CHAPTER 49: DEAL (2)

Then Adam came to know that there were three owners of that land. The land was very big. And so the land was divided into three parts. Each of the three had one-third of the land.

Then Adam searched for all three owners. He clicked on the ’Service’ section of the app. He used the ’Track’ service. With the help of which Adam could find any person.

He knew it was an invasion of privacy. He knew it was a dangerous power. But he did not care. He had to pay its price one hundred million dollars per person. But it was a small price to pay for the information he needed.

Adam found all three owners. The app gave them generic names. Landowner Number 1 Landowner Number 2 and Landowner Number 3.

Adam got a complete report file with all the information about these three men. The report told him everything about them. Their financial status their family problems their hopes their fears.

Adam saw that all three of them had been trying to sell their land for a long time. They were desperate. The price of land in that area was not increasing.

Due to government corruption the water level in that area was also going down a lot. And the land that was once fertile had also become much less so. It was almost barren now. That’s why the land that was once used for farming was now just lying there useless.

That’s why all three of them and in fact most of the people in that area wanted to sell their land. They were all moving to the nearby city Solo City to find new work.

When Adam saw this information his first problem was solved. The owners wanted to sell. He would not have to force them.

Adam saw in the report of that service that the combined base price of all three properties was 7 million dollars. The whole land was 15 bighas. Adam’s face lit up after reading all these details. It was a bargain. A steal.

Adam knew that although corruption was very widespread in his entire country he could also take advantage of it. He could use the system to his own benefit.

Adam went to the ’Recruit’ app again. There he searched by entering a new prompt. He typed: ’A corrupt but efficient government person in Solo City who can help me in taking this land and also in creating a new official record that the owner is Adam. The work should be done quietly. And the work should be done as soon as possible.’

"And along with that he should be able to get me the permits to set up an oil well there," Adam added to the prompt. He entered all these details into the input box of the recruit app. After a moment his screen changed. And he found the man he was looking for.

The app actually gave him three men. All three of them had different ratings. The rating system meant that the one with the highest rating was the most effective for Adam’s task.

Adam clicked on the one at the top. His rating was 4.5 out of 5. Adam got a detailed description.

’This is government official number 1. And his rating is 4.5. He is very corrupt. But he has contacts everywhere. He can get anything done. Because of which he can do the host’s work in just one day. And his price is almost 25% of whatever the land is sold for. And along with that an interest of 5% of all future profits from that land’.

Adam was very surprised to see this. He thought When people say that there is a lot of corruption here I was just thinking it was an exaggeration. But this is really a lot of corruption.

Adam kept the report on this official with him. He had decided that he would use this government official number 1. He was expensive. But he was efficient. And right now efficiency was more important than money.

Just then Adam had only one last task left for this initial stage of his plan. He again started filling in all his necessary requirements in the input box inside the recruit app. Adam specified that he needed a company that could quickly install an oil well on his land and start extracting oil from there.

The name of a company appeared in front of Adam. Its name was ’Everywhere Oil’. Adam read the description of that company. In which it was written that this company provides oil well machines and equipment. They also handle the installation and the initial operation. They were a one-stop solution for anyone who wanted to get into the oil business.

Adam had now gathered all the necessary information. He had the information on the landowners. He had the information on the corrupt official. He had the information on the oil company. He had already prepared a complete report on all of them during his train ride home. He had compiled everything into a neat and organized file on his phone. He was ready.

He looked up at Kim. "Here," he said. "This is everything you need." He transferred all the files to Kim’s phone. "These are all the reports. The contact information. The plan. Everything."

Kim was very surprised. He stared at the numerous files that had just appeared on his phone. "What is this?" he asked

"This is all the information that will be very helpful to you," Adam said his voice calm and steady.

"It has everything you need to know about the landowners the government official and the oil company. You have to meet all these people. And finally you will go to this company Everywhere Oil. They will be the ones to explore oil for us."

"But how are you so sure that there is definitely oil there?" the manager asked his brow furrowed with doubt. "If there is such a big reserve shouldn’t other people know about it?"

Adam just looked at the manager. His expression was unreadable. "You have to trust me Kim," he said his voice firm. There was a power in his words that left no room for argument.

The manager let out a deep sigh. He knew he had no other choice.

Adam went a short distance away to the corner of his small apartment.

He pulled out a large black duffel bag from under his bed. It was a very heavy bag. He struggled a little to lift it. He put it on the coffee table with a loud thud.

The manager was very surprised to see this bag. "Open it and see," Adam said.
