Pei Yan didn't know when Jiang Feiyang's well-cooked dish could be served, whereas his main course was already on the table.
Though surprised by the calm reaction of the garrison in Snow Peak Territory, and the lack of resistance from the experts mentioned in the intel during the easy destruction of the Disaster Pillar, which made Pei Yan feel somewhat uneasy, he had no choice but to act. After joining forces with Catherine to destroy the Disaster Pillar, the main offensive battle from Snow Peak Territory officially kicked off.
Once the battle began, both sides erupted with astonishing momentum. Pei Yan, absorbing the energy scattered from the red Disaster above, looked down at the battlefield beneath his feet. On the vast snowfield in front of the Disaster Legion's camp in Snow Peak Territory, thousands of Hellhounds were sprinting while Harpies covered the sky as they flew past him. Amidst the piercing hum, burning Shadow Source Insects exploded like fireworks inside the enemy camp.
Simultaneously, the artillery support from Jiang Feiyang and Catherine hit accurately. Amidst the rumbling sound, the flood of Hellhounds collided with the army of Slaves, forming two distinct battalions in black and white.
Boom! Boom! Boom! The ground trembled as one after another mountainous Sleepers rose from the earth, over a thousand Sleepers wielding stone sticks, pressed forward like a moving wall with the momentum of a landslide.
With the addition of these Sleepers, the scales of victory on the battlefield gradually tipped towards the Disaster Legion. These giants instantly became the target of artillery favorite in the direction guided by Pei Yan, shells pounded on the tall bodies of the Sleepers, shattering stone and soil from their surface, leaving behind a plethora of large and small craters. Blood sprayed forth, soaking the snow beneath their feet, occasionally a Sleeper would collapse under the bombardment, yet the artillery's blockade was limited, allowing several to reach the front lines. The stone sticks swung about, Hellhounds howled, either flung into the sky or smashed into pulp.
The Demon Race on their side naturally wouldn't sit idly by. Under Bailang's command, Demon Crocodiles were summoned by Warlocks to the forefront of the formations. Once they appeared, they charged into the army without hesitation, each group of three Demon Crocodiles entangled with a Sleeper, stone sticks swung, and the Demon Crocodiles bit back fiercely.
Despite the battlefield being strewn with thin bodies and rivers of blood, the main forces of both sides remained motionless, silently observing the unfolding scene as if it had nothing to do with them.
Until the last Sleeper clubbed down and killed a Demon Crocodile with which it was entangled, tearing another Demon Crocodile in half by hand, ultimately it fell heavily to the ground under the bombardment, this initial skirmish ending with both sides paying a heavy price. On the battlefield, only a few remaining armed Slaves waved their arms announcing their victory.
However, the Demon Race didn't intend to give this remnant force much time to breathe. All elite Cavalry of the Demon Race fastened their face shields, tightened the reins of the Eight-legged Beasts beneath them, preparing for the next battle.
Just when Samikina was about to give the order to attack, Jiang Feiyang, prompted by Xia Yu, finally arrived. After successfully advancing, his meridians expanded, allowing him to absorb the scattered energy from the air more quickly. Pei Yan landed beside Jiang Feiyang and asked, "Are you done?"
"Ready, let me initiate the next attack!" Jiang Feiyang rubbed his hands, excitedly.
"Alright!" Pei Yan did not stop him and explained to Samikina before him. Samikina followed Pei Yan's finger, glanced at Jiang Feiyang, nodded hesitantly, as Pei Yan turned and gestured 'OK' to Jiang Feiyang.
Receiving the order, Jiang Feiyang pulled out a series of exquisite models from his storage ring and arranged them on the ground. Then, he knelt down with one knee, clasped his hands, and activated his powers.
With a burst of metallic clatter, a group of World War II D-army Tiger tanks appeared in front of everyone, roaring toward the Disaster Legion's formations amidst white smoke from the engines.
Meanwhile, a commotion arose at the rear of the Demon Race army. Under the Cavalry Captain's command, numerous cavalry opened ways on both sides, allowing roads to emerge, from which soldiers gleaming with metallic luster strode out in neat formations.
Looking at these soldiers, dressed like World War II M-army soldiers with rough appearances, yet without any weapons, bodies covered in grenades, Pei Yan approached Jiang Feiyang, clapped his shoulder in awe and said, "Old Jiang, amazing! Your skills have improved; there must be at least ten thousand soldiers now, right? And how many of these tanks can you actually control?"
"Huff, huff, huff!" Completing this task evidently drained too much of Jiang Feiyang's energy, as he knelt there breathing heavily, wiping beads of sweat off his forehead, he said, "Thanks to you for converting my inner source, enabling me to achieve this scale! These tanks are my private collection and precious. As for these soldiers, they're all cannon fodder; I specifically found the cheapest toy soldiers, coated with a layer of metal by Xia Yu to increase their survival rate on the battlefield."
"Oh, what's the difference between these cheap soldiers and your treasured ones?" Pei Yan glanced at the vacant gazes of soldiers passing by and asked puzzled.
"These soldiers can only execute the simplest commands and perform simple operations. Like the artillery positions I've set, they're managed by more expensive, realistic soldiers, which those you see can't achieve." Jiang Feiyang continued, taking the cigarette handed over by Pei Yan, "The total number of soldiers I can control isn't determined by numbers, but by the combat power they unleash. Controlling more exquisite soldiers consumes more of my energy, the most refined ones I can only manage around three thousand."
Listening to this, Pei Yan nodded, lit the cigarettes in both their mouths, exhaled a smoke ring watching the soldier tanks sprinting along, Pei Yan couldn't help but marvel at how Jiang Feiyang was particularly valued by the department. From some angle, in the real world, his ability is more concealed and suited to public appearances, showcasing its tremendous power.
While Pei Yan was lost in thought, distant booms of cannon fire reached his ears. Looking up, the moving tanks began their assault, with artillery positions shielding, one shell after another bombarded in the Disaster Legion's camp.
The Red Armor Warrior Group seemed shaken by these unexpected steel beasts, belching fire, and momentarily fell into chaos, yet after several rounds of bombardment, they soon displayed their true quality, rapidly gathering together, emitting the same aura, forming a huge red crystal wall, erected in the air, blocking the enemy's artillery.
