesia? A car ident?‘ Howard wondered.
Howard loved watching soap operas, and his mind quickly came up with many dramatic scenarios.
‘No, my brothers and Grandpa have waited for Ivy for too long. I can’t make a fuss without being absolutely sure, Howard thought to himself.
Suppressing his excitement, Howard asked Olivia softly, “Dr. Summers, do you like sweetsb?/b”
His voice bwas /bweak and unsteady, revealing his inner turmoil and anxiety.
Although Olivia didn’t know why he was asking, she answered truthfully out of politeness. “Yes, I do.”
