Chapter 2135: Chapter 1704: Unlucky Zombie (Double-Length)
Su Ran pondered for a moment, unable to resist the allure of the Prison Boundary Stone, deciding to take a risk. Rubbing against it with his hip shouldn’t be deemed theft by the system, as he’d done it many times before and was confident in his approach.
If he could get hold of the Prison Boundary Stone, so what if it was deemed theft? Even if he were to be tied up for three days and nights, he’d be willing!
“Overturning Water, what are you up to?”
Seeing Su Ran approaching the Prison Boundary Stone, Zombie Resurrection was a bit surprised. As if realizing something, his expression changed, and he repeatedly tried to dissuade, “This Prison Boundary Stone must never be dug up, you’ll be punished!”
“I’m not digging it up, just having a little rub.”
Su Ran got closer, thrusting his lower back forward against the Prison Boundary Stone right in front of Zombie Resurrection. Unfortunately, the system didn’t grant him the opportunity to exploit this loophole; the Prison Boundary Stone remained entirely still, shattering his hopes of getting away with it.
“Overturning Water, your sudden sauciness nearly threw out my back… Do you have some kind of special kink?”
Zombie Resurrection looked at Su Ran with a peculiar expression, clamping his thighs together reflexively.
“I just wanted to see if there was any tree sap left, where’s your mind at?”
Su Ran, long accustomed to being misunderstood, said indifferently, “There’s nothing for me to do here, so I’m heading off. Just hang tight, the system will let you down sooner or later…”
Before he could finish, the ropes disappeared on the spot, and Zombie Resurrection fell to the ground.
“Haha, Overturning Water, you were right!”
Having regained his freedom, Zombie Resurrection’s face beamed with excitement. Not bothering to dust himself off, he rushed back to the Prison Boundary Stone and used his theft skill again.
However.
The ropes reappeared, once again binding Zombie Resurrection, leaving him suspended in mid-air.
“Zombie Resurrection, are you some kind of clown sent by monkeys?”
Su Ran didn’t even know what to say. Knowing full well that stealing the Prison Boundary Stone would get him caught, yet still trying to steal it — wasn’t that just stupid?
“Cough, cough, who would’ve thought I’d fail again…”
Having gone through this once before, Zombie Resurrection had gained some experience and didn’t even struggle this time. His expression was calm, “Overturning Water, I’m prepared for a long fight. I’ll keep at it with the Prison Boundary Stone until I steal it, then I’ll return to the Imperial City!”
“Alright then, take your time here. I won’t be keeping you company. Good luck!”
After saying this, Su Ran left the area, leaving Zombie Resurrection alone in the Ice Hell.
“Overturning Water, why are you leaving in such a hurry? You could stay and chat with me!”
Now bound alone, Zombie Resurrection felt instantly lonely and cold, but seeing the Prison Boundary Stone below reignited his fighting spirit.
For this Prison Boundary Stone, it’s worth it!
…
Su Ran returned to the Desert of Death, heading towards the Ancient Wasteland.
This time, he planned to venture into the Demon Realm, in search of the Dark Demon Water to hatch the Undying Demon Bird!
If not for the Ice Hell incident, he might have already been exploring the Demon Realm by now?
No sooner had he walked a short distance when a message from a friend chimed in. Opening it, he saw it was from Nan Qiang.
“Overturning Brother, have you seen Zombie Resurrection? Why can’t I reach him?”
“He’s still in the Ice Hell, fixated on that Prison Boundary Stone.”
Su Ran explained the situation with the Prison Boundary Stone to Nan Qiang before continuing, “I reckon it’ll take him at least ten days to half a month to come out. If you really want to see him, you’ll have to head to the Ice Hell.”
“Prison Boundary Stone… Got it.”
Soon after closing the chat with Brother Nan Qiang, Wan’er’s cheerful voice sounded from behind him.
“Little Brother Su, why are you here alone? Not going to the Ice Hell?”
“The business at the Ice Hell is done. I’m planning to take on a quest in the Demon Realm.”
Su Ran looked around before chuckling wryly, “Sister Xiaosheng, could you stop shouting my name in the game? Aren’t you already exposing my identity quickly enough?”
“Look at you being scared. There’s no one else around here!”
