Others Awaken SSS-Rank Classes, I Summon Calamities
Chapter 30: Encountering Difficulties
CHAPTER 30: ENCOUNTERING DIFFICULTIES
Rubbing his bald head, Arthur chuckled, his voice loud enough for everyone to hear due to the silence.
"Why do you all seem so surprised?"
It seemed Arthur’s words brought them out of their thoughts as they turned their attention toward him.
A slight grin tugged at Arthur’s lips as he gazed at everyone casually.
"Che—cheat! He cheated!" Osmout, the youth who had scored 90 points in the first test, pointed his trembling hand toward Arthur and shouted in anger.
A few other students also pointed at Arthur, raising all sorts of false claims.
Already used to such cliches from reading about them in webnovels back on Earth, Arthur just rolled his eyes exasperatedly and turned his attention to the instructor, no longer paying attention to the students.
The instructor cleared his throat.
"Although it’s a little far-fetched for a Summoner to have cleared the dungeon all by himself within such a short time, the System can’t be wrong."
"It’s a new system, there’s no certainty it won’t make certain inaccuracies," a resounding voice came from one of the instructors seated with the others.
It was a middle aged man with a slightly unkempt beard and a professional smile plastered across his lips.
Everyone understood why he joined the conversation.
The youth who had scored 90 was his son, after all.
Previously he had been bragging about his son taking first place in both entrance tests, and he wasn’t willing to give up such an opportunity for nothing.
Everyone fell silent, and some even cast pitying glances toward Arthur. After all, with an instructor stepping in, it would be a truly laughable matter if he cheated.
Besides, if he didn’t, the instructor might just find ways to frame him.
’Take down the younger one and the older one steps in?’ Arthur lampooned internally, meeting the instructor’s calculative eyes.
The instructor in charge turned to Arthur with a skeptical expression and asked:
"Kid, did you cheat to pass the examination?"
"No," Arthur calmly replied.
Just then, another voice rang out.
This time it was a female voice, and surprisingly it was another instructor.
"Since he says he didn’t cheat, there’s no need to doubt him. The simulated realm has a video feature that can display what transpired inside, so why don’t we use it?"
The instructor in charge tried to voice his objection on the matter, since this concerned one’s privacy, but he was quickly shut down by Osmout’s father and a few of his supporters.
"Well then, I’ll pull up the footage." The instructor sighed, then took out a device similar to a phone from his storage space and began operating on it.
Soon, the shimmering white portal expanded and displayed the scene that happened within.
They noticed Arthur appearing then looking in a daze, before waving his hand and a portal appeared bringing forth the Dragon Knight.
Upon setting eyes on the imposing figure of the knight, everyone was stunned.
"Wh—what the hell is that?"
"Is that a golem of some sort?"
"That should be an artifact, right? He cheated!"
All sorts of guesses were being thrown about by the students, however the instructor continued watching to see what would transpire.
They heard Arthur telling the Dragon Knight how much he needed to win, and then the next scene shocked them greatly.
The video ended five seconds later, but it took a long while before the instructors recovered from their shock.
"That should be a magic artifact!" Osmout’s father tried to argue, but he noticed the uncertainty in the eyes of others.
The instructor in charge sighed once again then turned to Arthur.
"Kid, could you please call your summon?"
He knew Osmout wouldn’t back down from the matter, so he could only ask Arthur to do this.
Arthur hesitated for a short while, not liking where the whole situation was headed.
Reluctantly, he nodded then summoned the towering Dragon Knight.
A black portal appeared briefly in front of him before Titan stepped out, its golden armor reflecting the light of the sun.
A devastating pressure akin to a beast spread through the youths, forcing them to take repeated steps back from Arthur.
"How’s that a summon?" a youth cried out in stupefaction.
The instructors also sensed the might of the towering knight, rivalling Players at Level 15, and their eyes flickered with a strange light.
He made a few gestures on his phone then walked toward Titan to scan him.
Titan raised his massive sword, ready to attack, but sensing no malice from the other party he held his ground.
The reading on the app began flickering and calculating the potential of Titan.
At first it started small, F Rank, then C Rank, then it jumped to S Rank.
SSS Rank, God Rank, before the app on his phone made a static noise and crashed.
The instructor stared dumbfounded as the app forcefully closed itself, returning to his home screen.
He tapped the screen to open the app once more, but a notification popped up the moment he tried to do so.
[Phone app is corrupted, please rectify the issue.]
He tried a few more times, receiving the same message each time, before he finally raised his eyes to meet the towering Dragon Knight.
Looking into the depths of those golden eyes, the instructor felt true fear.
’What kind of monster has he summoned? And... is it a good thing for the academy or not?’
Countless thoughts flickered through the mind of the instructor, but he tried not to show it on his face.
He couldn’t alert the other instructors of the abnormality that Amon’s Dragon Knight possessed.
At least not until he discussed it with the principal.
"Impressive," he said, forcing a smile, "your summon actually has an S Rank potential."
"S Rank potential?" murmurs of disbelief swept through the crowd immediately.
Arthur smiled at the words, his curious gaze flicking toward the instructor like he could tell what was wrong.
Just as Osmout’s father was about to argue some more, a wave of pressure descended onto the arena.
Feeling this pressure, everyone glanced up at the head seat, wondering what was happening.
There, seated at the head seat, was a woman who looked to be in her twenties.
Her gaze was ice cold as she scanned the crowd.
"Since he won the second entrance examination fair and square, what’s the need for the arguments? Assign them to their dorms immediately!"
Hearing her words, all the instructors straightened.
However Arthur was in a daze staring at the principal.
Because it was none other than Gabriella.
Her cold eyes briefly swept through Arthur’s standing figure for a second, and Arthur realised there was a problem.
He actually had the guts to kiss the principal of his academy?
’Damnation!’
