One Piece: I Awakened King Ghidorah At the Start
Chapter 37 037: Then Let’s Have a Real War
"Garp!"
Sengoku stepped forward to stand beside Garp, calling out in a low, steady voice.
He glanced at the comrade who had grown up with him—the friend who'd fought by his side through countless storms—and his heart was heavy with guilt.
He had not only concealed the truth about the Will of D., but had also been complicit in the attempt to execute Garp's grandson...
When he thought about everything he had done, and then looked at Garp—
Even after learning the truth, even on the edge of death, the man still stood by the Marines.
"After today, whether I live or die—there will be no more 'Garp' in the Navy."
Surrounded by swirling Haki, Garp's voice was calm, but carried a sense of unshakable finality.
"You…"
Sengoku's Buddha-like eyes widened. For a moment, he was at a loss for words. Then, after a deep breath, he responded:
"Fine. Then let's give them a real fight!"
"Shockwave of the Buddha!"
As his voice rang out, the air trembled. Raising his massive golden palm, concentric shockwaves rippled outward.
"Fistbone Impact (OC)!!"
Following closely, Garp roared, stomping down with a thunderous crash that shattered the ground beneath him, leaping upward with fierce force.
His jet-black fist crackled faintly with streaks of white electricity.
As both moved in unison, the entire airspace above Marineford buzzed violently.
Within a radius of a kilometer, space visibly twisted.
A terrifying wave of raw, chaotic energy surged like a great river toward the ancient behemoth before them.
"Looks good. Don't disappoint me—Sengoku, Garp!"
Ghidorah's three terrifying dragon heads twisted into a savage grin.
The two side heads opened their massive jaws simultaneously.
"ROOOAAAR!!"
Violent golden energy gathered in an instant, then, with a sharp buzz, two spiraling beams shot forth—each aimed at one of the legendary Marines.
Under the dim skies of Marineford, the twin golden beams wrapped in electrical discharges lit up the entire battlefield.
The crackling of electricity was so fierce it pierced the ears like a thousand shrieking birds.
"It's terrifying!"
"Absolutely horrifying!"
"That monster fires off attacks like it's nothing—it's like doomsday!"
"Can Sengoku and Garp even survive against such power?"
Aboard the Moby Dick, captains of the Whitebeard Pirates erupted into frantic discussion, all eyes fixed on the devastating clash.
Luffy and Ace stared in wide-eyed horror at the incoming beams of destruction.
---
BOOM! BOOM!
In the blink of an eye, the overwhelming forces from both sides collided.
Two deafening blasts echoed through the sky, shaking the entire sea.
A massive shockwave was born where the two forces met—raw energy smashing into raw energy.
It triggered a cyclone of fierce wind.
Invisible shockwaves surged.
A choking, despair-inducing pressure flooded the battlefield.
---
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The impact was so immense it forced Ghidorah back two steps, slamming him into the already-ruined Navy headquarters watchtower.
The tower instantly crumbled into dust.
CRACKLE…
The violent energy still hadn't subsided. From the center of the explosion came a sound like shattering glass.
The distorted air now shimmered with streaks of black—
as though space itself was about to rip apart.
BOOM!!
A new explosion—this time even more terrifying—erupted.
A mushroom cloud of energy rose high into the sky, its center pulsing with rippling shockwaves that surged back downward.
Below those ripples stood Sengoku and Garp, both already coughing up blood.
Before they could even react, the shockwaves slammed into them.
Their faces turned grim as they felt the overwhelming force.
But it was too late.
The unstoppable energy engulfed them.
SPLAT! SPLAT! SPLAT!
Even with Haki wrapped tightly around their bodies, their skin cracked open under the pressure.
"Goodbye."
Soaked in blood, Garp's lips curled into a faint smile.
Though his mouth moved, no sound came out.
---
"Old Man!!"
"Oyaji!!"
From the distance, Luffy and Ace screamed, their throats hoarse with grief.
They struggled desperately to escape Whitebeard's grip.
But it was hopeless.
No matter how hard they fought, Whitebeard's massive hand pinned them down like an immovable mountain.
Their cries turned into shrieks of agony, throats tearing from the strain—but they still couldn't break free.
---
"Vice Admiral Garp!!"
"Fleet Admiral Sengoku!!"
Not far from the blast zone, Aokiji and Akainu watched, horror written across their faces.
Two of the Navy's greatest pillars—swallowed by that monstrous energy.
The ground beneath them felt like it was crumbling away.
They tried to charge forward, but the rampaging energy swept them back again and again.
Their bodies continuously shifted into elemental form, endlessly torn and healed by the forces around them—
ripped open, regenerated, then ripped again…
---
"Fufufufufu…"
Doflamingo, scorched and burned in many places, had fled the moment the beams were fired.
Using his Devil Fruit powers, he escaped in time—his eerie laughter echoing in the distance.
---
"Not bad at all."
Amid the storm, Ghidorah's golden eyes gleamed as he looked down at the two bloodied figures before him, giving a rare nod of approval.
Blood rained from the sky.
The background was bleak, unyielding.
Their bodies were scarred from head to toe.
Their mouths overflowed with blood.
The blood soaked into the soil, returning to the earth.
---
The scythe of Death always hovers by the neck.
Whether it strikes or not… depends on Death's mood.
As the storm subsided, the battlefield grew quiet.
A massive crater—smooth as a bowl—was left behind.
At its center lay two bloodied, barely-breathing men.
Two legendary icons of the pirate era, now lying broken before him.
With just one step, Ghidorah could crush them—erasing both from history.
He stared down at them for a long while with his enormous golden eyes.
But…
He couldn't find a reason to step down.
One was his distant blood descendant.
The other—a tactician he deeply respected.
BOOM!
Suddenly, a volcanic blast rained down from the sky.
It snapped him out of his thoughts—and made the decision for him.
Looking up at the dark-red magma bombs falling from above, he moved again.
With a sweep of his massive tail, Ghidorah shattered every single lava projectile.
Golden eyes flashed coldly.
He glared at Akainu, and mocked him with icy contempt:
"You little magma brat—go home and play with candles."
To Ghidorah, everyone in this world was just a child.
After all—he had lived far too long.
Akainu's expression twisted with fury.
Since becoming Fleet Admiral, no one—not even Sengoku or the Gorosei—had dared speak to him like that.
"Ghidorah! Today will be your last day!"
Even as he spoke, Aokiji, already prepared, shot into the ruins, grabbing Garp and Sengoku.
Then, without hesitation, he fled into the distance.
It was a plan they had agreed upon earlier—
The Navy could survive without Garp…
But it could not survive without Sengoku.
---
Ghidorah saw it all, but didn't care.
His decision had already been made. No regrets.
And if he did regret it—
he could always kill them later.
To him, deciding who dies…
was a matter of mood. Nothing more.
But this Akainu standing before him now?
He was dead for sure.
---
"Let's hope your words aren't empty boasts."
Ghidorah's lips curled into a savage smile.
He spread his enormous wings—
And the world between heaven and earth lit up with thunder.
