Chapter 260: Bone-Eroding Poison, Seven Sword’s Corrosion
CHAPTER 260: CHAPTER 260: BONE-ERODING POISON, SEVEN SWORD’S CORROSION
Hum!
The Intent of the Sword kept humming. Johnnie grew paler and paler, but he still forced himself to control the Seven Sword, attacking Poison Venerable of the Five Greats and Blade King again and again.
The two of them were terrified. Every time the flying swords fell, they felt death closing in, as if the next second would be their last.
That feeling—death at any moment—was shredding their nerves.
"Human, how about letting me go? I can give you a National Founding Decree," Blade King said, truly scared now, trying to bargain.
"I can give you an artifact," Poison Venerable of the Five Greats added quickly.
Cough!
Johnnie couldn’t help spitting out blood again. He swayed on his feet.
"Master!" Maiev hurried to support him, worry written on her face.
Seeing this, Blade King and Poison Venerable’s eyes lit up.
Johnnie was even worse off than they thought. If they could recover a bit more power, they might even kill him.
"Human, I can also give you an Ganoderma lucidum. It can heal your soul wounds," Poison Venerable said again.
He had no intention of trading. He was just stalling.
"Hmph. If you die, all of that will still be mine," Johnnie said, unmoved.
Poison Venerable sneered. "Human, you might be disappointed. We aren’t natives of the Land of Confusion. We’re players, same as you. Our valuable items aren’t on us—they’re stored in the warehouse. And we don’t drop them on death."
"You’re not NPCs?" Johnnie frowned. Thinking of the Divine powerhouses he had killed before, he asked, "Then you can’t revive after you die?"
Poison Venerable explained, "The laws of this world protect ordinary weak people. But once you reach Domain, you’re no longer protected by those laws. The only upside is that after we die, our Divine Soul can regroup faster. In just one month, it can form a new body."
So you lose the world’s protection after becoming a godlike Domain?
Johnnie hadn’t known this rule.
In his last life, he never became a Divine powerhouse. He’d only heard that Domain revival took longer.
So that "longer time" is the Divine Soul rebuilding a body.
"Hand over Cecilia, and maybe I’ll spare you," Johnnie said coldly.
"Cecilia? That woman?" Blade King frowned. "Human, it’s not that I won’t agree. She just isn’t here."
Not here?
Johnnie’s brows knit. Blade King City had already been destroyed, and he indeed couldn’t sense Cecilia’s aura.
"Where is she now?" he pressed.
Blade King shook his head coldly and said nothing more.
"Looks like you really aren’t afraid to die!" Johnnie snapped. He fought through the searing pain in his soul and kept the Seven Sword attacking—this time focusing on Poison Venerable of the Five Greats. He wanted to pressure Blade King into giving up Cecilia’s whereabouts.
"Human, your soul is badly hurt too, isn’t it? I want to see how long you can last!" Poison Venerable of the Five Greats saw Johnnie wouldn’t budge, so he gave up and gathered his last bit of power to block the flying swords as best he could.
Johnnie’s face darkened—he really was at his limit.
"Master, can the Dark Golden Golem control the Seven Sword?" Nalorin Sylvia asked, as if recalling something.
Huh?
Johnnie’s eyes lit up. That should work.
The Dark Golden Golem was driven by a split of his own mind, so it should count as the Seven Sword’s master too.
"Dark Golden Golem, try it." He looked at the golem standing nearby and sent the Seven Sword over.
The Dark Golden Golem nodded, took the Seven Sword, and tried to control it.
Hum!
It worked.
The Intent of the Sword hummed. Flashes of cold light stabbed at Poison Venerable of the Five Greats and Blade King.
Johnnie let out a long breath and finally couldn’t hold on. He fell to the ground, the stabbing pain in his head growing worse.
Poison Venerable and Blade King both went pale. It looked like this time they were done for.
"Dark Golden, kill that Poison Venerable of the Five Greats first," Johnnie said coldly. Blade King was still useful—he had to force Cecilia’s whereabouts out of him.
The Dark Golden Golem understood and drove the Seven Sword at full power, striking Poison Venerable of the Five Greats.
Pfft, pfft...
Damage numbers flickered.
Poison Venerable’s face twisted in fear. He gritted his teeth and shouted, "Human, I’ll give you one more chance. Let me go, or I’ll go all out and take you with me!"
A threat?
Johnnie sneered. He didn’t care.
"Bastard!"
Poison Venerable cursed, glanced at Blade King—who was keeping his eyes shut, pretending to be dead—and knew the man had no plan to tell Johnnie where Cecilia was.
He knew Cecilia’s location too, but he didn’t dare say it.
"Human, if that’s how it is, then we die together. Bone-Eroding Poison!" Poison Venerable roared. His aura exploded, and a thick gray poison fog quickly gathered.
"Not good, that’s power from the Divine Soul’s source!" Maiev’s face changed. Without hesitation, she spread her Life Domain to cover Johnnie and block the fog.
