Chapter 425: “ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME”
The sky of Aetheris was no longer a sky.
It had become a chasm of broken laws — fragments of reality collapsing and reforming under the will of two beings beyond comprehension.
Aegon, the Sovereign Dragon, still in the mortal shell of Christopher, stood amid a tempest of ruptured space. His golden eyes burned with twin galaxies of wrath and majesty. Before him towered the Eternal of Dominion, the embodiment of supremacy, a being whose presence alone could cause the mortal world to kneel.
Dominion's voice cracked the firmament.
"You, false god, dare wield draconic divinity against me?!"
"Me? A false god?"
Aegon's smirk was almost pitying. Scales has begun shimmering faintly through Christopher's body— translucent gold streaking across his neck and shoulders as his aura flared into something ancient, primordial, and terrible.
"You call it divinity…" Aegon's tone was soft, yet it silenced storms. "But what I carry is sovereignty. You rule over dominion, Eternal — I am dominion's origin."
"Lies!!!"
Dominion's response was a scream that tore the world. His colossal hand rose, gripping the entire sky as the Law of Submission condensed into a spiraling storm of command and annihilation. A thousand chains of cosmic light burst forth, all descending toward Aegon.
But Aegon didn't move.
He simply whispered,
"Kneel."
The chains stopped midair.
A pulse of draconic authority rippled outward — not energy, but sheer ancestral will. The Eternal's attack broke apart like shattered glass as Aegon's presence pressed through every atom of existence.
"Oh, it seems like I have regained some of my powers back"
"You are not worthy to speak before the blood of the Sovereigns, time to put this charade to an end" Aegon murmured.
The Eternal of Dominion's enormous form convulsed, trying to resist, but his body began to collapse inward — the concept of dominion itself being consumed by Aegon's command. Light burst from his eyes, mouth, and chest as he screamed,
"This is impossible—! I am—"
"You are nothing"
The sentence never finished, or rather, it was completed by Aegon. In one blinding instant, the Eternal of Dominion was gone — erased from the record of existence. Only a whisper of dust and fading starlight remained.
Aegon lowered his hand slowly, his gaze calm yet burning with ancient disdain. "So ends another false monarch."
But then—he paused.
Something rippled through the air — a pulse, faint but distinct. It wasn't from the dying remnants of the Eternal's energy. It was something familiar. Draconic.
Aegon's expression shifted subtly. His golden pupils thinned into sharp slits as he turned his gaze toward the distant battlefield below the ruptured plains.
Far away — beyond the veil of collapsing skies — Kaelen Dragonyx stood with his allies against Endless, the monstrous being whose hatred for the Twelve Concepts had warped into oblivion.
Aegon could feel it: the essence that pulsed within Kaelen's veins.
Ancient. Familial.
A remnant of the same blood that once shaped the Sovereigns themselves.
"Interesting…" Aegon murmured, a faint grin tugging at his lips. "So the lost blood still flows. I can't believe that this kid actually carry the echo of our lineage"
The Sovereign Dragon's eyes glowed brighter as the dying winds of Dominion's erasure scattered. "Let's see what you've become."
And with that, Aegon's attention lingered on Kaelen — the new storm rising on the opposite front.
-----
"I am Endless!!"
Across the ruined plains, Endless's roar ripped through the void, his form expanding with chaotic darkness that devoured light. His corrupted aura pulsed with hatred and despair, making even seasoned warriors tremble.
Kaelen and his allies stood battered — bruised, bloodied, but unyielding.
Charlotte's Divine Shield had cracked in five places, glowing faintly as she braced herself before Kaelen.
Eirana, her Juggernaut core flaring violently, gritted her teeth, her armor fractured and steaming.
Guinevere's flames flickered weakly, her eyes locked on the abyssal giant before them.
Lila and Kelvin stood close to Kaelen, their weapons drawn, their mana nearly drained.
Even Rodriguez, Ethan, and Morris looked at Endless with grim exhaustion, their energy spent but their resolve burning. Even Drake and Neana who just came as backup were immediately sent flying back to where they came from by Endless.
"Kaelen… this thing—" Lila gasped, sweat dripping down her face.
"I know," Kaelen said, his voice tight with pain. "But we can't back down."
Endless's laughter reverberated, thick and broken, like stone grinding against steel.
"You think your courage means anything? I've seen the rise and fall of gods! I've drowned civilizations in their own faith!"
