Compared to Stanley, Victor was much moreposed. He had started his career as a military officer, but after being injured and unable to remain in the army, he transitioned to a civilian administrative path.

His advancement was smooth. Naturally, there were petty people causing trouble, and someone used underhanded means to have him assigned to Hirica. Still, he was not upset–after all, serving the people was the same no matter where he worked.

But Victor had not expected to encounter such an incident immediately upon arriving in Hirica. However, he was also quite interested in what would happen next.

Hisposure stems from his status; that was the source of his assurance.

Olivia’sposure took Victor by surprise. Olivia was unconcerned by these matters, instead finding them very interesting, and the smile on her face never left. fne9d0 Th?s chapter is updated by find{n}ovel/fne9d0

“That’s fine. I’ve never been to a police station before.” Olivia nced sideways at Nina, signaling her not to worry, and then followed them into the car.

Seeing that several of them were being taken away, Nina grew somewhat anxious and held Grace’s hand. “Grandma Grace, Olivia should be all right, shouldn’t she?”

Nina was, after all, still young. Her emotions were written inly on her face. Upon hearing that she was being taken to the police station, she felt even more uncertain.

Grace patted her hand gently and reassured her in a soft voice. “Don’t worry. Olivia knows what she’s doing. If she had the nerve to tie this knot, she could figure out how to untie it.”

If she could rescue an entire vige of trapped girls at the age of four, she could definitely handle this group

now.

Nina furrowed her brow and suddenly thought of something. “I’ve got it. I have a solution,‘ she said. As she spoke, Nina gathered a few belongings and exited through another door.

“Nina.” Grace stood alone in the courtyard and let out a long sigh.

Crouching outside, Fiona could not conceal the smile on her face when she saw the group being escorted out. “You little brat, just you wait,” she said.

She could never have imagined that, apart from Olivia, among those taken into the car were also a department–level official and the future municipal party secretary.

At the police station, as soon as Stanley entered, he put on a stern expression and said, “Call your director here.”

He was such a high–ranking official. Having been inexplicably brought to the police station, he couldn’t possibly be expected to show a pleasant face.

Boris Smith, seeing his appearance, didn’t think of him as any kind of leader. He kept his legs crossed, sipping coffee, and said, “Have a seat over there. You think you can just meet our chief?”

He really did receive orders from above to give Olivia a good lesson. But he really didn’t expect there would also be two men.

“Is that any way to speak?” Stanley got angry.

“This is the police station, not your own home?” Boris officer cast a cold nce at them, his gaze settling on Olivia. “Are you the one who was reported?”

“It’s me.” Olivia’s voice was clear and smooth. “Why do you make statements without even bringing a pen?”

Boris sat there, initiating the interrogation without holding anything in his hands.

“What do you think you are? You even dare to interfere with how I take statements?” Boris mmed his hand on the table. “You disrupted thework environment. Do I even need to take a statement from you?”

Olivia gave a derisiveugh. “So this is enough to convict me?”

“That’s because youmitted a crime,” Boris said smugly, tossing a piece of paper to her. “All right, since you’re still young, you’ll just be fined 30 thousand and detained for a month. When you get out, remember to be a good person.”

The higher–ups had ordered her to be detained for a month and to leave a record. By the time she was released, the issue would have been resolved.
