Once a Nobody. Now A Queen

“If you’re going to arrest someone over this, then you might as well arrest all of us.”
Almost every household in Magnolia Town was involved in these things–some handled the scams, others did the dirty work.
Many even sent their daughters off for egg donation or surrogacy once they reached a certain age. The whole town wasplicit.
If the police really wanted to be strict about it, all of them should be sent to prison.
Richard had a pounding headache. He knew there was no reasoning with these townsfolk.
This also involved the Evans family. He really had to think carefully about how to deal with them.
At this point, Richard could only pin his hopes on Edward. One word from him could decide the fate of the entire Magnolia Town.
“Mr. Monroe, maybe you could let this one slide? Just drop it?” he asked tentatively.
Edward’s face was deathly pale, but his words were sharp and clear. “Drop it? If we let them go, who’s going to give justice to the girls they hurt?”
Richard wanted to plead again, but the townsfolk around them suddenly grew agitated, trying to
close in on Edward.
“So what, just because he’s some rich guy from Kingtonelle, he can push us old locals around?”
“Let them go? Why should we? There’s so many of us–taking them down would be nothing.”
“Anyone who dares touch Paul today is going against all of Magnolia Town!”
Supporting Edward, Helen had never seen such a scene before. She gritted her teeth. “Idiots! Can’t you even tell right from wrong?”
But the townsfolk didn’t care what she said–their arrogance only grew.
Olivia was unusually calm. She leaned close to Edward and asked, “Can you still walk?”
“Not dying yet.” Edward coughed lightly, then warned her, “No matter what, you can’ty a hand on
them.”
Olivia nodded, then tilted her head slightly to the left. “Three miles bthat /bway, my sidekicks are waiting. Take Ang and Helen and go.”

She had already arranged for a few members of the Shadow Security Division to wait there.
That note she gave Sean before leaving Hirica hadn’t been for nothing.
The Shadow Security Division was an assassination unit under Shadow Point, operating strictly from the shadows. Not even the Clusian central government could touch them.
And Olivia was their sole leader.
“Let’s do this. It’s been forever since we had a real fight.” A little boy with green hair was bursting with excitement.
He wore a baggy hip–hop outfit, colorful stickers on his face, a heavy sword in one hand, and a telescope in the other as he surveyed the scene.
Since Olivia rarely let theme out to have fun, he nned to make the most of it.
“Olivia has her own n.” A high–ponytailed woman gave him a cold look as she wiped her dagger, shooting a disdainful nce down the hill.
“Those men actually dare look at Olivia like that,” she said. “I’m going to dig their eyeballs out.”
“Come on. If we don’t make a move now, then when?” The boy was itching to jump in.
“No.” Her eyes stayed calm. “Wait for Olivia’s order.”
Olivia had said that unless it was absolutely necessary, the Shadow Security Division must never appear in front of ordinary people.
The boy pointed at Andrew and the others, looking puzzled. “Are these guys Olivia’s recruits?”
The woman shook her head without answering. She hadn’t heard anything about Olivia having extral help.
“Does Olivia not trust me that much, bthat /bshe went and found other people?” The boy crossed his arms, puffed his cheeks, and was about to run over to help.
The woman grabbed him by the cor, stopping him. “Watch and wait.”
The boy grew even more upset, plopping down on the ground with a stormy face.