Wan’er walked over, curiously asked, “So, did you solve that NPC problem? What word did the riddle end up being?”
“It’s the word ‘one’.”
Su Ran recounted the riddle-solving process with a smile, “I managed to take down Mengsini, that’s the biggest gain in the Ice Hell!”
“So it’s ‘One creates all’. Overturning Water, I knew you could do it!”
Wan’er’s eyes shone with excitement, “Congratulations on recruiting another general, your territory is getting stronger!”
“It’s still far from competing with the Imperial City.”
“Pfft, that’s the main city of the Human Race! Your territory hasn’t even been in development for a year, and you want to surpass the Imperial City? Ambitious much?”
Wan’er rolled her eyes, surprised by Overturning Water’s far-reaching ambitions – to a point of being outrageous.
“I will surpass them one day.”
Su Ran knew in his heart that with the foundation laid, one day his territory would be feared by gods and demons alike!
He had that confidence, Skeleton Village would surely outdo any major city!
“…”
Wan’er didn’t hit Su Ran’s confidence much, instead saying encouragingly, “Overturning Water, I believe in you. You’ll succeed.”
“Sister Xiaosheng, if there’s nothing else, I’m heading off to do the quest in the Demon Realm.”
“I’ve got a quest to do there too, let’s tag along together then.”
…
Ice Hell.
At this moment, Zombie Resurrection was dangling in mid-air, idly whiling away the time. Unexpectedly, not far from him, several beams of teleportation light flashed on an empty ground. As the light dissipated, a dozen unfamiliar players came into view.
“Damn, it wasn’t easy, but we finally found this Ice Hell!”
The leader, a fire-element mage, conveyed through his grumbling tone that the search for the Ice Hell hadn’t been without hardship.
“Hey? Beidou President, look there, there’s someone tied up!”
The shield warrior next to the fire mage pointed at the hanging Zombie Resurrection and asked in surprise, “Is this a player or an NPC?”
“That guy’s wearing gear, how could he be an NPC? Never thought he’d get here before us. Let’s go meet him!”
With the fire mage leading, the group moved underneath Zombie Resurrection.
“Friend, need help?”
The fire mage spoke first, putting on a harmless facade.
“Who are you guys?”
Zombie Resurrection looked at the players warily, feeling somehow that they had a deceptive air—particularly this fire mage, who felt especially threatening.
“I’m Beidou Star, president of the Starry Guild.”
Beidou Star looked at Zombie Resurrection with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, “May I ask your name and where you are based, friend?”
“Zombie Resurrection, just a nobody, no need to trouble yourself, President.”
“Oh, don’t be rude! President Beidou talks to you nicely, and you should appreciate it. Don’t get ahead of yourself!”
“Look at your gear, not a single valuable piece, why the act?”
“What a nutcase, Boss, let’s leave him!”
Hearing that Zombie Resurrection wasn’t even in a guild, the group’s attitude shifted quickly to sarcasm, mocking him before Beidou Star intervened.
“How rude!”
Beidou Star scolded quietly, maintaining a false smile, “Brother Zombie Resurrection, excuse my crass friends.”
“No problem, human nature.”
Zombie Resurrection responded calmly, his expression unchanged, leaving others guessing at his true thoughts.
“Brother Zombie Resurrection, if there’s anything we can help with, just say it. Don’t be shy. It’s not right to leave you tied like that, right?”
“Thank you for your kindness, President Beidou, but I can handle this little matter myself.”
“If that’s the case, I won’t force you. Brother Zombie Resurrection, since you arrived here earlier, you must’ve gained quite a few benefits, right?”
Seeing that Zombie Resurrection wasn’t biting, Beidou Star went straight to the point.
The other members tried to intimidate Zombie Resurrection, implying that if he didn’t comply, they wouldn’t be so kind.
“Benefits? No wonder… Alright, let’s not say there’s no good in it. I did find a precious treasure, but it’s too much for one person to handle alone. I’m not sure if President Beidou would be interested?”
“A treasure?!”
Beidou Star’s eyes lit up, suddenly interested. Curiously, he asked, “So there’s a hidden treasure in this Ice Hell? Tell me quickly, Brother Zombie Resurrection!”
