CHAPTER 60: FIRST DAY (2)

At the same time Andrew was also reading some papers in his hand.

After listening to Andrew Smith became thoughtful. But before he could say anything Andrew spoke again.

Hearing this Smith got very surprised. He immediately stood up from his chair. "What are you saying?" he asked.

Then Andrew said that Adam had sent him somewhere else. "And I am leaving tonight," he said.

"But don’t worry. I will keep fulfilling the shortages of your people." He knew that Smith was a genius.

But he also knew that he was just a kid. He would need support. And Andrew would provide that help. No matter where he was.

Smith remembered the words Adam had said. I will handle the money you handle the execution.

He thought I will have to bear all this work alone now.

The thought was a little daunting.

But then he looked out at the security camera monitors. He saw the remaining customers outside the bank their faces full of hope and anticipation.

And a smile came on his face.

He looked at Andrew. His expression was now full of confidence.

"Okay then," he said. "You can go comfortably. And you just wait for me.

By the time you come back I will have expanded this business all over this city." It was a bold promise.

Andrew just smiled. He knew the boy was capable of great things. He started to leave from there.

But just as he reached the door he looked back at Smith. "Don’t forget you have school tomorrow," he said with a small grin. "You should go home now."

All the staff members who were still in the office overheard this.

They all looked towards Smith with surprised expressions. They did not know that their brilliant and ruthless new CEO was still a high school student.

Saying this Andrew left from there. He had some papers in his hand. They were the files of the rest of the people whom he had interviewed for jobs in the bank but had not yet hired.

He was going to call all of them on his way to Solo City. He was going to invite all of them to join the Shining Star Bank. Andrew knew that Smith had a lot of capability.

But he would still need a lot of help. And in any case their first day of operation had been an unexpected and overwhelming success. Which was what Andrew was going to tell Adam right now.

In the same moment Andrew was seen standing outside Adam’s apartment building. He went up to the second floor and knocked on Adam’s door.

Shortly after Adam opened his apartment door. He was wearing his usual simple clothes. He was surprised to see Andrew. "I sent you with Maria to Solo City," he said his voice a little confused. "What are you doing here?"

Andrew just smiled his tired smile. "Won’t you call me in first?" he asked.

Adam opened his gate completely to let him in. As Andrew went inside Adam’s small apartment he saw that the manager Kim was already there. He was sitting on the floor surrounded by a mountain of paperwork.

He was drinking coffee and working intensely. The small apartment had become the unofficial headquarters of their new and rapidly growing empire.

And it was a chaotic and exciting place to be. The air was thick with the smell of coffee. The three of them were together again.

The manager Kim’s eyes fell on Andrew as he entered the small apartment.

He smiled genuinely happy smile.

"You have come at a very good time," he said his voice filled with a renewed energy. "Tell me as soon as possible how was bank first day? How did it go?"

Adam also closed the door behind Andrew and came inside. He sat down on the floor next to his low coffee table which was now covered with a mountain of documents.

Adam was also doing some paperwork.

He was reviewing the initial reports of his own operation. He also looked up at Andrew with a keen anticipation in his eyes.

Andrew took out a stack of paperwork from his messenger bag. He put it on the table with a loud thud. It was a daunting pile of documents.

Both Adam and the manager came forward to look at it.

They both picked up different papers from the top of the stack. As they started to read their eyes widened in disbelief. Kim the manager was the first to speak.

He stuttered a little as he asked "Is this correct? Are these numbers real?"

Andrew just looked at both of them and smiled a proud smile. "On the first day we had so much crowd that there was a lot of pressure on our staff members," he said.

"The lines were so long they were blocking the street. That is why I had to send all the extra staff inside the bank. The ones I had on standby. Although the cost of that is separate. We will have to pay them for the day’s work." Saying this he looked towards Adam.

Adam just waved his hand dismissively.

He indicated that Andrew should not worry about such a trivial thing.

Money was no object. Andrew also just shook his head understandingly. He don’t knew that their director had an endless supply of it.

Then Andrew’s expression became a little more serious. He said again "Our initial marketing push has been very successful.
