“She’s not going anywhere,” a powerful voice dered from the hallway. The ssroom door was thrown

open.

An older man in a sharp, expensive suit strode in. Age had lined his face, but his posture was straight and his eyes were electric with intelligence.

It was Troy. As the co–founder of the program, he had decided to stop by on the first day. He’d partnered with Hirica Central High School to create a ce where kids could get the edge they needed to excel.

He was also here on a personal mission from Grace: to keep an eye on Olivia. He’d just arrived and was looking for her when he saw the same fascinating girl from the Shea family’s party, currently in a standoff with the teacher.

Troy was just in time to hear Hallie tell the girl to leave. A shock went through him.

‘Is this woman insane?‘ he thought. ‘That girl is a genius. Her skills are already good enough for a special early admission to Kingtonelle University’s medical program. And this teacher is trying to kick her out?‘

The blood drained from Hallie’s face. She might have contempt for her students, but the ckwell family was on another level entirely. They were gods in her world.

The ckwells were giants in the education world, not just in Hirica but across the entire country of Clusia. Pissing them off was career suicide.

Hallie scrambled to smooth over her panicked expression and hurried toward him, forcing a smile. “Mr. ckwell. What an honor. I wasn’t expecting you today.”

Troy looked right past her as if she were a piece of furniture. His sharp gaze swept over the students. “I’m looking for Olivia Summers,” he said.

Grace had told him all about Olivia, a young girl with medical knowledge far beyond her years. She was destined to be a world–famous doctor. The description alone had captured Troy’s interest.

“Looking for me?” Olivia asked, one eyebrow raised.

Troy stared at her, pletely thrown. ‘Her?‘ he wondered, his mind reeling. “This is Olivia? Grace’s granddaughter?‘

It took a second for the pieces to click together. ‘Of course,‘ he thought, a slow realization dawning on him. ‘It had to be her. A girl that young with that much talent… Who else but Grace could produce someone so remarkable?‘

Halliepletely misread the situation. She assumed Troy was here to back her up, and her arrogance surged back. She red at Olivia and snapped, “Are you still here? Stop being an eyesore and get out. You’re bothering Mr. ckwell.”

After all, the ckwell family paid her a fortune. In her mind, that meant they were on her side.

Olivia’s eyes flicked between Hallie and Troy, her mouth set in a grim line. “Are you on the same side?”

Hallie lifted her chin proudly. “Of course we-”

“Of course not,” Troy snapped, cutting her off. He turned a warm, fatherly smile on Olivia. “I’m on your side.

He guided Olivia toward a seat, speaking to her in a low, gentle voice. “Olivia, your grandmother and I go way back. The doors to this program will always be open for you. You are wee here anytime-b” /b

Hallie couldn’t stand it. She interrupted, her voice high and strained. “Mr. ckwell, you don’t understand what she’s done. This girl has no respect.

“She waste, she was rude, and she doesn’t even have a high school diploma. She will destroy the elite reputation we have worked so hard to build.”

“And what’s wrong with Olivia wanting an education?” Troy gave Hallie a cold stare. “Is that all you care about? Reputation? Your job is to teach, not protect your image.” fn503c The source of th?s content is f?ndnovel/fn503c

“And you would crucify a student for being stuck in traffic? Where is your decency, Ms. Brown?”
