CHAPTER 47: UNIQUE GRADE 1 D-RANK DUNGEON

A few minutes later Arthur, Nephis and Titan were done digesting the potion and healing themselves.

Arthur turned to the other two and asked with a raised brow.

"Are you ready?"

Nephis and Titan nodded simultaneously.

Smirking, Arthur gestured for Titan to lead the way.

Hoisting up the massive golden sword on his shoulders, Titan walked toward the gate and stepped into it without hesitation.

Meanwhile, Arthur glanced at Nephis and she quickly followed along.

Scanning the area and not noticing any sign of danger, Arthur entered after Nephis.

A blinding light glowed on his body and before long Arthur found himself in a different world entirely.

Bright lights surfaced around him and he realized he had appeared in a vast place.

Glancing around, he noticed he was standing atop a mountain peak.

’Such a huge dungeon?’ Arthur was impressed.

He glanced around, taking in the sight of mountains lining the exterior of the whole dungeon.

Far off in the distance he noticed towering creatures crawling up the mountain.

Some of them radiated a devastating pressure from their body.

Turning away from them, Arthur glanced at Titan and Nephis.

He noticed Titan’s eyes flickering with killing intent, and he could sense the killing intent coming from Nephis’ body.

Arthur nodded at them and his gaze shifted down as he noticed they were atop a mountain peak.

There were three mountain peaks, and they stood on the smallest, although its size wasn’t much different from the others.

"Let’s clear the orcs in this mountain first," Arthur said, rubbing his chin, to which Nephis and Titan nodded.

With that, Arthur led the two down the mountain path.

The peak was slightly large and as they approached the edge of the mountain Arthur looked down, noticing a few creatures.

He thought for a moment, understanding something.

"We’ll have to climb down the mountain."

As Arthur said this, he glanced at Titan.

The monstrous dragon knight was too huge to be climbing the mountain.

"I’ll have to unsummon you in the meantime," Arthur said with a wry smile.

Titan glanced down at the clearing below and his golden eyes flickered with hesitation.

Sunless wryly smiled and then waved his hand to unsummon Titan, leaving only him and Nephis.

"You’ll have to blend in with my shadow in the meantime while I descend down the mountain. At any sign of danger just eliminate it without hesitation."

Nephis nodded and bowed slightly, "Yes, master."

As soon as she was done talking she heeded the order and dissolved into a shadow mist.

Arthur felt his shadow slightly wriggle and he understood that Nephis was there.

The thought was enough to bring him some confidence.

Arthur glanced down briefly.

"This is not going to be easy at all," Arthur thought with a frown.

Normally, he had never descended down the mountain before so he didn’t know how the experience would be.

However, thankfully he wasn’t afraid of heights.

There was a long silence before Arthur crouched low and then immediately began crawling forward, trying to use a few rocks as a means of leverage for his hands.

The rocks seemed to be placed in a unique position so as to make it easier for the orcs to climb down the mountain.

The sight caused Arthur to sigh in relief, at least he would have no troubles climbing down.

He stretched his shaky hand toward the cliff, his heart pounding like a war drum.

Then with a stern expression he held onto the rock firmly.

He crawled to the side and tilted his body before placing his feet in a stable place after a minor struggle.

Glancing down at the meters long distance from the ground, Arthur’s heart skipped a beat.

"Unholy fuck! Maybe I should just climb back up!" fear began creeping into Arthur’s expression.

Stretching his hand, he tried to climb back up when he noticed through his line of vision an orc’s finger gripping the peak firmly.

The next moment the orc increased its grip and climbed further up.

"Damn! Bad decision!" Arthur was dumbfounded and without hesitation he tried increasing his speed as he descended down.

The fear in his chest had vanished and he didn’t even realize when he had crawled more than two meters away from the mountain peak.

When Arthur finally regained himself, he glanced around and realized he was too far from the mountain peak.

’Damn.’ Cursing silently, Arthur knew he couldn’t head up and could only continue on his way down.

One grip at a time, he crawled forward.

Just then, he felt a slight pressure in the air.

Turning to the side, he noticed a huge orc twice his size crawling forward.

’Shit,’ Arthur muttered in his thoughts and without hesitation changed direction and began crawling his way in the opposite direction.

Only to notice another orc heading his way.

They seemed to have planned it and had surrounded Arthur.

Still a novice, Arthur couldn’t yet move at a speed comparable to the orcs.

It was an extremely scary situation and all Arthur could do was try to increase the distance between them.

He was still quite far from the ground and falling from this height would be devastating.

Arthur crawled forward but his speed wasn’t fast enough to escape the two behemoths.

"Nephis!" Arthur called out, causing the slight shadow being cast by the sun onto the side of the mountain to wriggle and immediately condense into the silhouette of a lady draped in black.

The moment Nephis appeared she was already aware of the danger.

Her figure slithered like a ghost and immediately a blackish deadly aura appeared on her body.

[Please note, your summon has activated calamity state increasing all her strength by more than threefold.]

Arthur listened to the sultry words of the system with a bewildered expression.

’Nephis also has a calamity state?’ At first he didn’t think this was possible, but seeing this development he understood it was most likely a state that belonged to all his calamities.

In that case did the little fox also possess a calamity state?

Arthur was speechless, imagining in his mind what the little guy could even do in its calamity state.

But there was no time to ponder on these thoughts as the danger was creeping onto him.

To Arthur’s surprise, Nephis stood on the mountain like it was flat ground.

In her calamity state she seemed to have gotten a new arsenal of abilities.

As she stood she stared at the orc closest to him, the one at his left side.

Then, she calmly took a step forward and vanished like a ghost.

Daggers spiraled around her like sand mist and like a silent ghost she appeared behind the orc.

Swoosh.

The sound of the wind whooshing sounded out then a splashing sound echoed.

To Arthur’s astonishment, the orc’s internal organs seemed to have been minced apart, leaving a gaping wound in the place.

The orc’s face was filled with terror and shock as it collapsed from the mountain side.

Arthur could hardly believe his eyes. But before he could even say anything Nephis had moved once again.

Her figure blurring like a shadow, she appeared in front of the other orc and the daggers spinning violently around her sliced apart the orc’s guts before sending it crashing toward the ground.

After eliminating the orcs, Nephis glanced around and upon sensing no immediate danger she deactivated the calamity state and her face turned pale as a groan escaped her lips.

"Are you alright?" Arthur couldn’t help asking.

Nephis coughed repeatedly before nodding.

"Entering into such state drains a lot of life energy from my body, I’ll become your shadow to recover for a bit. In the meantime you can continue, I’ve checked and there’s no danger around."

Arthur pondered briefly then nodded and Nephis quickly blended into his shadow.
