Pei Yan, as an observer, hid among the crowd with great interest as he watched this internal strife unfold, akin to watching a live-action horror movie. At this point, Du Guangyuan's body had merged with Little Vlad's, the two becoming one bloated, giant Slime, with copious amounts of crimson blood encasing them, bubbling up into one blood bubble after another.
After the initial astonishment, the Investigative Bureau members were evidently not as interested in continuing to watch as Pei Yan was. Taking advantage of the crucial moment where the two sides were like dogs biting each other, they simultaneously unleashed a variety of attacks that smashed into the giant Slime. After enduring several rounds of attacks, it finally couldn't hold on anymore and exploded with a bang like jelly being crushed.
"Everyone, be careful!" Faced with the blood drops falling like a foul-smelling rain, out of instinct, everyone knew this was no good. Prison Director Li, while reminding everyone, swung his arms, summoning two gusts of wind from the ground, which swept the majority of the liquid towards the unattended side of the wall.
Pei Yan, having been prepared for this, calmly raised a giant iron umbrella, shielding several people beside him. They listened as the sporadic blood drops pattered on the iron umbrella, sliding down slowly along the edge of the umbrella.
Once the bloody rain stopped, Pei Yan put away the iron umbrella. He first looked at the small dents left on the iron umbrella by the blood drops and the eroded grooves where the blood had flowed, then glanced down at the blood clumps coagulating on the ground. These blood drops, not mixing with other substances, remained crimson and droplet-like on the ground. After merging with other blood drops, they moved in the same direction.
As the scattered clumps of blood surged to unify once more, the battle between Du Guangyuan and Little Vlad in the center was also reaching its climax.
After the protective blood at the surface was largely dispersed by attacks, what came into everyone's view was a gaunt, blood-colored humanoid figure. The bald blood head alternated between the faces of Du Guangyuan and Little Vlad as if performing a face-changing act in Sichuan opera. But as the frequency of face changes decreased, Du Guangyuan's face began appearing more often, and every time Little Vlad's losing face emerged, it would roar in fury.
"You accursed blood servant, you will be hunted by all the Blood Race,"
"How dare you use such vile blood poison, fool! What benefit do you gain from devouring me? You'll be poisoned as well! Let me out, you idiot; only my father can save us now!"
"Who are you? You can't be from this world; how do you know so much about Blood Race Secret Techniques?"
"Aren't you afraid of the Blood Race's eternal curse for doing this?"
When the blood person again transformed into Du Guangyuan's face, who had never responded to Little Vlad's words, he snorted coldly at Little Vlad's final sentence and said, "Eternal curse? From the moment your father chose me as a Blood Servant, I had no eternity left. Save your breath – my future doesn't concern you, but you are destined to be the first stepping stone in my destruction of your family!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the blood person's body crouched, its arms applied force, and the crimson body surface gradually faded. Normal human skin slowly emerged, and Du Guangyuan's face became clearer, with strands of black hair growing on his once bald head.
As Du Guangyuan was about to fully transform into a human, Little Vlad's hideous face prominently appeared on his chest, roaring, "Then let's go to Hell together!"
With these words came a series of incomprehensible Magic Realm chants. The pooling blood at Du Guangyuan's feet lit up with a brilliant red glow, revealing a massive Magic Array. The blood started to boil and roll, rushing into Du Guangyuan's body through his seven orifices.
Seeing Du Guangyuan's body rapidly swelling like a balloon, and recalling the power of the previous blood, everyone present immediately started preparing defensive measures. High walls of mixed metal and cement rose up, encircling the expanding balloon tightly.
The people perched on the high walls watched the still swelling Du Guangyuan at the center of the enclosure. Just when Pei Yan thought the other's body couldn't expand anymore and was preparing for the explosion, Du Guangyuan suddenly retched from his distorted mouth. A crimson bloodline shot out quickly from his mouth, transforming into a beam of blood and disappearing from this world in an instant.
After this bloodline vanished, Du Guangyuan's swollen body quickly deflated like a leaking balloon. Once back to normal, he, looking pale, casually summoned clothes to cover himself, and with a face full of regret, angrily said, "Still let you get away!"
Having said that, he looked up towards the Investigative Bureau members on the high wall watching him, and with a very sincere expression, smiled and said, "I ought to thank you all for today's events!"
Upon saying this, he looked over at Ye Ruozai, who was glaring coldly at him, nodded at him, and continued, "From your appearance, you must be the brother of the person who ambushed Little Vlad earlier, are you the older brother or younger?"
"He's my younger brother!"
"Great, thank your brother for me. If I get a chance, I'll repay him!" Du Guangyuan said, closing his eyes, feeling a sense of satisfaction with the new powers he gained.
Ye Ruozai's face turned grim upon hearing this as he coldly snorted, "No need! My brother didn't act hoping for any return from someone like you!"
"Whether you accept it or not is up to you; I have to do what I must! Now that I've said my piece, I doubt you want me to stick around, so I'll take my leave!" Du Guangyuan opened his eyes, pointing at Ye Ruozai, then looked around and stated in a deep voice.
"Do you think you can still escape? Fish Scale Nets!" Wei Tianhe urged, taking a step forward, questioning him. As he spoke, a large net appeared out of nowhere and covered Du Guangyuan's head.
"Don't waste your efforts; you can't keep me here. My battle is over, but your night is still long ahead! Hohoho," Du Guangyuan said, laughing coldly, allowing the net to envelop him. His body tightened, then suddenly shattered into numerous blood chunks, slipping through the net and dispersing into a blood light that vanished.
After Du Guangyuan disappeared, Prison Director Li halted his subordinate's pursuit. The strongest among them, he knew clearly that his opponent had already escaped miles away. So he turned to instruct everyone to tidy up the battlefield and bring the fight to an end soon.
Pei Yan did not rejoin the battle; it no longer needed his additional flair. The current remnants of the god's will were nothing more than a scattered force and could not form any combat power. The diehard members either surrendered in the face of the fleeing and captured leaders or resisted desperately in despair and were killed.
After dealing with two foolhardy idiots who ran towards him seeking death in their panic, Pei Yan sat atop the high wall, observing the entire battlefield. Seeing the widespread corpses, he finally began to feel the desolate atmosphere of the battlefield.
With a long sigh! Alas, what's the point?
