CHAPTER 153: CHAPTER 153: BE NICER TO ME, I’M A PATIENT NOW

Sheng Qianchi smiled increasingly charming and captivating, removing the pillow from his face and hugging it to his chest. His unbuttoned shirt revealed a large expanse of his chest, exuding manliness, "Be nicer to me. I’m a patient right now."

Gu Jiayin’s chest heaved in anger a few times, but she remembered his frail condition and that it was because of her he ended up like this. She shot him a cold glance and turned to the walk-in closet.

The closet was large, two rows of open wardrobes, his clothes on the left, hers on the right.

Gu Jiayin looked at the wardrobes filled with clothes and suddenly felt that this man had now truly become omnipresent.

Sighing softly, she still picked a set of loungewear and walked out.

Sheng Qianchi had already showered and was casually drying his hair, with only a towel around his waist.

Though it wasn’t the first time she had seen him like this, at that moment, she still found it inexplicably awkward and uneasy. She tossed the loungewear onto the bed and turned to leave.

Her wrist was caught.

The man’s words, carrying a damp breath, floated over, "Help me blow-dry my hair."

Gu Jiayin shook her hand in reluctance twice, but couldn’t free herself, turning her head to refuse, "I don’t have a habit of serving men."

His demeanor was taken for granted, "Start cultivating it now."

Gu Jiayin, "..."

Silently gritting her teeth, she turned around and smiled at him, a smile as alluring as a flower, "Sorry, Young Master Sheng, I don’t have that hobby."

Having said that, she instantly put on a cold expression and turned to leave again.

Her wrist was seized once more, this time directly pulling her into the man’s embrace. He looked down at her, also smiling, smiling charmingly yet dangerously, "Let me kiss you or dry my hair for me, choose one."

Her entire being was trapped in his arms, with only a towel preserving his modesty. His scorching body temperature and damp breath enveloped her like a mist, making Gu Jiayin feel as though she might melt away.

Placing both hands against his chest, she gritted her teeth and commanded, "Sit down!"

The man raised an eyebrow, looking at her, "Hmm?"

She spoke in an increasingly impatient tone, "I’ll go get the hairdryer!"

This time, Sheng Qianchi chuckled in a low voice, turned, and sat down on the sofa, naturally spreading his legs, leaning his head against the backrest, appearing to be waiting to be served comfortably.

Gu Jiayin shot him a cold glance, turned to get the hairdryer, and returned to dry his hair.

His hair was straight, thick, and very black, every strand seemed exquisite, robust, much like him.

Slender fingers combed through his hair, the hairdryer sending a breeze that was neither too hot nor too cold, leaving the bedroom suddenly very quiet.

He closed his eyes comfortably.

She looked like a mistreated housewife.

Looking at his demeanor, she felt increasingly unbalanced, and so, her hands began to play tricks, roughly tousling his hair into a messy state.

The handsome face under the short hair cracked into a smile, his voice also carried a smile, "Gu Jiayin, can’t you be a bit nicer to me? I used to dry your hair many times."

Gu Jiayin didn’t respond, patiently blow-drying his hair until it was dry.

Once done, she threw the hairdryer aside and said, "Quickly change your clothes and eat," then rushed out the door as if escaping.

Sheng Qianchi turned to look at the door that opened and closed, the corners of his lips curled into a smile, his eyes bending, unable to hide his amusement.

When he came out after changing clothes, he smelled a strong aroma of food and walked into the dining room to see that the woman had indeed made a table full of dishes.

The dishes looked excellent, with great presentation, and most importantly, a fragrance that wafted everywhere.

He suddenly felt hungry.

To be honest, he was surprised; he didn’t expect her to be such a good cook.

Back then, she was indeed Licheng City’s top socialite, the literal heiress of a prestigious family, born into a life with numerous servants at her beck and call, untroubled by housework.

Gu Jiayin was serving soup, not noticing the man’s expression. When she finished serving and was about to put the soup on the table, the man came up from behind, embraced her, and blew warm breath on her cheeks.

"What are you doing, sit down and eat." She commanded with a frown.

He didn’t let go of her, instead, he held her tighter, rubbing against her cheek, "Over the years, have any other men eaten the meals you’ve cooked?"

He asked absentmindedly, but indeed he felt a twinge of jealousy, knowing nothing about her life over these seven years and fearing the possibility of another man enjoying her fine cooking, his heart stung with waves of sour envy.

Gu Jiayin sighed helplessly, "Sheng Qianchi, if you don’t want to eat, then go out."

"Why wouldn’t I want to eat?" He kissed her cheek, "I wanted to eat just seeing you earlier."

She glared at him, exasperated, "Then sit down quickly."

He glanced at her, lips curling into a smile, "I’ll help you."

Speaking, he took the bowl of soup from her hands and put it on the table, then gentlemanly pulled out a chair, "Come over and sit."

Gu Jiayin couldn’t be bothered to bicker with him anymore, so she sat down, picked up her chopsticks, and started eating her own food.

Sheng Qianchi lowered his head, watched her tenderly for a moment, then reached out to tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear, sitting down beside her.

Gu Jiayin protested, "Sit opposite."

Sheng Qianchi didn’t take her disdain to heart, "I like being close to you."

Unable to shake him off, Gu Jiayin ignored him and continued eating her own meal.

Sheng Qianchi also stopped teasing her, and began to eat.

Her cooking skills were impressive, he found the food very much to his liking, and as the food settled in his stomach, he felt an indescribable warmth.

——With you, loneliness dissipates.

Sometimes, in a person’s life, only one person can drive away loneliness.

With her, he didn’t feel lonely, even if she showed him no pleasant demeanor.

His mood like a sunlit green meadow, brimming with life, "Gu Jiayin, do you want to have a little wine, hmm?"

Happy, yet without wine, something always seemed missing.

Gu Jiayin kept her head down, not even giving him a glance, coldly refusing, "No, unless you want to die of anemia."

Sheng Qianchi, "..."

Could she not express the same concern in a different way?

She could say, "Be good, your body’s weak, you can’t drink."

But, he knew, she would never say such sappy words to him in this life.

Nonetheless, he was still incredibly delighted, his eyes brimming with laughter like a spring gushing endlessly, "Alright, you tell me not to drink, I won’t drink."

Saying this, he added more food to her bowl, his other hand naturally resting on the back of her chair, half encircling her in his arms.

Gu Jiayin couldn’t be bothered with him, so she let him do as he pleased.

After the meal, Sheng Qianchi took the initiative to clear the dishes, but was driven away by Gu Jiayin, who didn’t wish for him to die in her place.

After tidying up the dishes, she came out to see the man sitting on the living room sofa watching TV.

He was at ease, having prepared a small plate of grapes for himself, watching the news and feeding himself grapes one by one. It was like he had eaten a meal cooked by his wife, waiting for her to come out and spend time leisurely together.

She pursed her lips, walked over and said coldly, "Sheng Qianchi, call Mo Jun, ask him to pick you up and take you back."
