Pei Yan held the knife against his palm, legs firmly set in a horse stance, right hand extended slowly. The movement seemed full of flaws, but the aura emanating from him was so overwhelming that it immobilized Wei Tianhe.

"Flood, Drown, Seven, Troops!" The words escaped Zhao Liben’s throat one by one as if from the heavens. When the last word was uttered, Wei Tianhe felt the ground trembling slightly. Looking up, water began to gurgle from the walls of the Secret Prison, escalating from a gentle flow to a rushing torrent, a seven or eight-meter-high tidal wave surged across the arena in less than three minutes.

Just as the wave formed, the two black-robed men who accompanied Du Guangyuan, along with a gray-haired youth, vanished from sight, treading the water toward the Secret Prison, while the subordinates led by Prison Director Li had been waiting in the shadows.

As soon as they clashed, the world seemed to shatter; one of the black-robed men removed his hood, revealing an aged face, repeatedly forming seals with his fingers while chanting. Then a talisman flicked from his hand, conjuring stone mountains that plummeted into the fighting crowd.

"The wind blows and knows the resilient grass!" From his hovering position, Prison Director Li flicked his wide sleeves, sending several Wind Blades that split the stone mountains, causing wild grass to grow crazily from the crevices, overwhelming and pulverizing the stones into a shower of lime dust.

The sudden wave scattered the formation of the fighters; all were swept toward the main building of the Secret Prison, except for the mindless cyborgs, who clung desperately to anything to prevent being swept away.

Meanwhile, Zhao Liben allowed himself to be swallowed by the wave, standing like an immovable mountain underwater, his knife swaying gently with the flow. Seeing Wei Tianhe thrown off balance by the wave, he seized the chance, gripped his knife with both hands, and swung three times, merging the attacks with the wave, creating three enormous blades of water.

The first stroke broke through the iron maiden Wei Tianhe summoned for defense again, the second scattered much of his protective inner source, and the third left a long gash across his chest, instantly dyeing the surrounding waters red with blood.

The colossal wave finally subsided, the water flow maintained by the inner source fading away, leaving the battlefield devastated, with shadows of people struggling up from mud and blood. Now it’s humans standing, and spirits falling.

The dazed Investigation Hall members shook off the confusion, resuming their attack on Shen Yu. Their opponents were mostly incoherent, and this counterattack allowed the Investigation Hall to regain ground. Meanwhile, as the reserve troops poured in from both sides of the gates, Shen Yu’s persistent offensive finally collapsed. Apart from die-hard loyalists and cyborgs still fighting, most retreated in panic, aiming for escape at the Defense Array.

Zhao Liben, now feeling indifferent about his earlier actions’ impact on the battle, returned to a normal state. Holding a large knife in one hand and leaning on the collapsed wall, he gasped for breath. Had he executed the attack in a place with water, its effect would have been multiplied; summoning a wave on dry ground had depleted much of his inner source.

But the sight of Wei Tianhe fallen before him lifted his spirits; today’s effort had reaped rewards. He would end Wei Tianhe’s life and flee, reporting back to the organization.

With this thought, Zhao Liben stepped toward Wei Tianhe, lifting the large knife against his neck.

"Scale Scrape!" At the moment the knife was about to fall, Wei Tianhe’s eyes snapped open; he grasped and clenched the air on his right, conjuring a large net that covered Zhao Liben tightly.

Under the net’s restraint, Zhao Liben couldn’t break free, his knife missing its mark and slicing into the ground, narrowly missing Wei Tianhe’s rolling form, cursing aloud, "Damn it!"

On the other side, ignoring the bleeding chest wound, Wei Tianhe took a deep breath and clenched his fists, commanding the inner source to attack. Zhao Liben felt the net tightening around him until it left grid-like marks on his flesh. Countless inner-source-formed blades scraped along the net.

Some blades managed to cut through Zhao Liben’s defenses and touch his skin, prompting him to scream like a pig being slaughtered, locking eyes with Wei Tianhe and yelling furiously, "Damn you! You’re trying to skin me alive, aren’t you!"

In a rage, Zhao Liben’s inner source surged, his body swelled, breaking cracks in the tightening net.

Tearing away the shredded net, he wielded his knife and spun on the spot, merging man and blade into a streak of light, charging at Wei Tianhe.

"Thousand-Li Solo Ride!"

The strike was impossibly fast, surpassing even Pei Yan’s lightning speed. More remarkably, the usual sonic boom was absent as the knife flashed soundlessly toward Wei Tianhe.

Aware he couldn’t dodge, Wei Tianhe prepared to face death. Just then, a massive shadow collided into him, knocking him aside, taking his place as the long knife pierced into its body.

Spitting out blood from reopened wounds, Wei Tianhe and Zhao Liben, both believing the other doomed, stared wide-eyed at the unexpected interloper.

Seeing the giant husky, covered in wounds and sliced open by the knife, Wei Tianhe realized it was backup from the Investigation Hall. With entrails spilling from the severed stomach, he understood, had the knife struck him, he’d surely be dead. Grateful for his life saver, he also knew the dog wouldn’t survive.

Watching Zhao Liben slowly withdraw his long knife, turning to the muddied Du Guangyuan struggling upright, he thought angrily, "Old Du, you really have gone senile, can’t even handle a dog!"

"Shut it, mind your own neck!" Du Guangyuan retorted, wiping mud off his face harshly.

About to retort, Zhao Liben suddenly noticed a shadow looming over him, glancing in surprise as the gutted husky rose again, its blue eyes spinning wildly, seemingly deep in thought!
