CHAPTER 46: YOU ASKED FOR IT

Isaac froze, ceased groaning and wiped his nose. Seeing that Isaac was about to stand, Orwen’s eyes narrowed.

"Who told you to stand!" he bellowed, closing the distance in an instant while swinging his leg toward him, only for a web to catch his foot, sticking it firmly to the floor. Isaac swiftly rose to his feet, shooting a web string at the ceiling and swinging himself over the other students to Godfrey’s side.

Dale squinted. "I heard he was constantly beaten, but look at that. He’s not so weak after all." He flexed his fist, while Orwen tore his foot out of the web, glaring at Isaac with eyes that promised blood.

Isaac flinched, clearly terrified at the thought of an upperclassman with such a wrathful look directed at him.

"I haven’t forgotten what you did to me, Dale. You were afraid, so you ambushed me. I thought suspension would be a good punishment, so don’t push me." Godfrey said sternly, slowly removing his right hand from his pocket.

"Me, afraid of you?" Lightning flashed in Dale’s eyes. "You’re dead." He swiftly activated Echo. The blade-like horns of his summon, nearly twenty inches long, appeared on both sides of his forehead. His feet became wide hooves, powerful enough to crush bones with ease.

Blue lightning crackled through his form, spreading across the floor and forcing others to scamper away. A glistening diamond shell covered Orwen’s entire body, and a scorpion’s stinger protruded menacingly from behind him.

The rest of Dale’s gang began activating Echo as well, manifesting claws, tails, horns, some even grew wings.

Mana flared violently in the cafeteria as they charged at Godfrey and Isaac.

Isaac activated Echo, and eight sleek, yellow-and-black spider legs manifested, lifting his body from the ground. He now stood almost three meters tall!

"We’ve had enough of you!" A sophomore rushed forward, swinging his clawed hand at Godfrey.

Godfrey launched a backhanded slap, tossing him backwards, his eyes rolling as he crumpled to the floor. He grabbed the neck of a second student and lifted him off the ground with ease.

Others hesitated instantly when they saw Godfrey holding someone aloft with just one hand, while Dale’s eyes narrowed greatly.

’He has two summons, of course he’s stronger. You just ignored a fact like always, Dale.’ Cecil, still at her seat, scowled.

Godfrey slammed the freshman to the ground, knocking him out cold. When Dale saw the others too frightened to attack, he aimed at Isaac instead, shooting arcs of lightning from both hands.

Godfrey summoned Mountain’s Achilles Shield. The moment the lightning struck it, the Ricochet effect activated, splitting the attack into several bolts that snaked wildly through the air like glowing blue serpents, electrocuting three students who never even expected such a comeback.

Gasps echoed throughout the cafeteria.

With a deep grunt, Godfrey flung the massive shield at Dale with all his might. Dale wrapped it in lightning, spinning it round like a deadly disc.

It carved a deep line through the air, shattered the counter where food was served, and spun back toward Godfrey.

’Catch that!’ Dale snickered, only to be shocked when Godfrey waved his hand, and the shield dematerialized into motes of golden light.

Orwen had already arrived from the left, swinging a heavy blow at Godfrey’s face while his stinger lashed for his thigh.

Thick golden armor manifested, protecting Godfrey from the waist down to his feet. The stinger bounced harmlessly off the cuisses, while he leaned out of the blow’s path and manifested Mountain’s longsword. Activating the White Mana Sword skill, he swung it downward in a blinding arc.

Orwen’s proud diamond shell split like fragile glass, blood spraying from his mouth as he staggered backward, eyes wide with disbelief.

’You shouldn’t have fought him.’ Cecil shook her head as Dale leaped, launching lightning-packed kicks with his powerful hooves. Godfrey blocked with the longsword, but the force snapped it in half.

Without hesitation, he used Lightning Infusion to glide out of the way, the hooves smashing the floor into rubble.

He summoned the longsword again but this time held the blade, using the hilt as a bludgeon. It slammed into Dale’s chest with such force that he coughed blood.

His eyes burned bloodshot. "I’ll crush your skull!" A ball of lightning gathered between his horns and shot toward Godfrey, but Godfrey flashed aside, deliberately letting it graze past to get close. In the same instant, the hilt of his longsword kissed Dale’s skull.

The world spun in Dale’s vision. He collapsed to his knees, clutching his head as Godfrey towered over him.

"You asked for it."

Godfrey’s foot slammed into Dale’s chin, sending him somersaulting across the cafeteria. He hit the ground several times before crashing into the wall, slumping.

Thanks to the resilience of his summon, he remained conscious, but the pain flaring across his body screamed of his miserable defeat.

’If Cecil had helped... I wouldn’t have lost before everyone. Isolde must have helped him. Those Pendragons have everything. Godfrey’s strength is because of her!’

Meanwhile, Godfrey turned and found Isaac standing amidst five groaning students, all skewered by his spider legs and webbed to tables and walls. One was even dangling from the ceiling like a trapped fly.

Despite the torn uniform and bruises, Isaac wore a big smile. As if that wasn’t enough, he flashed two thumbs up.

Cecil suddenly rose from her table, gracefully walked over to what was left of the counter, and set her tray down with quiet elegance.

She looked at Godfrey. "I enjoyed the fight." Chuckling, she turned to leave, only to freeze at his voice.

"Stop."

She turned back, hard lines appearing on her forehead as she watched him slide his arms into his pockets and stride toward her, Isaac following behind.

"Lead the others and take the injured to the nurse." He spared her only a glance before walking off.

Cecil’s eyes widened to the limit. Did Godfrey just give her an order? Who did he think he was to command her?!

Her face twisted with rage and hate, but she couldn’t muster the courage to disobey.
