CHAPTER 271: CHAPTER 271: HEALTH BOOST, FIGHT PITILESS AGAIN

"So strong!" The Crimson Soul Demon was a little shocked by what it saw.

It could clearly feel that Johnnie’s power had grown a lot. He might really be able to kill it.

Only a few months had passed. How could this human’s growth be so scary?

The Myriad Sword Technique burned Mana points like crazy, but even so, in less than two days Johnnie wiped out the millions of Blood Spirits around him.

He looked at the Crimson Soul Demon and said coldly, "Keep making Blood Spirits, or I’ll kill you right now"

Gulp!

The Crimson Soul Demon swallowed hard. It didn’t dare resist and obediently condensed more Blood Spirits.

These Blood Spirits were nothing to it. As long as it had enough Crimson Soul power, it could create as many as needed.

By now, Blood Spirit Pearls were scattered all over the ground.

Refining a Blood Spirit Pearl could raise Health points by 1.

Johnnie didn’t rush to pick them up and refine them. He summoned a squad of Mechanical Golems to clean the field, while he kept killing Blood Spirits.

Killing Blood Spirits didn’t always drop Blood Spirit Pearls. Only with his Lucky Master buff would they drop 100% of the time.

That’s why Johnnie didn’t let Maiev and the others do the killing.

...

Without noticing, seven days passed.

Johnnie slew over ten million Blood Spirits and refined the pearls. His Health points rose to more than 13 million.

It was still far from his previous peak, but not bad.

If the Crimson Soul Demon hadn’t slowed down in making Blood Spirit Pearls later on, he could have gotten even more.

"Time to deal with Pitiless" Johnnie stopped the slaughter. The Dark Golden Golem had already forced the Passion-Severing Mantra out of its body.

Pitiless had been badly hurt by his Sevenfold Severance and should not have recovered yet. This was the perfect time to strike.

With Sylvia, Maiev, and the Dark Golden Golem by his side, even if he couldn’t kill Pitiless, rescuing Cecilia should be easy.

Johnnie wanted to ask Skye to step in, but Skye’s power was too strong—far beyond this world’s limits.

With the Map of Heaven and Earth open, he could still strike down Half-Gods and Lesser Gods from afar.

But against Pitiless, a Highgod, he couldn’t one-shot her. If Celestial Wrath descended, Skye would be injured, and even the Map of Heaven and Earth would take damage.

Even so, Skye lent him his giant axe, Skybreaker.

"Kid, don’t underestimate a Highgod. With your strength, you can at best seriously injure her using my axe. And don’t you lose it again. Return it the moment you’re done!" Skye warned coldly, clearly still sore about Johnnie losing the shield.

"Got it, got it" Johnnie waved it off. With Skye’s axe, his confidence soared. "Let’s go. We’re saving Cecilia this time, no matter what"

Cecilia wasn’t in immediate danger, but Pitiless clearly had a hidden purpose for taking her.

Johnnie guessed it was tied to the atavistic Celestial Dragon she was carrying.

With Skye’s axe, plus Maiev, Nalorin Sylvia, and the Dark Golden Golem, even if they couldn’t kill Pitiless, they should be able to badly wound her and rescue Cecilia.

"My lord, this is the Passion-Severing Mantra" The Dark Golden Golem took out a small jade box and handed it to him.

Johnnie opened it curiously. Inside lay a clear, shining crystal shard, like a piece of transparent crystal.

"My lord, don’t touch it," the Dark Golden Golem quickly warned. "It’s a soul attack. If it touches your skin, it will merge into your soul at once"

Johnnie nodded and closed the box. This thing was too vicious. He wanted to destroy it, but it might still be useful, so he kept it.

He put the box away carefully. With a thought, he led the others out of the Map of Heaven and Earth and arrived in that sealed room.

Pitiless could lock down space and cut off his link to the Map of Heaven and Earth. If he waited to call in Maiev and the others until the fight started, he might lose the chance.

The moment Johnnie appeared, he felt a cold aura—and Pitiless showed herself.

"Kid, so you really do have the Map of Heaven and Earth!"

She wasn’t surprised they popped up out of nowhere.

She hadn’t watched the room nonstop, but the day after Johnnie vanished, she sensed it.

The room was sealed, so he couldn’t have slipped out quietly. She had guessed he carried some kind of space treasure.

"Hm? You dispelled the Passion-Severing Mantra?" Pitiless exclaimed, looking at Nalorin Sylvia in shock.

She knew better than anyone how scary that mantra was. It was a special soul attack. Once cursed, it couldn’t be undone. Only the Gastro‑sac Transmuter could swallow it, but that would just pass it to someone else—it still couldn’t be resolved.

Yet none of them were cursed.

"Human, you didn’t refine the Gastro‑sac Transmuter?" Pitiless asked suspiciously.

The Gastro‑sac Transmuter was powerful, almost able to boost strength without limit. If it weren’t so disgusting, she wouldn’t have given it to Mountain Hunter.

