CHAPTER 47: CHAPTER 47: ELISE

After getting intel about the [Berserk Blood Warrior] class change and picking up the [Broken Blood-Drinking Longsword], Ethan left the junkyard and hurried toward the item shop.

If he hadn’t happened to receive intel about Grimmount and made a deal with him, Ethan wouldn’t have gotten info on a hidden class that suited him so easily.

If a suitable hidden-class intel reward had dropped straight from killing monsters, it wouldn’t have been such a hassle.

Sadly, his luck had been a bit bad—none of the hidden-class intel that dropped fit him.

Thinking as he walked, Ethan soon returned to the item shop.

The moment he stepped inside, the shop owner, Elise, called out, "How did you get here from the respawn point so fast? Wait—did you not die?"

Elise’s light blue eyes fixed on Ethan. Her rosy lips parted as she stared in surprise.

"Don’t tell me you actually extorted Grimmount?"

Ethan nodded calmly. Extort Grimmount—no, make a deal with him—that wasn’t hard at all. He’d already done business with Grimmount more than once, he knew the drill.

Ethan took a necklace out of his [Inventory] and, as agreed, set it on the counter in front of Elise. He moved quickly, without a hint of hesitation.

He didn’t think of himself as a good person, but he did keep his word.

Elise just as quickly picked up the necklace, put it around her neck, let out a small breath, and her face relaxed.

Elise didn’t notice his subtle change. She said, "Where else? Don’t tell me you can’t, you know, do it?"

Ethan shook his head and answered firmly, "Of course not. Why are you asking?"

Elise’s light blue eyes lit up again. "Then it must be your talent. It lets you stay clear and rational, not affected by me."

Ethan didn’t explain. His talent, [Pain Resistance], did keep his head cool.

[Pain Resistance (Blue-quality)]: Raises pain tolerance, reduces pain’s negative effects, keeps your mind calm, and stops pain from messing with you.

The "influence" Elise meant should be that [Lust] state he fell into.

But Ethan wasn’t someone who thought with his lower body. He was always calm and clear-headed. Even if he was about to sleep with someone, the moment he sensed anything off, he would walk away without hesitation.

If Elise was saying all this, she must need someone who isn’t affected by her to do something.

It’s one thing if Ethan asks Elise for help. It’s another if Elise asks him to do something.

He didn’t look at Elise again. He just turned and headed out.

She couldn’t let him slip away.
