One Night Bride: Master Blackwood's Substitute Wife
Chapter 743: Fever!
CHAPTER 743: CHAPTER 743: FEVER!
Ivy was stunned for a moment, ignoring her own injuries, and quickly answered the call.
"Ma’am!"
It was Mrs. Langley’s voice. She was still habitually calling her "Ma’am."
Hearing these two words, Ivy felt a stabbing pain in her heart.
She was no longer worthy of this title.
As she was about to speak, planning to ask Mrs. Langley not to call her that anymore, Mrs. Langley started talking first: "Ginny, the little young master, has a fever! It’s been high and won’t go down. We called the family doctor, but it didn’t help. He’s been calling for you."
Ginny has a fever?
Ivy was taken aback, instantly becoming tense, "When did the fever start? What’s his temperature now?"
"It started two hours ago, and it’s almost 39 degrees now!"
Mrs. Langley said anxiously.
Now Ivy could no longer sit still, quickly saying, "Mrs. Langley, please take Ginny to the hospital first, I’ll be home soon."
"Ma’am, it’s not that I won’t take the little master to the hospital, but the little guy himself won’t go!"
Otherwise, Mrs. Langley would have taken Ginny to the hospital immediately, but as soon as he heard the word "hospital," Ginny’s face tensed up, refusing to go no matter what.
Ginny wasn’t like Cody, who was soft and easy to coax. He had his own mind about everything, and if he didn’t want to go to the hospital, no one could make him.
So there was no choice, and Mrs. Langley hurriedly called the family doctor over at night to give Ginny an IV. He was slightly better now.
Children are prone to illness during the changing seasons.
Ivy naturally understood it wasn’t Mrs. Langley’s fault for not taking care of him. She acknowledged, "I know, then please take good care of Ginny, I’ll be home in half an hour."
With that, she hung up the phone.
"Ivy, Ginny’s not feeling well?"
Sharon also heard the phone conversation and immediately asked with concern.
Ivy roughly recounted what Mrs. Langley said in the call and then requested, "Sharon, please take me directly to the Blackwood Manor."
"But your injuries..."
Sharon frowned, disapproving.
Ivy smiled at her, "These are minor issues. Besides, isn’t there a family doctor? Once I’m sure Ginny’s okay, I’ll see a doctor for my injuries myself, don’t worry."
She spoke confidently, and since Sharon was also genuinely concerned about Ginny’s situation, she didn’t insist further, allowing Silas to turn the car towards Blackwood Manor.
"Ivy, make sure to take care of your injuries, infection is no minor issue."
Before getting out of the car, Sharon repeatedly reminded her, afraid Ivy might forget.
Ivy waved her hand, indicating not to worry. She had already briefly treated her injuries in the car, and it would be nothing serious.
"Ma’am, you’re finally back."
Mrs. Langley had someone waiting at the door and eagerly greeted Ivy upon seeing her return.
Ivy acknowledged with a sound, heading towards the elevator directly to Ginny’s bedroom.
"Mommy..."
Ginny still had an IV in his little hand. Having heard Mrs. Langley call Ivy, he knew she would come, and thus resisted sleepiness, staying awake.
Seeing this, Ivy felt a pang of sorrow, understanding Ginny stayed awake just to see her.
"Mommy’s back. Mommy’s here to hold you, won’t leave you. Be a good boy, close your eyes and sleep."
She walked over quietly, holding Ginny in her arms and reaching out to touch his head.
The temperature was still a bit high.
Ginny was so sleepy that almost as soon as Ivy held him, he closed his eyes and peacefully fell asleep.
