Witnessing the uproar in Dressrosa, Donquixote Doflamingo immediately sensed that something was amiss with Sugar.
As a desperate measure, he unleashed his Birdcage, ensnaring the entirety of Dressrosa. While he might secure a pardon from the World Government for this action, a public scandal exposing the truth of Dressrosa would undoubtedly seal his fate and ensure he’d never be released a second time.
Dressrosa, after all, was an affiliated nation of the World Government. If such a country were to be brazenly invaded by pirates with the World Government remaining indifferent, it would severely erode the trust of other affiliated nations.
Chaos at the Colosseum
In the monitoring room of the Corrida Colosseum, Pica watched as the Flare-Flare Fruit was snatched by Ace. He moved decisively, but before he could burst out, the pandemonium had already begun, and the toys throughout the arena reverted to their original forms.
"Damn it... something’s happened to Sugar!" Pica cursed under his breath before shouting to Diamante, who was still fixated on retrieving the Flare-Flare Fruit, "Diamante, head to the underground port immediately!"
With that, Pica set off for the underground port, understanding that the situation was spiraling out of control. Restoring Dressrosa to its original state absolutely required Sugar’s Devil Fruit ability.
Seeing Pica and Diamante about to depart, Ace promptly tossed the box containing the Flare-Flare Fruit to Sabo in the stands, then gave chase. Luffy, witnessing this, quickly followed suit.
Doflamingo’s Fury Unleashed
Meanwhile, Doflamingo, echoing Pica’s thoughts, also made a direct beeline for the underground port after activating the Birdcage.
The scene that greeted Doflamingo upon his arrival at the underground port only intensified his rage.
Little Lolita and Sugar lay unconscious on bed.
Trebol, a top executive of the Donquixote Family, was sprawled on the ground, his condition unknown.
Senior Pink stood with his arms crossed, clearly knocked out from severe injuries.
Lao G had a massive hole gaping in his chest, undeniably dead.
Dellinger
was completely charred, turned to cinders by an electrical attack – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside.
And finally, Gladius, the Burst-Burst Fruit user, had been utterly obliterated by his own self-destructive explosion.
The tragic state of his crew members pushed Doflamingo’s fury beyond suppression.
Ikki also noticed Doflamingo’s arrival. Behind him stood Monet with a worried expression, Buffalo endlessly wailing, and "Drought" Jack with a look of utter disdain.
"Fufufu... Doflamingo arrived quite quickly!" Ikki mused.
"Did you do all of this?" Doflamingo demanded in a low, dangerous voice.
Ikki merely shrugged and grinned, "Isn’t it obvious?"
Doflamingo said no more. He vanished from his spot, reappearing beside Ikki, delivering a powerful kick directly at Ikki’s head.
Ikki’s arms were instantly coated in Busoshoku Haki, blocking the swift kick bare-handed. He then swung Mjolnir, the Thunder God’s Hammer, in his right hand towards Doflamingo.
Doflamingo, keenly aware of Mjolnir’s destructive power, naturally wouldn’t dare to take the blow directly. However, he was reluctant to abandon his attack on Ikki.
Ultimately, he was forced to awaken his String-String Fruit ability, transforming everything around him into white strings to deflect Mjolnir, while simultaneously launching his "Five-Color String" attack towards Ikki with his other hand.
"Heavenly Dragon’s Roar!"
Just as the Five-Color String was about to slice into Ikki, he unleashed a powerful dragon’s breath, forcing Doflamingo back and creating distance between them.
This brief exchange revealed to Doflamingo that Ikki was significantly stronger than he had been just days prior. Before, Ikki hadn’t known how to use Haki, nor was his reaction speed as quick as it was now.
"Jack, help me kill this man!" Doflamingo, though arrogant, was not foolish. Why exert himself when he had a powerful enforcer at his disposal?
Jack didn’t immediately move, instead looking at Ikki and asking, "Are you with Straw Hat? Where is Straw Hat?"
Hearing Jack’s question, Ikki secretly thought, Is that Kaido’s guy looking for Luffy? The Straw Hats were a well-known name on the seas, and Luffy, with his rising infamy and impressive lineage among the new generation, it wasn’t surprising that Kaido might recognize him.
"What do you want with Luffy?" Ikki asked, genuinely curious.
Ikki’s counter-question, rather than a direct answer, immediately irritated Jack, who possessed a somewhat volatile temper. Without a word, he charged forward, scimitars in hand. In Jack’s opinion, it was always better to deliver a beating first before asking questions; otherwise, people just talked too much!
Jack lunged at Ikki with two strange scimitars, showing no intention of cooperating with Doflamingo. Ikki responded by throwing Mjolnir at Jack.
Seeing this, Jack raised his two scimitars and, without hesitation, slashed at Mjolnir. There was a resounding clang, and then both of Jack’s scimitars shattered. Mjolnir continued its trajectory, striking Jack squarely in the chest.
It had to be said that Jack’s raw physical strength and Haki were indeed far superior to Doflamingo’s. After being hit by Mjolnir, he only felt a crushing chest pain and shortness of breath, but he did not cough up blood.
Ikki summoned Mjolnir back, this time planning to combine wind and thunder to directly shatter Jack’s Busoshoku Haki. As Jack saw his weapons broken, he prepared to activate his Devil Fruit power.
Jack was an Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit user, having eaten the Mammoth-Mammoth Fruit, and he was also a Devil Fruit Awakener. While Zoan Awakeners don’t gain special abilities, their physical strength and recovery capabilities are significantly enhanced.
After transforming into his giant mammoth form, Jack swung his trunk at Ikki, his trunk wrapped in Busoshoku Haki. Seeing this, Ikki, his own Mjolnir covered in Armament Haki, met Jack’s trunk head-on, eager to test his own Haki strength.
After all, he considered himself a student of "Teacher Kaido," having received his teachings. If he couldn’t defeat Kaido’s subordinate, wouldn’t it be a disgrace to his teacher?
When Mjolnir collided with Jack’s trunk, it bounced off. Ikki then threw Mjolnir at Jack again. At the same time, he took a deep breath and roared, blowing a dragon’s breath at the flying hammer.
When the dragon’s breath hit Mjolnir, it instantly accelerated the hammer. Because of the lightning released by Mjolnir, thunder also manifested within the dragon’s breath, amplifying its power even further.
"This move is called Wind and Thunder Roar!"
The Wind and Thunder Roar swiftly engulfed Jack. The combination of lightning and powerful winds continuously inflicted damage, and Mjolnir instantly shattered Jack’s tusks, which were said to be worth 900 million Berries.
Ikki knew that this attack wouldn’t be enough to defeat Jack, so he immediately spread his wings. With a Rabbit Talisman in his left hand and an Ox Talisman in his right, his entire body became enveloped in a powerful Armament Haki aura.
As Ikki prepared, the wind and thunder surrounding Jack dissipated. Just as Jack was gasping for air, lamenting his lost 900 million Berry tusks, a figure slammed directly into him.
Ikki’s blow landed squarely on Jack’s chest, instantly shattering his sternum, and the broken bone even pierced his heart. However, as an Awakener of an Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit, a ruptured heart was not enough to kill him. With some rest, Jack would be up and fighting again.
