One Piece: Silent-Silent Fruit
Chapter 80 81: What a Racket! Quiet Down Already!
As that voice rang out, a figure strode forward, firm and resolute with each step.
The moment he appeared, everyone could feel the surrounding temperature begin to rise—like a furnace slowly roaring to life.
"Sakazuki…"
"That's Vice Admiral Sakazuki!" the marines exclaimed in unison.
"Meteor Volcano!"
Without waiting for approval from Kong or Sengoku, Sakazuki immediately activated his Devil Fruit powers.
Lava surged up from his arms, thick and bubbling, and in an instant, a barrage of blazing fists shot up into the sky.
The heavens were suddenly dyed in an ominous red hue.
As everyone looked up in bewilderment, the clouds above were torn open—revealing what lay behind them:
Dozens upon dozens of colossal magma fists were descending like meteors.
"W-What the hell is that?!" a Second Unit soldier cried out, his face pale with dread as he stared wide-eyed at the hellish sky.
"This has gotta be a joke!"
"Damn it! How are we supposed to dodge that?!"
"Hahaha... This must be a dream. A nightmare, right?!"
Many of the Second Unit fighters dropped to their knees, paralyzed by despair. The will to resist was vanishing from their eyes.
"This power... it's like a natural disaster," Sengoku muttered, his face solemn.
"Incredible... So this is the power of the Magma-Magma Fruit?" one Vice Admiral whispered in awe.
Up until now, the so-called "three monster Vice Admirals" had been rising stars of the Navy, and many of the older generation still considered them overhyped brats. As long as the veterans stood strong, there was no need for reckless upstarts to make waves—or so they believed.
But now, watching the sky rain down with Sakazuki's Meteor Volcano, even those seasoned Vice Admirals felt a crushing sense of helplessness.
This... this was the might of a Logia-type Magma Devil Fruit? Could any of them even hope to compare?
No wonder the Navy Headquarters had been so determined to cultivate these three monstrous talents. If power like this was allowed to fully mature, it could decide the outcome of an entire war. Properly harnessed, it was a weapon of strategic importance.
While the Vice Admirals reeled from shock, the meteors of molten rock were already crashing down toward the outer perimeter—aimed directly at the Second Unit outside the defensive walls.
The fists of magma plummeted from the heavens with devastating force. Upon impact, they exploded violently, sending searing lava in every direction.
One after another, Second Unit fighters were blasted into the air. The molten rock clung to their bodies, burning through flesh and armor alike.
The assault was relentless—wave after wave of volcanic fists shrieked down from the sky, each explosion louder than the last.
Compared to the last time Sakazuki had unleashed Meteor Volcano on Ohara, the power now was several magnitudes stronger.
The battlefield was chaos. Members of the Second Unit scattered, desperately trying to dodge the incoming magma strikes—but with the sky filled with them, there was nowhere to run.
It looked like the end of the world.
"Damn it!!!" Raelmann roared.
His entire body was covered in wounds. The healing seals hadn't even had time to take effect, and blood soaked through his uniform. But what burned fiercer than his injuries... were his eyes—bloodshot with fury.
He stared at the scene of devastation before him, the fiery rain of death, and once again felt the crushing weight of power he could not resist.
This wasn't his first time witnessing monstrous power.
As a seasoned pirate from the New World, Raelmann had seen Golden Lion sweep the skies with storms and watched Whitebeard tear apart oceans and space itself. That was why he had long accepted that bowing before monsters was no shame.
But now—seeing his Second Unit slaughtered so mercilessly by a single man's power—Rearlman couldn't help but wonder…
Was it a mistake to attack Marineford at all?
It wasn't just the pirates who were stunned. Even the marines—officers and soldiers alike—stood frozen in awe and fear at the sight before them.
Logia users were always said to wield the power of natural disasters… but that had always been just a legend.
After today, no one would ever doubt it again.
This—this was disaster made flesh.
Leading the charge, Beadle looked up at the crimson sky, his face grim. The endless rain of magma fists was a death sentence—but he knew now wasn't the time for despair.
"Spread out! Everyone, spread out! Don't stay clustered together! Bring out the Flame Cannons! Blast the magma! Knock it out of the sky!" he shouted with urgency.
Their unit captain was locked in combat with a Vice Admiral. That meant the burden of command was on him now!
"Scatter, move, now!"
One of the Second Unit fighters hefted his flame cannon and aimed at an incoming magma fist. With a deafening blast, he fired.
The flaming projectile collided with the magma and exploded mid-air. Volcanic fragments rained down, but the impact had clearly weakened.
"It works! We can't stop it completely, but we can dull its force! Focus on breaking apart the smaller ones!" Beadle yelled.
"Fire!"
Others followed suit, swapping in Flame Shells and launching round after round into the sky.
"Use Cloud Shells to form shields! Block the magma fragments!"
"Charge! Break past the defensive wall! If we're in the midst of the Navy's forces, they won't dare keep firing Meteor Volcano!"
They tried everything—attacking, defending, evading—but against a bombardment of this scale, it was like trying to stop a tidal wave with a bucket.
More soldiers were blasted away, more were burned alive.
"Heh... what an incredible ability," Onigumo said, watching the apocalypse unfold with an almost reverent grin.
"Let this magma purify their sins in flames," Doberman added with a twisted smile.
Both Vice Admirals were from Sakazuki's class, and both were hardcore hawks. Seeing their comrade unleash such overwhelming power filled them with grim satisfaction.
But Raelmann's voice cut through their gloating.
"You two might want to think about your own survival first. Don't forget—you're still within his strike zone too."
"Heh... is that your final speech?" Onigumo sneered.
"We'll see who dies here," Raelmann growled as he charged once more at the two Vice Admirals.
This was beyond his ability to control. At this point, he could only hope the captain—or the Bloodsworn Guard—had a plan to turn the tide.
Just then—
Another wormhole opened in midair.
A figure stepped through calmly, as if unbothered by the chaos around him.
"So noisy," the newcomer muttered, raising his head to glance at the fiery sky. "Time to quiet things down."
"Silent Demon Eye—Silence!"
