One Piece: Investing In Whitebeard At The Start.
Chapter 187: 187: Uranus Incarnate.
"That monster is dead. No matter how powerful he is, there's no way he can surpass Im-sama!"
"Im-sama has not acted in many years, but her strength and ability are beyond question!"
The four elders stared up at the heavens, their eyes unblinking. Massive red clouds churned and twisted, spiraling into a vast vortex. Within it, a dark, bottomless black hole began to form, and from its depths surged countless bolts of purple lightning, rising and crashing one after another.
Uranus—the King of Heaven—was the most powerful of the three Ancient Weapons. Compared to it, Pluton was just a battleship—crafted by the ancient artisans of a bygone era. While impressive, it remained a tool, one the World Government could potentially replicate with enough Berries and effort. After all, they had Vegapunk, a scientist centuries ahead of his time, and virtually unlimited resources.
Still, for those who had seen Pluton in action, it was terrifying enough. Though it was forged by hands far beyond its age, it was ultimately a product of man. Unlike Pluton, Poseidon and Uranus were not created—they were born of the world itself. Like Devil Fruits, they weren't forged by hands, but shaped by the rules that govern reality.
The sky is vaster than the sea, and Uranus, the King of Heaven, is even more supreme than Poseidon. It is said to embody destruction itself. While Poseidon and Shirahoshi are gentle and often manipulated, Uranus and its wielder rule unchallenged. And at the pinnacle of that throne was Im—a being above all others. This world was hers to toy with.
"She's terrifying," one of them whispered. "I've heard the legends, but I always thought they were fantasy. Who would believe such a tale? I never expected..."
Fear spread across. Vane might've been frightening, but when myth stepped into reality, it was Im who sent shivers through the soul.
According to ancient whispers, Im could bend nature itself. With a thought, she could change the seasons of an entire sea—from sweltering summer to frozen winter. She could summon natural disasters: tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, blizzards, lightning storms, and droughts... all at will.
Now, the vortex above Mariejois grew to engulf the sky itself. Purple thunder crackled within the void, deeper than night.
Everyone gazed upward in awe. Even warriors like Sengoku, who had weathered countless storms in their lifetime, stood frozen. Garp could barely maintain his composure. So overwhelming was the sight that they momentarily forgot the darkened figure in front of them.
Very few in the world even knew of Im's existence. Her name was a myth among myths. Most dismissed her as fantasy—stories too exaggerated to be true. Whitebeard, known for his power to destroy the world, could only summon tsunamis. But Im? Manipulating tsunamis was merely a fraction of her capabilities.
As the heavens twisted into a storming black vortex, the leaders of the world had no choice but to wonder if the legends had always been true. For centuries, the Celestial Dragons ruled the world with brutality. Though countless sought to overthrow them—men like Rocks or revolutionaries like Dragon—they had all failed.
Because when history needed cleansing, Im would send out the [Light Eraser]... or act herself. It was through this erasure of history that her legend endured.
She maintained divine rule by deleting the past.
And now, she was acting once more.
The truth about Uranus had always been shrouded in mystery—even more so than Poseidon. No one would have guessed that Im herself was Uranus incarnate.
"My suspicions were right... she's the true form of the King of Heaven!"
If this wasn't the power of Uranus, could it truly be a Devil Fruit?
Vane didn't believe it.
From within the glowing form of a perfect Susanoo, Vane stared up into the sky where the black vortex roared. Massive wings unfurled from the blue armor behind the Susanoo, shimmering like celestial blades.
He leapt into the air, soaring higher and higher. The Susanoo wielded two giant ethereal swords, its body radiating power. Vane, through it, could still cast the ninjutsu he specialized in. The blades of the perfect Susanoo could cleave mountains and split meteors. Its power was devastating.
He was going to split the sky itself.
"Hmph, foolish boy! You're about to witness the one power in this world worthy of being called divine!"
Im sneered. From high above, she gazed down at the Susanoo racing upward. Her right hand lifted—a signal. The vortex trembled. Thunder erupted in a deafening boom. From the endless void, a pair of terrifying blood-red eyes opened—Im's eyes, staring down from the heavens.
A massive hand formed from purple lightning reached out from the vortex. Simultaneously, three more colossal hands, made from swirling red clouds, followed.
From the earth, their size was incomprehensible. The heavens were falling.
Below, Vane narrowed his eyes.
"So this... is the power of Uranus?"
His heart pounded. If there was any doubt before, it was gone now—Im stood atop the world's power ceiling.
"I am the true god!" her voice rang out like thunder. "And you... are nothing but an insect, beneath divine rule!"
Im pointed a pale finger toward Vane. Though he remained cloaked within the Susanoo's core, she knew exactly where he was.
From the skies, the four giant hands—one of thunder, three of storm—descended.
"How terrifying," someone muttered.
Then Vane raised his sword.
"Let me witness this 'divine' power for myself."
He gripped the massive blade of the Susanoo, slashing upward—toward the wrath of a god.
