CHAPTER 411: CHAPTER 411 SHOCK (SEEKING SUBSCRIPTION)

"Lord!" Hel was so shocked by Sifuer’s action that her face turned pale. She softly called out, wanting to intervene, but was stopped by the other’s raised hand.

Raphael glanced at the Longsword placed before him, then looked at Sifuer standing in front of him, narrowed his eyes, and smiled, "Thorn Flower Goddess Sword, Miss Sifuer, stop joking with me. I’m just a poor kid from the countryside, I can’t put up a comparable bet against this."

"Then let’s bet on the shelter’s living space. I think once this Red Calamity is over, my people will gradually arrive. If I win, you cannot prevent them from entering the shelter, and if it’s full, make room by clearing out others for my people!" Sifuer pressed forward, slapping the Longsword.

As soon as these words were spoken, the entire tavern fell silent, and everyone’s gaze fell upon Raphael. They all knew that if Sifuer won the bet, some of them might be forced out to find another shelter. At that point, whether they would be accepted depended on others’ mood, and not getting into a shelter during the Red Calamity would mean certain death.

Raphael stared into Sifuer’s aggressive eyes, reached out to touch the Longsword on the table, his expression uncertain. After a moment, he broke into a grin, "It seems Miss Sifuer has great confidence in this extradimensional scout soldier! One night is too short with too many variables, I won’t take that risk. I’ll bet he lasts three days, if he survives three days, then you win."

Sifuer, hearing this, pondered for a moment before resolutely saying, "I’ll take your bet! But with one condition: if he doesn’t last these three days and arrives alive at the shelter, then our bet is void, a draw."

"Cunning woman." Raphael shook his head and chuckled softly, then waved to those behind him and shouted, "The bet is on! Someone bring a chair for our Miss Sifuer, let’s see how this kid she values performs!"

Meanwhile, in the mountain valley, Pei Yan, who had silenced the shelter’s noise, was unaware of the bet placed on him. He continued luring the pursuing insect swarm deeper while looking at the red little flower in his hand. Though never a flower enthusiast, he risked turning back to pluck this flower from the scorching fires of the Magma Insects because he saw that it remained unharmed by the lava. Suddenly, tales of natural treasures came flooding into his mind. Could his luck be turning?

However, after picking it and holding it in his hand, an analysis for a long time by Suzi revealed nothing special, leaving Pei Yan somewhat disappointed. In the midst of combat and unable to afford further distraction, he put it into his interspatial ring for now.

Boom! Another lava attack struck from the side. Pei Yan had reached the middle of the peak deep in the mountains; below, slaves and Magma Insects crowded the foot, while above lay the overwhelmingly oppressive Red Calamity.

"This kid is cornered, if he doesn’t have any...." Raphael glanced at the screen showing Pei Yan in a perilous situation, coldly smiled, and was reaching for another glass of wine from his Attendant when a world-shattering explosion erupted from the screen, causing him to nearly spill his drink as he stared in disbelief.

Mountain crumbled, earth trembled violently as if the world was turned upside down. All around, stones rained down heavily amidst violent shaking until the mountain itself began tilting, and a massive landslide flooded into the valley with a deafening roar.

Initially, the Magma Insects and slaves tried to resist, but as the rockfall grew more frequent, their resistance became increasingly futile under such overwhelming force. The Magma Insects couldn’t take it and burrowed into the ground to flee, while the slaves were overwhelmed by the landslide in an instant.

"Ah!" Pei Yan spread his arms, feeling a torrent of energy rush into his body like a flood, he roared upwards with delight. This time he hit the jackpot! Before entering the valley, he used Suzi to scan the area intending to draw in enough enemies and use the force of vibration to wipe them out at once.

His action proved effective; while absorbing a large amount of energy, for the first time, the slave-wave attack showed a break. The peaks surrounding the valley all became lower, the massive rocks filling the gap and sealing the valley pass, blocking outside pursuers temporarily.

Pei Yan surveyed the battlefield with satisfaction, moving to take out surviving slaves who surfaced from the soil with his electromagnetic cannon. Ten minutes later, the vibration ceased, and the battlefield finally calmed down. Retrieving the electromagnetic cannon, he reverted it to his arm, thrusting more than a dozen mechanical detectors into the ground, ready to alert him upon any movement.

After completing all defensive measures, Pei Yan plunked himself onto a boulder, crossed his legs, and began regulating the flow of his internal energy. Overeating left him a bit bloated, but he was slightly dissatisfied that eight-tenths of such a huge energy influx ended up in Lin Junzhao’s pocket, leaving him only with two-tenths.

"Hey, isn’t this a bit too greedy? I won’t claim it all, but a fair half is only right!" Pei Yan couldn’t help but quietly complain in his heart.

"What do you even need so much energy for now? Without me, you wouldn’t even dare to absorb it! This energy could be lethal to you! Your focus now should be on mastering your origin and abilities. When the time is right, I’ll enhance your power."

Confronted by Lin Junzhao’s retort, Pei Yan had to agree insincerely, "Yes, yes! You’re right!" After speaking, he didn’t stay mad and instead settled in to rest. The stone barrier won’t keep those creatures out for long. If Bailang’s words were true, the Red Calamity would last seven days, so he had to busy himself repairing and conserving strength.

The shelter was silent; everyone quietly watched the light screen, some looking grim like Raphael and others visibly elated like Sifuer. Regardless of their facial expression, there was no doubt the recent event had shocked them all to their core.

"I didn’t expect Miss Sifuer to have such unique insight. This person certainly has something special. What on earth did he do to trigger such a change between heaven and earth? Is it also technology? Did anyone see it clearly?" Raphael first glanced at Sifuer, then turned his head to those behind him, shouting loudly.

"What’s so strange about it? It’s not like the experts in our clan can’t do this." Casro, sitting at the table, mumbled softly with dissatisfaction.

Smack! Just after he finished speaking, a wine bowl was accurately thrown at his head. Casro looked up at Raphael, who had thrown the bowl and quickly lowered his head, not daring to speak further.

"Of course, I know that this ability isn’t rare in the Hell Realm, extraordinary as it may be, someone can always accomplish it! What I’m asking is whether anyone can unleash such an ability under the cloak of the Red Calamity?"
