CHAPTER 735: CHAPTER 735: A HEARTBEAT SHE CAN’T RESIST
"Evening, it’s getting chilly."
The man said calmly, but his gaze flicked towards the driver.
Sylvia quickly caught on, realizing she might have unintentionally revealed a bit too much earlier, making him jealous, afraid the driver might have seen too.
Thinking of this, Sylvia felt sweetness in her heart. She murmured an acknowledgment and tentatively looped her hand around the man’s arm.
After taking off his coat, Sebastian was only wearing a black shirt underneath.
At the moment, his cuffs were rolled up a bit, revealing his well-defined forearms under the dim light, adding a touch of allure.
Sylvia’s arm was delicate, and their hands pressed together gave an oddly fitting sensation.
Sylvia’s heart was pounding, a pulsating sensation she couldn’t control lingered at her chest.
Sebastian’s body temperature was higher, and he was tall and robust. Despite having been injured not long ago and just discharged from the hospital, his charm was undiminished.
She couldn’t refuse the thrill he induced.
"Director Blackwood, I’ve just had surgery, I’m a bit tired, can I lean on you to rest for a while?"
Sylvia pressed her lips together, nervously and shyly asking him.
Sebastian looked at her indifferently, not answering her question but directly raised his hand to push her head onto his shoulder, silently agreeing to her request.
Sylvia was even more delighted inside, she closed her eyes and truly fell into a peaceful sleep.
The woman’s breathing was faint, softly brushing against his arm, and Sebastian felt a sense of tranquility deep inside, experiencing no surplus emotions.
But when the car turned, he instinctively glanced down at her face, yet inexplicably, a scene surfaced in his mind where he had previously seen Ivy asleep in Warren’s backseat.
Unlike Sylvia, she seemed uneasy, or perhaps afraid.
Aware he had inexplicably thought of her again, Sebastian’s lips tightened in irritation.
Why should he care so much?
It was she who wanted to make a bet with Warren, not his insistence. She and he weren’t really related in any way.
"Director Blackwood?"
At this point, Sylvia seemed to have awoken, and upon opening her eyes, she saw Sebastian’s overly cold gaze, causing her heart to wrench with confusion.
This gaze, it seemed like the first time they met...
Seeing her awake, Sebastian snapped back to reality, "Just in time, we’re here. Let’s get off."
"Okay."
Sylvia shook her head, pushing away her earlier thoughts. Surely, it was her mistake; how could Sebastian look at her with such a cold gaze?
Sebastian had brought her to a seven-star hotel.
The first and second floors were restaurants, with the hotel accommodations above.
After dining, they could conveniently get a room upstairs to rest.
Realizing this, Sylvia’s face couldn’t help but turn flush; could it be that he planned to...
"Doctor Sylvia."
Suddenly, Sebastian called out to her, and Sylvia immediately snapped back, embarrassed at realizing what she’d been thinking, she steadied herself, "What is it?"
"Take a look, see what you’d like to eat."
However, Sebastian remained composed, pushing the menu in front of Sylvia.
Sylvia hadn’t originally intended to come for a meal; she just wanted to see if Sebastian was willing to accompany her.
When it came to ordering, she randomly picked a few dishes—a pork trotter soup, spare ribs, and some greens—before stopping.
"Done."
Earlier, Sebastian had a little to drink, and now wasn’t in the mood for a meal. He lounged lazily in his seat, propping his forehead with one hand, appearing somewhat uncomfortable.
Sylvia said, "Director Blackwood, are you feeling unwell? Is the wound on your back inflamed? How about I take a look for you?"
Just as she finished speaking— "Ah!"
Sylvia suddenly screamed!
