Chapter 239: The Slime Nest, Two Half-Gods
CHAPTER 239: CHAPTER 239: THE SLIME NEST, TWO HALF-GODS
Jack was secretly thinking to himself as he glanced at Johnnie.
But the moment he met Johnnie’s cold eyes, a chill ran through him—it felt like Johnnie had seen right through his thoughts.
Jack gave an awkward smile and didn’t dare say anything more.
Johnnie really was thinking about killing him, and with his soul attack abilities, he could wipe Jack out completely.
But Jack was still useful for now—at least until they found Blade King City and rescued Cecilia.
Looking at the ground covered in broken Slime corpses, Johnnie said."Let’s deal with that Half-God-level Slime leader first."
They were already close to the Slime nest, and to advance The Mage of the Five Elements again, Johnnie needed to kill a huge number of Elemental Slimes anyway.
Jack quickly spoke up."Master, the Slime nest is nearby, but I don’t know exactly where. The Slime leader is a Divine powerhouse. Any living creature that comes near this place disappears completely—including Demon race adventurers like us."
Johnnie frowned. Did that mean the Slime leader could totally erase players too?
He wasn’t afraid and said."If that’s the case, I’ll just fight my way through."
If he killed enough Slimes, the Domain-level Slime leader would definitely show up.
The group kept moving forward, running into more and more Slimes—all of them at stage 7 strength.
Johnnie used his Myriad Sword Technique, instantly killing Slimes left and right in a frenzy.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, magic roared through the forest and several magic attacks came flying at them.
These Slimes were actually attacking first.
"Boss, let me have some fun!" Benz couldn’t hold back anymore. Before Johnnie could answer, he rushed out with his giant axe raised.
But almost instantly, his speed dropped—he was standing in a patch of sticky liquid. It was like he was trapped in a swamp, sinking deeper with every step, unable to move.
"What the heck?" Benz struggled hard, but it was no use.
Whoosh...
At that moment, several huge Slimes leapt up and came crashing down toward him.
"You wanna die?" Benz yelled, completely unafraid. He swung his giant axe down with all his strength.
Splat!
A damage number flashed, but the Slime wasn’t killed in one hit.
Bang!
Instead, Benz got hit by the Slime and sank even deeper into the goo.
Then, a bunch of vines shot out, wrapping tightly around Benz and dragging him into the slime.
These Slimes were much stronger—they were actually stage 8 Demonic Creatures!
"Boss, help me!" Benz shouted in a panic, calling out to Johnnie.
Nalorin·Sylvia raised her hand, her sword flying up, ready to attack the Slimes.
"Wait!" Johnnie stopped her right away. Benz was already wrapped up in slime and vines, and a few Slimes were dragging him, bouncing deeper into the forest.
It looked like they wanted to take Benz straight to the Slime nest.
That actually saved them some trouble.
Jack only knew the nest was somewhere nearby, but he didn’t know the exact spot.
"Let’s go. We’ll get caught on purpose and let them take us in." Johnnie said, deciding not to resist.
Nalorin·Sylvia looked at the sticky slime in front of her—it was bubbling and looked like snot.
She frowned, clearly disgusted, and hesitated.
Johnnie said."You can go back into the Map of Heaven and Earth. I’ll summon you if I need help."
"No, I’d rather stay. If something dangerous happens, I might not make it in time if I’m inside. I want to protect you right by your side." she said firmly, then stepped right into the slime.
"Master, I really don’t want to go in there." the Red Carp said, but quickly turned into the Dragon Patterned Sword and hid inside Johnnie’s body.
Johnnie didn’t mind. He just stepped into the slime as well.
His body kept sinking, and more and more Slimes came over, bouncing like big rubber balls and crashing down on them.
Then, more Entangling Vines shot over, wrapping up Johnnie and the others.
"Master, are you sure you can really kill a Domain? Our Demon race has sent many strong people here, but none of them ever came back." Jack said, worried. He’d already decided that if things got really dangerous, he’d call his father for help.
His dad, Weyldon, was also a Half-God. He might not be able to kill the Slime leader, but he could definitely rescue Jack if needed.
Johnnie ignored all this, just letting the Slimes drag him along.
The vines were tough and strong, but there was no way they could really hold him or Nalorin·Sylvia—they could break free anytime.
Bang, bang!
Bumping and bouncing along the way, Johnnie and his group were dragged deep into the forest, until they came to a dark, creepy cave.
This had to be the Slime nest.
Screeech...
Inside the cave, there was a constant, sharp screeching noise. The ground was covered with Slimes, most of them small—baby Slimes.
Johnnie saw piles of bones inside the cave, some from Demonic Creatures, and some that looked human.
A few Slimes were lying on top of broken Demonic Creature bodies, sucking up the flesh and blood, and growing bigger right in front of their eyes.
It looked like Johnnie’s group had just become food for these Slimes!
