CHAPTER 15: CHAPTER 15: PATRON

Auntie King helped Sienna onto the sofa, carefully said "okay" to Simon Forrester, and then excused herself.

As for Sienna, who was woken up in the middle of deep sleep, she was not only groggy but also experiencing some serious bedhead.

Seeing Simon Forrester sitting so casually on the sofa, she got irritated and sarcastically said, "Oh, did you escape from the princess’s ball to see me?"

Seeing Simon Forrester frown and not answer, she laughed again: "Did you leave your glass slipper on the castle steps?"

With these words, Simon Forrester finally understood that she was mocking him as Cinderella attending the ball by pumpkin carriage.

Simon Forrester found it both funny and annoying, but his mood, which had been gloomy all day due to the project’s slow progress, seemed to lift considerably.

He curled his lips, surprisingly not leaving in a huff, "Are you blaming me for coming so late?"

Sienna grabbed a pillow and placed it against her waist, slumped against the armrest of the sofa, half-closing her eyes, and lazily replied, "I’ve never seen anyone visiting patients at midnight, but I have seen plenty coming at this hour to meet their mistresses."

Her tone was indifferent, her posture lazy, with her bare legs casually resting on the sofa, without an extra wrinkle on her knees, her skin fair and smooth, as if the most exquisite white jade pearls, shining under the dim light in the living room.

Simon Forrester squinted and restrained himself from looking away.

He didn’t expect that the usually serious and measured Sienna had made two jokes in a row, teasing both him and herself.

"So," he stood up, bending slightly to look at her, his eyes dark and unclear, "do I look like your sugar daddy?"

His face was so close that she could hear his even breathing, so close that she could clearly see the fatigue under his eyes.

Sienna suddenly widened her eyes.

Just as she planned to reach out and push him away, he straightened up, coldly laughed, walked to the balcony, and suddenly slid the door open, letting the piercingly cold autumn wind flood in.

Sienna shivered, quickly sat up straight, pulled a blanket from the side over her bare knees and calves, and glared at him, "Why did you open the door? It’s freezing!"

Simon Forrester didn’t respond, just leaned against the door looking at her, half-smiling.

He didn’t speak, and neither did Sienna; they just faced each other, staring each other down.

The atmosphere hung tensely for a moment before Simon Forrester finally closed the balcony door again and slowly, calmly sat back down where he had been.

"Awake now? Can we talk seriously?"

Sienna pressed her lips together and didn’t answer.

"I heard you haven’t eaten, drank, or slept all day?"

"I haven’t had much of an appetite, but my sleep has been fine."

So, he transformed into "Cinderella Simon" in the middle of the night just to expose her well-fed and well-slept facade?

Hmph! What a cunning man!

Sienna shot him a sidelong glance, awkwardly slouched back into the sofa.

His neat and tidy fingers gently drumming on the sofa armrest, he watched Sienna for a moment, and said lightly, "State your demands all at once."

"Demands?" Sienna smiled brightly, revealing deep dimples on each side of her cheeks, "That’s called a ’reasonable request.’"

Simon Forrester raised an eyebrow at her, his eyes filled with amusement, "I suggest Lawyer Thornton drop the word ’reasonable.’"

That sentence practically implied—this is blackmail, don’t you have any self-awareness?

Sienna was secretly startled: Simon Forrester must have consulted another lawyer!

If he knew her demands were unreasonable, why did he always respond each time?
