CHAPTER 80: SOPHIA (3)

Adam was very surprised to hear Sophia’s words.

He said shyly "Can’t you listen to me? I don’t have any other way." Hearing this Sophia smiled. On the way she said "You give up so quickly." Then turning her face to the other side she lay on the bed.

She opened her mouth and said "But I will definitely listen to you." Adam was very surprised to hear this. But he looked at Sophia and thought that he should not bother her now.

Thinking this Adam stood up from there. He went to his apartment. Andrew was already sitting there. Adam saw Andrew. Andrew looked at him and said "Is your friend okay now?" Hearing this Adam smiled. He said "Yes don’t you worry about her."

Then Andrew took out some files from his bag.

He looked at Adam and said "These are the important files that we have made in these few days from the business of that oil factory." Hearing this Adam smiled.

He looked at Andrew and said "I did not call you here because I wanted to ask you about that factory. But I have a very important job for you."

Hearing this Andrew was very surprised. And also serious. Because he knew that if Adam was giving him a job it would be a very serious job.

Because whatever kind of work Adam had given Andrew they had been very game-changing in the future. And Andrew himself knew this. That is why he was completely serious at this time.

Then Adam said "I want you to recruit people. That is I want you to do the work you are good at." Hearing this Andrew nodded his head.

He nodded his head slowly. "Yes I understand this kind of work," he said.

"Because you always give me this kind of work. But you need to be more specific. What kind of people and for what exact purpose do you want me to choose them? Tell me that. So that I can choose the right people in the right way."

Then Adam smiled. It was a small smile. "I want you to choose people who can represent our ideas," he began.

"People who can represent us and our business interests. People who can benefit us. People who will do exactly as we say. In short I want you to find the right people to create their own political party. I will provide all the necessary money from behind the scenes."

Hearing this Andrew’s eyes widened in disbelief. He who was sitting calmly on the floor suddenly shot up to his feet. He stared at Adam with a dead serious expression his face a mixture of shock and concern. "What?" he asked his voice barely a whisper. "Am I hearing this correctly? You want to create a political party?"

Hearing this Adam simply nodded his head. His expression was calm.

Then Andrew spoke again. "Adam I think you are not understanding the seriousness of this matter. This isn’t like opening a bank or an oil company. This is a completely different level of risk."

Hearing this Adam looked at Andrew. "Yes you are right,"

he said. "I want to understand the seriousness of this matter. But I want to understand it by doing it. Not by standing far away and just watching from the sidelines." Hearing this declaration Andrew became completely silent.

He had no counterargument.

Then Andrew let out a long deep breath. He had to accept the reality of the situation.

"Okay," he said. "I am with you in your decision. And I will also help you in any way I can. But remember that creating a political party is not as easy as finding people for a bank. It is not like finding people for another company."

"For those things we can simply offer money and call people from within the same city. But for a political party we need people with the same mentality. The same ideology. And we need them not just from one city but from throughout the entire province and eventually the whole country. It’s a battle for hearts and minds not just for profit."

Hearing this Adam smiled. "That’s why I called you back Andrew," he said. "Because I have complete faith in your capability to do exactly that."

Hearing Adam’s words of absolute trust Andrew looked down at his own hands. He thought to himself. My capability. He had always been good at finding and connecting with people. But could he really build a political movement? The weight of the task was immense.

Then he spoke again looking at Adam.

His expression was serious. "Adam what you call my capability was my compulsion. It was born out of necessity not talent. Because I have been wandering these streets for a long time doing delivery work. And even before that my life was in such a condition that I had to wander here and there just to survive. Because of that I got to know a few people."

"But the kind of work you are asking for now is different. Finding people throughout the entire province and even throughout the whole country. This is a task that will take many years. And as much as I understand you right now you have no intention of wasting years on this work. You move too fast for that."

Hearing this Adam smiled. He raised his hand and gave Andrew a thumbs up. He was agreeing with Andrew’s point completely. Andrew’s analysis was correct.

Then Andrew let out a deep breath. He had laid out the problem. Now he needed a solution. "I have made my argument," he said.

"Now I want to hear your thoughts. Do you have a solution for this? How do we build a national movement in a matter of months?"

Then Adam smiled again. "I will give you a list of people," he said simply. "And I will give it to you along with a detailed report about each of them."

He looked Andrew directly in the eyes. "Now the work is yours. You have to bring all those people under one roof. And you have to do it in just a few months."

"...That is you have to bring them all under the ideology of our new political party. You must create a whole new political party from scratch. And remember don’t come out completely into the open yourself. Try to stay in the shadows as much as possible."

Hearing this Andrew understood what Adam meant. He was to be the architect but not the face of the movement. He was surprised at how quickly Adam was adapting his methods and his way of working.

Then Andrew spoke to Adam again.

His expression was serious. "Okay I am ready to do this work for you. I will build your political party. But even if you give me a list of people it is very difficult to accomplish this in the amount of time you are saying. It’s nearly impossible."

Then Adam smiled.

He looked at Andrew and said "When did I say that you are alone? Or that you have to do all this work by yourself?"

He paused for a moment. "I will give you another list of extra people. People whom you can recruit to keep in your team. You should first take their interviews yourself. And you can keep whoever you like with you. I am quite sure that the people I have chosen you will surely like them." Hearing this Andrew was very surprised.

It was rare for Adam to praise anyone like this. It meant these people were truly exceptional.

Then Andrew smiled. He understood.

He would not be working alone. Adam had already planned for his support structure. Andrew picked up his bag from the floor and started to leave from there.

As he was walking towards the door he said "Send me that list. As soon as you send me the list I will start working from that time itself. And I will try my best to get all the work done in the time you have given me."

Adam looked at Andrew who was leaving from there. He thought to himself. I have full faith in your capability Andrew. I know you will do it. That’s why I have found people just like you to help you.

Andrew was just about to leave Adam’s apartment. His hand was on the doorknob. Just then a call came on his phone. He pulled it out of his pocket.

He was very surprised when he saw who was calling him. It was the man whom he had made the public face of the Shining Star Bank. The man who was the owner in the eyes of the public.

Adam was also standing behind Andrew. He was watching. But he assumed that it must be a personal call for Andrew. He did not want to pry.

As soon as Andrew picked up the phone the man on the other end of the line spoke in a very scared and nervous voice. "Andrew my house has been raided," the man stammered. "Some government agency people came here a while ago. And they have searched my entire house and taken everything away."

Hearing this a look of worry was clearly visible on Andrew’s face. He was very surprised and he said in a tense voice "What are you saying?"

Hearing the alarm in his friend’s voice Adam’s attention also went towards Andrew.
