The silence in the room was instant, Andrey stared at Min-jae in shock but the expressions of their faces wasn’t enough to move Min-jae.

"Let me introduce myself. I am Kaizar Amagi, a noble and former special advisor to the king and Meical’s ’wife’.."

He didn’t bother to bow, they didn’t deserve it.

Aleksandr was the first to break the silence, as though he had heard something funny, he started laughing.

"The wife is a man, the irony of it. So it has gotten to the time when two men can get married? How disgusting.."

Tatiana finally snapped out of her shock and rounded on Meical instead of Min-jae.

"You married this man?" her voice rose sharply. "You married a man? Is this some kind of joke?!"

Andrey’s face darkened even further. "This is unacceptable. Absolutely unacceptable. The Vukasins do not recognize such abominations. Marriage is between a man and a woman—your woman. The one we would have chosen for you."

Sanya tried quietly, "Papa, maybe we should..."

"Silence.." Tatiana snapped without looking at her. "You have no say in this."

Aleksandr’s smirk widened. "I knew something was wrong with him. Of all things...this." He gestured vaguely at Min-jae. "This is what he ran off to do?"

Min-jae didn’t flinch. "Yes. This is exactly what he ran off to do and what’s wrong with that?"

Tatiana recoiled as though the words had touched her. "You think this is something to say proudly? Two men pretending to be married? What exactly do you think this is?"

"A marriage? Under this kingdom’s law, we are lawfully married. It’s exactly what you think it is.." Min-jae answered simply.

Andrey took a step back, then smacked his came on the ground, turning to Meical.

"Was this man your first choice?"

Meical pursed his lips, but Min-jae froze instantly.

He wasn’t Meical’s first choice, in fact he had forced this marriage on Meical and with the law of no divorce until 33 months, he had no choice but to accept the situation.

"Answer me when I speak to you, boy!"

Meical clenched his fists slightly and shook his head "No, he was not..."

"Was your first choice a woman?"

"Yes, it was.."

Andrey sat down, urging Tatiana and Aleksandr to sit down as well.

"Then why did you marry this man? What happened to that woman? But that isn’t the point, if a woman was your first choice then you can marry a woman again. Annul this marriage and return home to marry a woman of our choosing

since it’s quite obvious, you don’t know how to pick a spouse.."

Meical’s jaw tightened wanting to speak, but Min-jae beat him to it.

"No.." he said.

Every head snapped toward him.

"He is not marrying anyone except me.." Min-jae continued calmly, "because he belongs with me."

Tatiana gave a short, sharp laugh. "Belongs? Are you delusional? What kind of man let’s another man bend him over?"

Min-jae tilted his head, his expression flat. "Have you ever been bent over? You should try it. It might improve your personality."

Tatiana hissed in disgust, her hatred for Min-jae growing by the minute.

Min-jae continued as if discussing the weather.

"And if you bring any woman here, I’ll kill her." His tone didn’t rise. He didn’t blink. "And then I’ll poison every single one of you."

The vase on the table was on the floor, smashed into a million pieces.

"Who do you think you are?! What gave you the right to speak to us as you please? Given your position, the only thing you should be doing is keeping your mouth shut.."

Andrey hissed, this was going no where so he had to unreleased his secret weapon.

"It’s a shameful act you’ve committed Meical, and words get out, if word reaches your grandfather and he hears the alleged wife is a man. You know what would happen, I may not to able to raise my sword because you are my son, but your grandfather..." He paused, letting the weight of what he just said sink in.

"So do the right thing and annul this marriage. You also need to produce heirs, this man cannot give you an heir, he’s not built for that and you know it."

Meical sighed, he needed to end this charade, Kaizar needed to eat breakfast.

"I’m sorry father. But I cannot annul this marriage and I will not. I love this man and I have no intention of letting him go. 10 years ago I walked away from this family, from your family of four because there was no place for me, I no longer see myself as part of this family and it’s affairs no longer concern me. If you raise your sword, I will raise mine. Fight against me and I will kill you."

Tatiana flinched at Meical’s words, her mouth opening in outrage.

"You dare threaten your own father?!"

"He id not my father.." Meical said, voice low, steady, cutting. "He’s just the man who contributed to my birth. Nothing more."

Aleksandr scoffed. "Listen to him. Ten years away and suddenly he thinks he’s better than everyone."

Min-jae didn’t even look at him. His eyes were locked on Andrey, and there was nothing soft in them.

"You all really believed you could walk in here.." Min-jae said, "spit on our marriage, insult him, insult me, and then expect compliance? Expect him to kneel? That time is over."

Andrey slammed his cane again.

"You are a child speaking over matters of elders.."

"I’m the person he sleeps beside.." Min-jae interrupted simply. "That makes me more relevant than any of you ever were."

Tatiana shot to her feet. "How shameless can you be?! Speaking so filthily..."

"I only match the tone you set.." Min-jae replied with a shrug.

Andrey leaned forward, pointing the cane directly at Meical this time.

"So this is the life you choose? A man with no womb, no lineage, no ability to give you an heir? You would let the Vukasin line end with you?"