But the Slimes weren’t in any hurry to eat them. Instead, wrapped in slime and vines, Johnnie and the others were hung up on the cave wall.
There were a few others already wrapped up like dumplings nearby—they seemed to be humans, probably Demon race adventurers.
Johnnie could feel a powerful presence—this had to be the Slime nest, and the Slime leader was definitely here.
He stopped pretending and got ready to fight.
"Johnnie, is... is that you?" Suddenly, a weak voice came from nearby.
"Hm? Elder Yett Senior!" Johnnie looked over and was shocked to see the person tied up beside him.
It was Atlas!
Johnnie had come here to save Cecilia and look for Atlas and the others. He didn’t expect to run into them right now.
Finn and Bellina were also trapped here.
It seemed they had entered the Slime nest and been captured too.
All of them looked very weak.
Johnnie noticed something strange—the vines wrapped around them were actually draining their Life Force. If their Life Force ran out, they might really die for good.
"Sylvia, let’s move!" Johnnie called out. He used Fire-Control and flames rose up around him, melting the vines away.
After that, Johnnie freed Atlas and the others.
Atlas was still okay—he was strong enough to resist the vines for a while.
But Finn and Bellina were in bad shape. If Johnnie hadn’t come in time, they probably wouldn’t have made it.
"Maiev, help heal them." Johnnie quickly put all three into the Map of Heaven and Earth.
Maiev was the Goddess of Life and knew the Rules of Life, so healing them would be no problem.
"Kill them all—don’t leave a single one!" Johnnie raised his hand, flames shooting up again as he rescued Benz and Jack, his voice cold.
"Boss, I was just waiting for that!" Benz wiped the slime from his face, furious, and charged at the weaker Slimes.
Jack didn’t hesitate either—fire swept out from his hands.
But the strongest were still Johnnie and Nalorin·Sylvia.
A flash of cold light, snowflakes swirling, and the small Slimes were smashed to pieces.
Screech, screech...
The air was filled with sharp screams as the Slimes panicked and scattered.
"Stop!" A furious shout came from deep in the cave. Several powerful stage 9 Slimes appeared, leaping at Johnnie’s group.
Slash—
A few sword flashes later, before they could even land, their huge bodies were ripped apart and turned into puddles of slime.
"Let’s go!" Johnnie didn’t slow down, heading straight for the depths of the cave.
More Slimes kept coming, but none of them could stand up to Johnnie’s attacks.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a giant fire dragon shot out, covering almost the whole cave and roaring towards Johnnie and the others.
"Master, careful! It’s a Domain!" Nalorin·Sylvia warned, quickly jumping to the front. Her Stellar Sword danced, snowflakes filled the air, and the fire dragon slowly melted away.
"How dare you humans barge into my territory!" a childish voice echoed through the cave.
There were two Slime leaders.
Johnnie looked around and his face changed.
There were actually two powerful Slime leaders here, both the size of trucks—one bright red, one pale blue, both giving off a terrifying aura.
Both of them were Divine powerhouses!
But they were just Half-Gods—not unbeatable.
"Go!" Johnnie didn’t waste any time. He summoned the Dark Golden Golem and called out the Seven Swords, turning them into seven cold flashes that shot toward the fiery red Slime leader.
"Hm! The Mechanical Race’s Domain!" That childish voice rang out again, sounding a bit more serious this time. The huge Slime leapt up and slammed down hard.
Boom!
The Dark Golden Golem was knocked flying right away, unable to fight back, but it wasn’t really hurt.
Buzz!
Sword Intent vibrated through the air. Cold light flashed and snowflakes filled the cave as Johnnie and Nalorin·Sylvia attacked at the same time.
-898100
-142600000
...
Several damage numbers flashed above the Slimes’ heads.
Johnnie could only do about 890,000 true damage, but Nalorin·Sylvia’s hit did over 100 million!
Domain-level power was terrifying.
"You’re looking for death!" an angry shout came from the pale blue Slime, who suddenly attacked Nalorin·Sylvia.
"Human, become food for my people!" The fiery red Slime charged at Johnnie, not hesitating at all.
Whoosh...
Flames exploded and water surged. Two totally different powers clashed, and the whole cave was instantly filled with thick mist.
This wasn’t normal elemental power.
Johnnie’s sight and spiritual sense were both blocked.
Luckily, the Dark Golden Golem stayed by his side, always protecting him.
Boom, boom...
Through the fog, huge dark red fireballs came flying, smashing into the Dark Golden Golem.
The temperature around them shot up, and the air became scorching hot.
Cracks started to appear all over the Golem’s metal body.
-1000000
-1000000
...
Johnnie saw damage numbers flashing over his head—he was losing a million health points every second.
But he didn’t panic. He focused on where the fireballs were coming from and controlled the Seven Swords to attack like crazy.
Splat, splat...
Even in the mist, more damage numbers kept popping up—each close to a million.
But against a Half-God, with hundreds of billions of health points, this kind of damage was barely a scratch for the Slime leader.
