CHAPTER 77: SOMETHING HAPPENED

He started looking at Adam with a new sense of awe and fear.

He thought did he get a file on me like this too? Who is behind Adam who is getting all these details? This looks exactly like some government secret agency is working for Adam finding out everything for him.

Then Kevin took a deep breath trying to compose himself. He looked at Adam nervously and said "Can I know where you got all this information from?" Hearing this Adam just smiled. He shook his head no. Seeing this Kevin let out a small bitter smile. He thought I knew it. He would never reveal his sources.

Then he looked at Adam again his expression now more serious. "Okay I am ready to accept your deal," he said.

"But I have to ask you a question. I will take these men you have given me into my team. But do you trust these people? Do you have faith in them? Because if the money is lost it will be your money. And once the money is caught it won’t take them long to reach me. I have many tricks to save myself. Although there is no direct danger to you. But the money lost will be yours."

Hearing this Adam remained seated in his place completely calm.

But then he smiled. "I don’t trust these people at all," he said. "But I trust this information. And I want you to take advantage of all these people’s weaknesses. Now how you have to do this work I will not tell you. Because you yourself are an expert in this kind of work." After hearing Adam’s words Kevin started looking inside the file again.

He nodded his head slowly. "Yes you don’t need to tell me my job." But Kevin was still very surprised. Because if what Adam was saying and especially what this file was showing was true. Then things could change completely. For Adam and for Kevin both. This was a game-changer.

Then Adam looked at Kevin again. "Can I go now?" he asked. "I have more work to do." Hearing this Kevin managed a genuine smile. "I thought I had impacted my first assignment very badly," he said.

"But with your help it seems that this work has become even easier now." Adam stood up from his chair to leave. But then he suddenly stopped. Kevin was also a little surprised to see Adam’s sudden pause. Then Adam turned and looked at Kevin. "I have one more job," he said. "Will you help me with that too?"

Hearing this Kevin was very surprised. "What kind of work?" he asked.

Adam smiled a mysterious smile. "I want you to fund a new political party," he said. "With the money I am giving you. You will do it through other companies. Your network in our country is very good. So in my eyes there is no bigger asset than you for this kind of thing." Hearing this Kevin was very surprised.

"Okay your this work is very interesting," he said his mind racing. "I will do this work for you too. But tell me the name of that political party."

Adam just smiled. "That will be formed in a few days," he said. "When I tell you." Hearing this Kevin was completely stunned. He was about to ask another question.

But Adam just smiled and saying "Bye" he left the cafe.

He did not give any other answer to Kevin. Kevin stood there behind the table surprised and just kept looking at Adam’s retreating back.

He thought what kind of thing was Adam talking about. Many thoughts were going on in his mind. But he did not want to say anything out of place. Initially Adam had seemed like a rich spoiled brat to him.

But after seeing the amount of money he commanded Kevin realized that Adam was not an ordinary kid. He held a very big power. The power of money. And Kevin knew this well. That’s why he would never go against Adam in the future.

Then Kevin looked down at the file in his hands and said to himself "If he can get this kind of information about me and all these people. Then just think what will happen to his enemies." Thinking this he also left the coffee house with a new sense of purpose.

When Adam got back to his apartment building he noticed that Sophia’s front door was open. Adam was very surprised. It was still very early in the morning.

School time was still a little while away. And Sophia’s door was wide open. Usually she never kept her door open like this. Then Adam went near the gate. He called out her name. "Sophia?" But he did not hear any voice from inside.

Then Adam hesitated a little before going inside. He did not want to invade her privacy. But then he took a deep breath. He thought that maybe there was some kind of problem.

That’s why she had left her door open. And this was not normal for her. Adam started to feel very worried. So he took off his shoes at the entrance and quietly entered Sophia’s apartment.

There he saw her. In the short hallway just a little distance from the gate Sophia was lying on the floor face down. Seeing Sophia like this Adam’s heart skipped a beat.

He came running to her side. He carefully turned her over. "Sophia what happened to you?" he asked his voice filled with fear. As Adam lifted Sophia’s face from the ground his hand touched her forehead.

It was burning hot. He realized that Sophia’s body was completely on fire. She had a very high fever. Now Adam realized that Sophia must have been trying to get to the door to call for help. But he could not understand how Sophia had gotten into this condition so suddenly.

He gently picked Sophia up in his arms. He carried her to her bedroom. Although Adam had never seen Sophia’s room until now he saw that it was very nicely decorated just as he had expected.

But his attention was completely on Sophia right now. He quickly laid her down on the bed. As he did Sophia’s eyes fluttered open. She saw Adam leaning over her. She tried to say something. But she was too weak. She could not say anything.