"Pitiless, hand over Cecilia and I’ll spare your life today!" Johnnie didn’t bother with more talk. He stepped forward, gripping Skye’s giant axe, his confidence rising.

"Hmph. With just you lot? Perfect—another woman is here. I can continue my experiment" Pitiless glanced at Maiev, didn’t take them seriously, and struck without hesitation.

Buzz!

Ice power gathered and turned into a rain of ice spikes, shooting at them in an instant.

"Master, careful!" Nalorin Sylvia warned, moving in front of Johnnie. Ice power gathered around her too, forming a shield that blocked the incoming spikes.

Whoosh!

The air shrieked as Maiev also moved. Several arrows flew—these weren’t energy constructs, but real arrows.

"Hmph, you’re overestimating yourselves" Pitiless sneered. A strange ripple of power spread from her body and easily shattered the arrows in flight.

"Cut!" With a shout, Johnnie raised the giant axe and brought it down hard—no fancy moves, just a brutal strike.

"Skye’s axe!" Pitiless recognized the weapon. Her face changed, and she didn’t dare take it head-on.

Buzz!

A spatial ripple flashed, and Pitiless suddenly vanished.

Boom!

The axe struck with a thunderous crash, and the ice-forged room shattered apart.

"Out first," Johnnie said, charging out ahead.

Whoosh!

A crushing pressure fell. Wind howled, snow filled the air, and a bone-deep chill spread over everything.

It was Domain power—Pitiless’s Ice Domain.

Johnnie and the others grew solemn and opened their own Domains without hesitation to block it: the Ashen Sword Domain, Maiev’s Life Domain, and Nalorin Sylvia’s Astral Sword Domain.

Even together, they only barely held back the Ice Domain. Their Domains were forced down to a circle of about a hundred meters around them and couldn’t spread.

"Hmph. Ants like you dare defy me?" Pitiless’s cold voice rang out. Snow whirled everywhere, heavy with killing intent. Each flake held deadly power—nothing like the ice-and-snow Domain Nalorin Sylvia had used.

Vmmm...

The air hummed. Their joined Domains trembled, as if they might collapse at any moment.

"I’ll do it!" Johnnie roared. He raised Skye’s axe high and slashed at Pitiless hanging in the air.

A huge arc of light blasted from the axe, tearing even the howling winds as it cut across the sky with unstoppable force.

Crack!

With a sharp snap, Pitiless’s Ice Domain was ripped open.

The power of Skye’s axe was simply terrifying.

"Damn you!" Pitiless’s face turned icy. "I meant to spare a few of you. Looks like I was being soft"

"Soft?"

Johnnie sneered. "Pitiless, you die today"

Skye’s giant axe howled in his hands. He hacked through the ice that kept forming and charged straight at Pitiless.

Nalorin Sylvia and Maiev followed close behind. Sword light flashed, and a flurry of arrows streaked over.

"Hmph, overconfident" Even surrounded, Pitiless looked utterly unimpressed. Her slender fingers moved, weaving a spell.

"Frost Dragon Scale Armor!" As her cool voice fell, countless ice crystals gathered into dragon scales, forming armor that wrapped around her body.

Clang, clang...

Heavy impacts rang out. Sword light and arrows rained down, but they did no damage.

Johnnie’s giant axe also came crashing down with tremendous force, but it still didn’t break the Dragon Scale Armor.

Even so, Pitiless was slightly hurt.

She had taken the Sevenfold Severance head-on last time, and her injuries still hadn’t healed.

Now facing Johnnie—though he couldn’t draw out the axe’s full power—it was still more than she could withstand.

"Mystic Ice Prison!" Pitiless’s cold voice sounded again.

Vmmm...

The ground buzzed and shook. Ridges of dark ice burst up and wove into a cage, trapping Johnnie and the others.

Bang!

Johnnie chopped at the ice in front of him, but the backlash drove him stumbling backward. The ice only showed a faint mark.

"Master, this is thousand-year dark ice. It’s insanely tough," Maiev warned.

The two women struck the ice, but didn’t even leave a mark.

Pitiless tapped the ice with her toe and hovered in the air. She looked at Johnnie with a playful smile. "Human, one last chance. Hand over the Skye axe and cooperate with my plan. Maybe I’ll spare your life"

"In your dreams!" Johnnie scoffed. He swung the giant axe again and again, hacking at the ice.

The dark ice was hard, but not unbreakable. With the Skye axe pounding it, cracks began to spread.

"Stubborn fools" Pitiless’s face went cold—she was truly angry. "In that case, stay here forever. Endless Ice Seal!"

Whoosh...

A freezing wind howled in, bringing a storm of snow and ice.

The cold cut to the bone. Johnnie felt like even his blood and soul were freezing. His swings slowed down.

"She wants to freeze us here—break out!" Maiev’s face changed. She tried her best to block it, but it was useless.

Crack, crack...

Snow swirled. Ice formed. In an instant, the three of them—and the Dark Golden Golem—were buried in ice and snow, sealed completely.