She cultivated the Rules of Life, which naturally counters poison attacks.
"No, his target is the Seven Sword!" Nalorin Sylvia yelled after seeing where the fog was surging.
The Dark Golden Golem sensed it too and tried to pull the Seven Sword back, but it was already too late.
Hum!
The poison fog clung to the Seven Sword like bone-eating worms, spreading fast and wrapping all seven flying swords.
The Seven Sword turned pitch-black in an instant, filled with a strange, evil aura.
[Ding, the Seven Sword has been tainted by the poison fog. Attributes greatly reduced; Instant Kill effect sealed]
The prompts flashed.
Johnnie’s face tightened. The Seven Sword’s Instant Kill effect was sealed.
That was his only trump card to kill Domains!
"Damn it!" Johnnie snarled. "Maiev, Sylvia—don’t hold back. Kill him."
Without the Seven Sword, he could hardly threaten a Divine powerhouse, even a badly wounded Domain.
"Yes!" The two women struck without hesitation. Arrows screamed, sword light surged, and they went for Poison Venerable of the Five Greats.
Pfft!
Each strike dealt hundreds of millions in damage.
Both women were Half-God level. Poison Venerable was badly hurt, and after burning his Divine Soul’s source just now, his injuries got worse. He couldn’t block their attacks at all, and his Health points crashed.
"Remove the poison from the Seven Sword and I’ll spare you," Johnnie said coldly.
"Hmph, dream on. You think you can kill me?" Poison Venerable scoffed, unmoved. He had already decided to abandon this body.
Johnnie’s gaze was icy. He really had no way to handle him.
Pfft!
Arrows filled the sky, sword light flashed, and Poison Venerable didn’t last long. His Health points hit zero and he was killed, dropping only a divine essence.
Hum!
Poison Venerable’s Divine Soul flew out. He looked at Johnnie and said coldly, "Boy, I’ll remember this. I’ll pay you back a hundredfold!"
Then he turned to Blade King. "Blade King, you owe me one!"
Blade King frowned, and before he could answer, Poison Venerable’s Divine Soul fled into the distance.
"Damn it!"
Johnnie cursed through clenched teeth, but there was nothing he could do. He had no way to kill a Divine Soul and could only watch Poison Venerable escape.
"Now it’s your turn." He looked over at Blade King and spoke coldly.
Blade King shut his eyes like a man facing death. "Human, you won’t get that woman’s whereabouts from me. Just do it."
Johnnie frowned. This was tricky.
He couldn’t deal with Divine Souls. Even if he killed Blade King, the guy would form a new body in a month and lose nothing.
"Coco, can we pull this guy into the Map of Heaven and Earth?" Johnnie asked in his mind.
Coco replied quickly, "Yes, but you need to break the divine power around him first."
The Map of Heaven and Earth can’t take in a divine powerhouse because their Domain keeps a shield of divine power around them.
If that shield is broken, the Map can easily pull the Blade King inside.
Then Johnnie could use the Map’s illusion realm to slowly wear him down.
That illusion is special—even divine powerhouses can’t resist it.
"Maiev, Sylvia, break his divine power," Johnnie ordered, while summoning the Map of Heaven and Earth. The scroll unfurled, and a strong pulling force spread out.
"Hm? Human, what are you trying to do?" The Blade King’s face changed when he saw the Map. He sensed a great threat from it.
Johnnie didn’t answer. Maiev and Nalorin Sylvia struck at once.
The Blade King was already hurt, and their attacks easily shattered the divine power around him. His body was pulled toward the Map of Heaven and Earth.
"Not good!" His face twisted. A bad feeling hit him—if he got pulled in, he might never get out.
He struggled with all his might, but without his divine power it was useless. In a blink, the Map swallowed him.
"Coco, use the illusion to torture him until he submits," Johnnie said in his mind.
"Got it," Coco answered, then formed the illusion and began to torment the Blade King.
Only then did Johnnie breathe out. He slumped to the ground, feeling weak, and looked over at Seven Sword, now tainted by a poison mist.
Seven Sword was stuck in the earth. Its blade was pitch-black, wrapped in poison fog, and even the ground nearby was stained by it.
"Master, don’t touch it," Maiev quickly warned as Johnnie reached out. "This poison mist is special and highly contagious. If you touch it, it will spread to you."
Johnnie frowned. "Is there a way to cleanse it?"
The two women shook their heads. The Poison Venerable of the Five Greats cultivates poison laws—they didn’t understand that power and couldn’t remove it.
To cleanse the poison on Seven Sword, you’d need the Poison Venerable himself, or another divine powerhouse who cultivates poison laws.
But that was near impossible.
"My lord, maybe I can try," the Dark Golden Golem said. "I’m not afraid of poison, and I have a stomach converter. I might be able to refine and absorb these toxins."
Johnnie’s eyes lit up. This poison mist was a kind of special power too—the stomach converter should be able to refine it.
"Give it a try," he said.
