One Night Bride: Master Blackwood's Substitute Wife
Chapter 80: Saved Her Child!
CHAPTER 80: CHAPTER 80: SAVED HER CHILD!
"Mrs. Huxley!"
Ivy Kensington first called an ambulance and then walked over to support the woman.
Mrs. Huxley had gone out for a walk but unexpectedly encountered a rabid stray dog on the way, which frightened her into a sudden miscarriage. She didn’t have her phone, so she could only seek help in the nearest coffee shop.
Seeing that it was Ivy Kensington, Mrs. Huxley immediately looked as if she’d found a lifeline and cried, "Ivy, help me! You have to save this child..."
Ivy nodded to Mrs. Huxley and then, with the help of others, helped her lie down flat.
"Mrs. Huxley, don’t be afraid. First, take this."
Ivy pulled a small bottle out of her pocket.
The bottle contained small pills refined from herbs, meant for emergency use.
Although she had been expelled from school, Ivy hadn’t given up on learning. During her time with the Weldon family, she had developed many kinds of pills and happened to have a few bottles on her.
Mrs. Huxley trusted Ivy deeply and swallowed it without hesitation.
At this moment, a young woman ran in, and upon seeing the scene, she immediately cursed, "Ivy Kensington, it’s you again! You’ve been expelled from school, yet you dare to give my mother random medicine. If it causes her to miscarry, what are you going to do!"
The woman, Florence Huxley, was the adopted daughter of the Huxley family.
Florence grabbed Mrs. Huxley’s arm, trying to help her up, "Mom, I’m here. Let’s go to the hospital. This Ivy is trying to harm you!"
Mrs. Huxley clutched her stomach and couldn’t say a word. Suddenly, her head tilted to the side, and she fainted.
"Mom! Mom!"
Florence shouted several times, glaring angrily at Ivy, "You just wait, if anything happens to my mom, you’re dead!"
Ivy said, "I would never harm Mrs. Huxley."
Both Mrs. Huxley and Elder Huxley had been kind to her, and she had been learning herbal medicine since she was young, all thanks to Elder Huxley.
The ambulance had already arrived, and Mrs. Huxley was quickly carried on board.
Arriving at the hospital.
Elder Huxley also hurried over from the pharmacy. Seeing Ivy, he said happily, "Ivy, was it you who saved Mrs. Huxley?"
"Dad!" Florence interrupted, "She almost killed Mom. She gave Mom some random pill, and Mom immediately fainted!"
Upon hearing this, Elder Huxley frowned but said nothing.
The door of the emergency room swung open, and the doctor came out.
"Doctor, is my mom okay?"
Florence hurriedly stepped forward to ask.
The doctor said, "Fortunately, someone gave the patient timely hemostatic and fetal protection medicine, or it might’ve been uncertain if this child could be saved!"
What?
Could Ivy’s pill really have worked?
Florence found it hard to believe.
Ivy, however, gave a sincere smile, "Luckily, Mrs. Huxley is okay."
When Mrs. Huxley was younger, her health had suffered greatly, making it hard to conceive. They had been recuperating for many years, and now as an older mother, if this child wasn’t saved, it would be a tremendous blow to the Huxley family.
Florence clenched her fists secretly, feeling unwilling in her heart.
The Huxley family adopted her, yet they were still eager to have their child. So what did that make her?
When Mrs. Huxley woke up, she held Ivy’s hand with tears streaming down endlessly.
If this child were lost, she felt she would have nothing left to live for...
"Ivy, thank you."
Ivy shook her head, "It’s okay, Mrs. Huxley. Take good care of yourself, and the child will be born safely."
"Ivy, come outside. I want to talk to you."
At this moment, Elder Huxley beckoned Ivy to come over.
Ivy quickly walked over, "Teacher, what’s the matter?"
