CHAPTER 69: MEETING

He used the app’s service option. He placed surveillance on Ace. He did not watch the live feed. He did not need to. He requested a report of Ace’s activities from the past week. A report downloaded to Adam’s mobile phone. He paid the service fee.

He opened the report.

He started reading about everything Ace had done from morning until evening. Then he understood what had happened. Adam read the report. It was all there. When Manager Kim contacted the brokerage firm he did not meet with Ace. He met with another man.

That man was Ace’s friend. Because of this friendship Ace found out about the deal.

He acted alone.

Ace met with Manager Kim without telling anyone. He used the name of the second party. He demanded one hundred million dollars. Now Adam understood the whole situation. He understood the whole matter. But Adam could not deal with this matter publicly. He had to find another way.

Then an idea came to his mind.

He immediately called the manager.

Manager Kim had been waiting for Adam’s call for a long time. He was worried. He thought their whole business was about to be destroyed. If they did not pay the money.

He was expecting some unique action from Adam. The kind of action he always took. When the manager saw Adam’s call he picked it up immediately.

He spoke with a worried voice. "What have you decided? What should we do?"

Adam’s voice was calm. "Contact the brokerage firm now," he said. "Tell them we are very dissatisfied with them. Ask them how they leaked their customer’s details. Threaten them as much as possible."

The manager was a little surprised to hear this. He spoke with a lot of worry.

"But what about the other political party?"

Adam’s voice was very calm. "He is not connected to any political party. He just wants all the money for himself. But he can still harm us. If he goes public. If he talks about you or this payment. That is why we must inform the firm now. It is their responsibility. This whole transaction must be kept clean."

After hearing Adam’s words the manager understood. He understood what Adam wanted to say.

He nodded his head decisively.

"Okay," he said. "I will do it now."

The manager hung up the phone after agreeing with Adam. He had his orders.

Adam immediately went back to his One-Click app. He put a spy on Manager Kim. He wanted to see how this played out.

After hanging up with Adam the manager immediately called the broker. He used the number Adam had given him. This was the broker whose friend Ace had threatened the manager.

The moment the broker picked up the phone the manager exploded in a rage. "If you did not want the money you should have just said no!" he shouted. "We heard that you always keep your client’s information secret!"

Hearing this the broker started to sweat. His voice became very polite very quickly. "Sir please tell me what the problem is. Why are you so angry?" The manager snapped back

"You leaked my information! Right after our transaction I was met by another broker. He is demanding I fund the opposition political party." Hearing this the broker started to get very scared.

He said "Sir please tell me exactly who it was." The manager described Ace perfectly. The broker’s blood ran cold. He knew exactly who it was.

The broker’s voice became very calm and reassuring. "Sir you are our client. We stand by our word. No information about our clients will ever go public. That is why I assure you. Ignore whatever threat you received. We will not let you have any trouble in this matter. As for that broker we will deal with him ourselves. We will not let any trouble come to you." Saying this the broker hung up the phone. The manager immediately called Adam back to tell him everything.

The scene shifts.

As soon as the broker found out what Ace had done pure anger appeared on his face. He stood up immediately. A short distance away his friend Ace was drinking coffee outside completely unaware. The broker ignored him. He walked straight to his boss’s office.

His boss was a powerful man. He used to provide funding to both political parties. But recently to avoid legal troubles he had backed only one party. The one currently in power.

This was a middle-aged man with deep contacts and a lot of influence. He was in his office now doing work. He had received the news a little while ago. A new customer had come on board.

The customer was funding the ruling political party in Solo City province. This was good news. It meant their brokerage firm would get its cut.

More than that it meant the government would let their side businesses operate smoothly. He was very happy about this new development.

The boss’s happiness did not last long.

His employee came into his office. He told him what the other employee had done. What Ace had done to their new customer. Hearing this the boss became very angry.

But this was not a normal office. He could not just fire someone. Everyone who worked here played with their lives. This was that kind of game.

The boss told the broker "You don’t say anything to him. Just do your work quietly. I will handle the rest. And try to make sure we don’t lose this customer. Reassure them completely. Tell them they don’t need to pay any extra money. We will take care of everything." Hearing this the broker left the office.

The boss spoke to himself in a very angry voice. "It seems some people don’t learn until they are punished." Saying this he made a call.

When Adam found out about the broker’s reply he told the manager "Don’t worry too much. This problem belongs to the company now. It belongs to that brokerage firm not us." Hearing this the manager prepared to return from Solo City.

It was evening now. The sun had set.