"And now, I alone will be the birth of a new Era!!"
Right after that, Endless slammed his clawed hand down, and the entire field exploded into darkness.
Charlotte threw her shield forward, roaring, "Divine Wall!"
A massive barrier of holy light materialized — but it shattered under Endless's blow, sending shockwaves that flung them back like rag dolls.
"Urgh!!"
Kaelen hit the ground hard, blood spilling from his lips. His vision blurred as Eternity's voice echoed faintly within him.
"You can't keep this up, Kaelen. This battle— it's beyond you. You have to take the fragment from Kelvin if you want to change any of this"
But despite what Eternity is telling him, forced himself to his knees, glaring at Endless.
"I don't care…" he whispered. "Even if I die, I'm ending this."
But right at that moment, something totally unexpected happened.
The moment his will refused to bend — something deep within him broke free.
His blood burned.
His veins turned to molten light.
A pulse of golden-blue and a dark red essence erupted from his heart, and the world around him stilled.
"ARGH!!!!"
Endless froze mid-strike, his eyes widening. The clouds tore apart as a column of energy shot upward from Kaelen's body, tearing through the heavens while he screamed his lungs out. Scales — faint, ethereal, and radiant — shimmered along his arms. His hair flared white-gold. His eyes turned into luminous rings of eternity and dragonfire.
Eternity gasped from within him.
"By the First Flame… Kaelen… you've become whole!"
After a while and everything slowly calmed down, Kaelen rose slowly from the crater, his aura no longer burning, but flowing. Calm. Infinite. His feet hovered above the ground as the battlefield trembled under his presence.
Endless staggered back, his immense form trembling as he has begun to have instinctive fear towards Kaelen. "You… what are you?"
It took sometime for Kaelen to speak as he seems to soak in what just happened to him into his being.
But the moment he did, Kaelen's voice was soft but carried through the void.
"I am Kaelen Dragonyx… the Avatar of Eternity."
The words rippled like a decree through all existence.
Light spread from him like waves in water, touching his friends — Lila, Guinevere, Charlotte, Eirana, Kelvin, Morris, Rodriguez, Ethan — one by one as they were drawned in shock and curiosity.
Their fatigue vanished.
Their wounds healed.
Their mana ignited again, burning purer and stronger than before.
Drake and Neana, still far off, felt it too — that divine pulse, the echo of an infinite source.
"What... What is happening to us?" Morris hurriedly asked in shock when he felt alive again.
But Lila was the most familiar of Kaelen's mana which made her gasped, clutching her chest as she looked at Kaelen while her mana flared, "Kaelen… this is… you?"
Kaelen turned to her, a faint, calm smile on his face.
"Yes. What you feel flowing through you… it's me. Eternity doesn't just exist within — it exists through. You're all connected to me now."
Eirana flexed her arm, her Juggernaut energy surging beyond mortal limits. "So this is what infinity feels like," she murmured.
Charlotte's shield glowed brilliantly, her eyes widening. "My divine core— it's resonating perfectly. You're healing the world itself, Kaelen."
Kaelen nodded slowly, his eyes lifting toward the distant heavens — where he could feel not only Aegon's gaze, ancient and knowing, fixed upon him, but also the strange link he seems to have with the being that took over Christophers body.
'It seems like my existence has become more complicated than I imagined'
And from high above, the Sovereign Dragon smiled faintly, whispering across the planes:
"So… This kid was actually tied to me all this while, now I wonder how that is possible"
But at that moment, The winds screamed again. Endless roared in fury, "Utter Bullshit!!! I refuse to yield to no one, not to the twelve concepts, not to the strange being up in the skies, and most of all, not ever to you!!"
"Well, if you don't want to give up this futile effort of yours, then I will just force you to" But the Avatar of Eternity — Kaelen Dragonyx — muttered in a dominant tone as he finally stepped forward, radiant and resolute, to face the storm once more, but before that, he muttered with his right hand tightly clenched on his blade of eternity.
"It's about damn time"
"NO!! I WILL NOT GIVE IN!!" Endless yelled out from the top of his lungs as he dashed towards Kaelen in hopes of taking the advantage. But all Kaelen did in response was to lift up his left arm, and before Endless could even figure out if he should go all out, he saw his forehead resting fully on Kaelen's left palm.
"Ho... How?" Endless muttered in bewilderment, but Kaelen just answered in one word before everything went dark for him.
"Rest".
