Even when Olivia returned to the vige, no memories surfaced. It felt as though those years had. been forcibly ripped from her mind. Still, she was certain she wasn’t Ivy–after all, she looked nothing like Samuel or Charles.
With her mind a total nk, the only way to reim her past was to pry the truth from Gina and the
others.
Andrew watched Edward, his emotions in a tangled mess, a strange anger simmering inside him. He thought, “Why wasn’t it me Olivia saved? Why does she keep staring at him? Is he really that good- looking? No way he looks better than me.‘
Ethan moved fast, and in just a few minutes, he brought the couple over. He stepped up to Andrew and reported, “Mr. Shea, they’re here. The woman didn’t make it–only the man and the kid are still alive.”
Ang, who had been following Olivia, was still in a daze. So much had happened in just a few hours that she could hardly believe it was all over. She gently nudged Olivia and asked, “Miss, can I really go
home now?”
She was afraid her parents would turn their backs on her, afraid she wouldn’t be able to start over.
She said, “My body is ruined. Going back would only be a burden to them. And my boyfriend probably
won’t want me anymore.”
Ang came from a happy family, with parents who loved each other dearly. After the SAT, she got together with her first love, and it wouldn’t be long before they started talking about marriage.
If none of this had happened, her life would have been easy, happy, and worry–free. So she was truly
sacred.
Olivia held Ang’s bhand /band said, “They’re all waiting for you. Because they love you.”
Just then, Andrew walked over and showed Ang his tablet. He said, “Your boyfriend has been bturning /bthe world upside down looking for you. And your parents bquit /btheir jobs and have been asking everyone they bcan /bfor news about you.
“They haven’t stopped looking for you, not even for a single day, these past three months.”
Ang’s hand trembled as she reached out, but she just couldn’t bring herself to touch the screen, bfear /band longing tangled in her heart.
The table showed a photo. And in the photo, Ang’s parents looked exhausted and disheveledb, /b

clutching Ang’s picture as they searched everywhere for news, rain or shine, never giving up, not matter how rough things got.
Ang choked out, “They were college professors.”
Her once dignified parents had gone through so much for my sake. And her boyfriend, right when hist career was taking off, had quit his job just to look for her.
She couldn’t hold it in anymore, hugging the tablet as she broke down in tears. She choked out, “I
miss them all so much.”
Olivia patted her shoulder gently and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. She said softly, “Go home–love will give you the courage to face anything.”
Then she turned and locked eyes with Andrew. She thought, ‘He really came prepared.’
Andrew grinned at her, as if to say, “Thanks for thepliment.”
Honestly, pared to Olivia charging into that hellhole all by herself, Andrew had everything
covered.
Andrew asked, “Olivia, can I make a suggestion?”
Olivia ran her fingers through her hair, ncing sideways at him. She asked, “What is it?”
Andrew replied, “Next time you’re about to do something this dangerous, let me know first, so I can brace myself.”
Olivia cocked her head, her eyes zing. She asked, “Didn’t I already tell you?”
Andrew was the only one Olivia had ever told about the MysticHealer ount.
After a long moment, Andrew heaved a deep sigh, then lowered his head and gave a soft chuckle. He said, “Yeah, bguess /bI’m just not clever enough to read you like a book.”
When he learned she was putting herself on the line, he had faith in her, but he couldn’t help but
