Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike
Chapter 130 - 129: Always Together
CHAPTER 130: CHAPTER 129: ALWAYS TOGETHER
It seemed he didn’t expect her to swear. Simon Forrester was momentarily stunned, staring blankly at her, but then came to his senses. Thinking about her saying she never touched Zion Quincy, he couldn’t help but smile.
A moment later, a phone was tossed in front of him.
He picked it up and saw the WeChat conversation between Sienna Thornton and Zion Quincy, containing some voice messages from last night and this morning.
He pressed play to listen——
Zion Quincy: "Sienna, are you home tomorrow morning? I’ve got your mom’s medicine. I’ll bring it to you in the morning!"
Sienna Thornton: "What time are you coming? I’ll set an alarm."
Zion Quincy: "Hmm... six o’clock! I’ll come over right after swimming."
Sienna Thornton sent an OK emoji, ending the conversation.
Then this morning, at 5:50 AM, Zion Quincy texted Sienna Thornton: "Five more minutes and I’ll be there. Open the door for me, please. I have to go right after I give you the stuff."
Sienna Thornton sent another OK emoji, without any extra words.
These few records perfectly explained why Zion Quincy left Sienna Thornton’s apartment with wet hair early in the morning.
Simon Forrester silently turned off the screen and handed the phone back to her.
This reenactment of the voice messages inevitably reminded her of the grievances from the morning, and she glared at him spitefully once more.
When she came over, she was quite calm, but discussing these matters clearly stirred her emotions, though she seemed oblivious to it. While she wasn’t concerned about being misunderstood by outsiders, she couldn’t bear Simon Forrester thinking the same of her.
Seeing Simon Forrester sitting silently, lost in thought, she felt a bit annoyed and said, "Alright, I’m done saying what I needed to say. I’m leaving."
Just as she took two steps, the man’s warm body embraced her from behind.
Simon Forrester held her, his face buried in her neck, whispering, "It was my fault. I’m sorry."
Her eyes immediately turned red.
Recalling what Harrison Rowe said, their Director Forrester had never apologized to anyone, not even when threatened with a lawsuit from DK.
Yet how many times had he said "I’m sorry" to her today? She couldn’t remember, only that her head hurt and her heart ached.
She stood there crying, feeling powerless and unable to take a step.
From behind, Simon Forrester held her, his hands grasping her slender wrists. After holding her for a long time, he turned her body to face him.
Noticing the moisture on her face, he was shocked, cupping her cheeks, urgently saying, "It was my fault! I shouldn’t have upset you like that! Please stop crying, will you?"
"No way!" She pushed his hands away, glaring at him, "Get lost! I don’t want to see you again!" After saying that, she ran to the foyer, only to be pulled back into his arms.
He held her, explaining with utmost gentleness and patience:
"Neither of us is perfect. We both have pasts, we all have flaws. That argument this morning, I don’t think it was a bad thing. Everyone has a temper, and now we have seen the most genuine sides of each other. I’m no longer habitually restraining myself, acting perfectly in front of you. I’m just an ordinary man, who was angry, anxious, scared, and lost control of my emotions. But I can promise, this will be the biggest crisis we face, and we won’t argue like this again. I won’t upset you like this again. Please stop crying, okay?"
She continued to shed tears silently, not knowing whether she was moved by his confession or still unwilling to forgive the earlier misunderstanding.
Seeing her like this, he had no other options. He cupped her face, whispering softly, "I want to confess to you, want to be with you forever..."
As she felt a whirlwind of emotions and sweetness, the surroundings suddenly plunged into darkness.
The area was eerily quiet, with not a trace of electrical buzzing.
Sienna Thornton snapped back to reality, her breath catching. In her panic, she pushed Simon Forrester’s body away, whispering, "Is there a power outage?" With that, she attempted to jump off the low cabinet.
She shook her head from side to side, dodging and struggling, murmuring, "Don’t do this! It seems there’s a power outage!"
He finally stopped his actions, took out his phone, and turned on the flashlight.
Her tear-streaked face immediately hit his eyes, filling him with heartache. He raised his hand, brushing her cheek and wiping away the tears under her eyes, gently saying, "Stay here and don’t move. I’ll go check the power room."
She was completely tense, not caring about being embarrassed, jumped off the low cabinet, and followed him out.
He shut the door carefully and offered his hand to her: "Want to come along?"
She didn’t take his hand, instead walking straight ahead.
He chuckled helplessly, caught up with her, and walked alongside her.
She walked like a headless chicken for a while, sniffled, and asked, "Where’s the power room? Which way should we go?"
He laughed, "This is your place, don’t you know where the power room is?"
She was momentarily speechless, biting her tongue quietly, saying, "If you tell me, then I will know."
"And what if you know, can you fix it?"
"I can learn..."
The two bickered all the way to the main building, where guests were scattered on loungers near the natural lake, chatting. Maeve sat on the wooden steps at the entrance, smoking.
Sienna Thornton ran over, "What happened? Is there a power outage?"
Maeve pointed behind her, "The electrician went in for repairs, it seems there’s a power outage."
After hearing this, Sienna Thornton turned on her phone’s flashlight and went into the main building.
Simon Forrester followed, and as he passed Maeve, they exchanged a glance without greeting.
...
Simon Forrester and the electrician fiddled in the power room for several hours before the power was finally restored around midnight.
He came out of the power room, planning to inform Sienna Thornton about the cause of the outage, but she wasn’t at the front desk, didn’t answer when he knocked, and her little Mini car was missing from the parking lot.
He realized she had fled again, staring at the deep black sky for a while with a long sigh, then took out his phone to call her, receiving no answer, so he sent a WeChat message: "Take care and rest well, I’ve got everything covered."
The message went into the void with no response.
Worried about Sienna Thornton, Simon Forrester returned to the main building. Maeve was still sitting on the wooden steps, surrounded by cigarette butts.
He went inside to fetch a crystal ashtray, stood beside the steps, pulled out a pack of cigarettes, and opened it, offering it to Maeve, "Want one?"
