One Piece: Rinnegan Is My Golden Finger
Chapter 292: 292: Rise of the God-King.
The battle between the two Ōtsutsuki came to a decisive end—Zero-shiki was dead, and Chiga emerged not just victorious, but as the savior of the entire Pirate World.
From that moment onward, the title of Fleet Admiral no longer did justice to Uchiha Chiga's position. His name alone became a symbol of faith and hope for countless people across the seas.
The collapse of the Red Line and the total eradication of the Celestial Dragons were not seen as tragedies, but as long-overdue blessings. After all, the World Government had long since ceased to serve the people. The cruelty and corruption of the Celestial Dragons, their abuses against innocent civilians, were well-known and resented.
Yet the world still needed governance. In the aftermath, a new World Government quickly took shape—its foundation built upon the remnants of the former Marine leadership. Most of its core members were high-ranking officers from Navy Headquarters.
In essence, the new World Government was the Navy, and the sacred capital was no longer Mary Geoise—it was Marineford.
And at the helm of it all stood Chiga, no longer merely an admiral but the supreme ruler of this reformed world order. While titles mattered little to him, the people had already elevated him to a divine status.
From that day forward, the Uchiha name became synonymous with divinity itself. Though Chiga was the only Uchiha in this world, those who truly understood him believed more would eventually follow in his footsteps.
The contrast between the former Celestial Dragons and Chiga couldn't have been greater. Where the Dragons were weak, decadent, and cruel, Chiga was strong, principled, and revered. The so-called "Gods" of the past had been hollow idols—Chiga, by contrast, had earned his place in the hearts of the people.
In the center of Marineford's grand square, a towering statue of Uchiha Chiga had been erected. The Navy's old emblem had been replaced by the symbol of the Uchiha Clan—a stylized fan. His former Marshal's office had been transformed into a breathtaking palace fit for a king.
This transformation elevated public admiration into something close to religious reverence. Within the Navy itself, Chiga's prestige was unprecedented—and likely would remain unmatched forever.
Despite his rise, Chiga had not appeared in public since the final battle at Mary Geoise.
He found the overwhelming admiration difficult to bear.
In his place, his diligent secretary Kalifa handled daily affairs. Fortunately, she was no longer burdened alone—Robin had joined as her assistant, and Ain also helped with administrative work. With their support, Kalifa had more time to spend by Chiga's side each day.
As for Nerona, she had broken down in tears upon hearing that Mary Geoise had been destroyed. That was, until Chiga looked at her and said gently:
"Stop crying. This will be your home from now on."
She quieted immediately. From that moment, she was granted permanent residence in the palace. Everyone in the Navy was aware of her former identity, yet no one treated her with contempt. On the contrary, they treated her with respect—for her position beside Chiga made her nobler than any title she once had.
Whispers began to spread that Chiga would soon be called King.
But not Pirate King, nor Navy King—rather, the King of the World.
It was, in essence, the public revelation of a title once held only in shadow—the role Im once played.
Chiga himself had no knowledge of this. It was Kalifa who informed him one evening after returning from her duties.
At first, he was baffled. Once, he may have dreamed of such a title, but ever since evolving into an Ōtsutsuki, the pursuit of reputation had lost its appeal.
Yet this title wasn't his decision. It had been proposed and confirmed by the upper echelons of the new World Government. Sengoku, among others, stated it was the will of the people—a world needed its symbol, its light.
And for the world to move forward, that light could only be Uchiha Chiga.
A coronation ceremony was arranged.
On the day of his ascension, the waters surrounding Marineford were packed with vessels of every kind. So many came to witness the event that a colossal "ship jam" formed in every direction. Although the ceremony was broadcast to the world, the desire to witness it firsthand had reached a fever pitch.
Ordinarily, Marineford would never allow unauthorized ships to draw so near. But this day was different. While access to the island itself remained restricted, the surrounding seas were left open.
Those permitted to enter included the kings of various nations, key figures from the new government, and individuals close to Chiga—Nami, Nojiko, and others.
Among them was a particularly unexpected guest. When Garp caught sight of him, his face went pale.
His son, Monkey D. Dragon, leader of the Revolutionary Army, had arrived at Marineford.
The expression on Garp's face was one of shock, confusion, and emotional turmoil. Dragon, however, remained calm.
"Father, I'm here," he said simply.
Garp responded with a deep, gruff tone.
"What are you doing here? Trying to crash the coronation?"
"Of course not. That would mean becoming the enemy of the whole world."
Only after hearing those words did Garp finally exhale in relief.
"Then why?"
Dragon turned his gaze to the massive statue of Chiga outside the window. His voice softened with respect.
"I came to congratulate our King. And… I want to return to the Navy."
"Oh, that's go—NANI!?"
Garp's shout echoed across the hall. A snot bubble popped on his face in disbelief.
Dragon calmly pulled a folded document from his pocket and placed it in his father's hands.
But Garp wasn't even looking at it. He grabbed Dragon by the shoulders, face contorted with disbelief.
"What did you say?! Say it again!!"
Dragon sighed and wiped the spit from his face.
"I said, I'm here to congratulate…"
"Skip that part!! The next sentence!!"
"…I want to return to the Navy."
Garp stood frozen for a moment, staring at his son. Then, without warning, he pulled him into a tight embrace and whispered,
"It's good to have you back. It's… really good to have you back."
Dragon said nothing. He simply stood there, silently accepting the emotion of the moment.
He knew what his departure from the Navy had meant to his father. At the time, he'd believed it necessary. The corruption within the World Government had been too great. He had left behind everything—including Garp—to try and make a difference.
But things were different now.
Chiga had dismantled the old regime. He had defeated Im, saved the world, and brought balance. Pirates no longer ran rampant, and the Revolutionary Army's purpose had all but vanished.
So Dragon, and many of his comrades, returned.
Not out of surrender—but out of hope. To see firsthand what kind of world Chiga would build.
