The one making such remarks from where my gaze landed was the downcast trash lying despondent in the mud. Once lively, it now lay like a frost-beaten eggplant, panting heavily through its nostrils, unmoving.
Pei Yan stared at the trash for a while. Seeing it silent, he turned his head and raised an eyebrow, asking, "I must have heard wrong, right? Captain Shangxing, didn't you say its mind was unopened and couldn't speak human words?"
"Maybe you did hear wrong!" Shangxing replied uncertainly, and then he stepped out of the crowd, slowly approaching, gently patting and soothing the trash on its large body while whispering something in its ear.
The previously sickly trash was patted a few times, suddenly stood up, and lifted the unprepared Shangxing back a few steps. When Shangxing prepared to approach again for comfort, he was forcefully swept aside by the trash's paw.
Pei Yan hurriedly went forward to support the thrown-off balance Shangxing, exclaiming in astonishment, "Captain Shangxing, what's wrong with it?"
Shangxing's eyes were wide and red, angrily growling, "It said there's something inside its body! It's making it feel very uncomfortable!"
"Something inside? Ate something bad?" Pei Yan couldn't help but recall how it swallowed a modified human whole in battle previously. Ugh... eating too much of that thing could lead to adverse reactions, which might be normal.
While he was distracted pondering whether to call a veterinarian, the trash suddenly raised its head and let out a piercing howl, then bent its dog head sideways and began to vomit profusely.
As the trash's vomiting intensified, the stench forced everyone to pinch their noses and step back repeatedly. Little Vlad's gaze flickered, seemingly realizing something, as he stared gloomily at a large filthy object expelled by the dog nearby.
From initial dry heaves to vomiting bile, stones, rebar, then finally spewing out limbs and remains of corpses, Pei Yan pinched his nose, watching for two or three minutes. Until it seemed the trash had vomited almost everything inside its stomach, its body trembled a few times and started spewing blood violently.
Li Jianguo stopped the worried Shangxing wanting to approach, frowned at the thick blood mixed in the filthy pool. After a few spurts of thick blood, the trash finally stopped vomiting, sighed relieved, and collapsed back onto the muddy ground gasping.
As the pool of blood continuously coagulated, twisted, and deformed, a human figure slowly formed. Pei Yan leaned beside Shangxing, murmuring, "Seems like this is the curse tormenting the trash...!"
"Du Guangyuan!"
Before Pei Yan could finish, a hysterical shout interrupted him. He turned his head and saw the heavily injured, hunched Little Vlad suddenly straighten his back, mouth twitching rapidly as if whispering something. Then, raising his right hand, a dark triangle magic array hovered before him. As his right hand clenched a fist, a crimson beam shot towards the still forming blood figure.
"Gag, gag!" As the beam fired, the bloodied stench on site thickened, forcing everyone to cover their mouths and noses, stepping back repeatedly. After gagging twice, Pei Yan simply decided to breathe from an air canister stored inside his body.
Though his form retreated, Pei Yan's gaze never left the blood figure. Though he couldn't comprehend the relationship between the gray-haired youth and the blood figure, feeling the vast energy infused within the enraged strike, not killing the blood figure should at least send it a harsh lesson.
Presumably, the other people present shared similar thoughts, so when the result astonished everyone on site, many widened their eyes, revealing expressions of disbelief like Pei Yan.
And the most incredulous was the one launching the attack, Little Vlad. He watched as Du Guangyuan, who received his blood sacrifice attack without dispersing into blood mist absorption, instead accelerated his bodily formation speed, swiftly forming nerve, skin, facial features into a young man walking out of the filthy pool, casually covering with a slightly mature outfit.
"Isn't this Du Guangyuan? Did he become younger?" Pei Yan stared in shock at the young man walking out of the blood, appearing only in his twenties yet could clearly discern the facial resemblance of the elder who battled against the trash previously.
"How did you do it! How could you break through the blood shackles!"
Little Vlad's terrified voice again drew Pei Yan's attention. Turning his head, evidently today's ongoing events shattered this guy's worldview, watching his entire face contort till it deformed, Pei Yan began to sympathize with him.
The rejuvenated Du Guangyuan did not answer Little Vlad's words, he spread his arms wide, swelling his chest, taking a deep breath to savor the new sensations this youthful body brought.
Just as he immersed in this wonderful feeling, the recovering trash behind him recognized the former cause of its agony, bellowed and stood up, swinging its massive claw forward.
As the gust blew nearby, Du Guangyuan's body remained still, barely raising his right arm. The swinging trash's giant claw halted abruptly two to three meters from its target.
Then, Du Guangyuan gently pinched his thumb and forefinger, trash's body wobbled twice and slowly began levitating off the ground in struggle, then in a sharp snapping sound, the suspended trash was suddenly smashed flying into the distant wall with a heavy crash.
After finishing these actions, Du Guangyuan stepped out of the blood pool in a blink, teleporting behind Little Vlad, hands slicing like knives mercilessly into the latter's back.
"Ahh! You filthy blood servant! Betrayer! How dare you!" At this moment, Little Vlad's body had deformed, like a lump of molten slime constantly liquifying into reeking blood. His East Asian visage and gray hair also dissolved, revealing a pale Caucasian face with golden hair, cursing loudly at everyone present.
As his arms delved deeper, Du Guangyuan's heinous face almost pressed against Little Vlad's back, sneering, "Why wouldn't I dare? I thought at most you'd sustain minor injuries then flee using blood transfer; who knew you were so feeble to sustain such grave injuries? Providence favors me! You can't likely mobilize ample blood essence for blood transfer to heal! Now you're suffering, aren't you!"
"How'd you accomplish this!" Little Vlad paused a moment as if recalling something, then roared, "Those sacrifices! You meddled with those sacrifices!"
"Yes, indeed! Thirty-five people, thirty-five lives paved your path to Hell. You were so confident and careless that you didn't even check. Your father would never make such a mistake! Come, become part of my body!"
As Du Guangyuan spoke, half his body had already melded into Little Vlad's.
