CHAPTER 156: CHAPTER 155: SHARP-TONGUED (FIRST UPDATE)

The man’s deep voice came from the other end of the phone: "I saw your car. Which building are you in? What’s the unit number?"

Sienna Thornton was momentarily stunned but quickly thought that Simon Forrester couldn’t possibly follow her to Wrayhaven, so she casually gave the Raines Family’s door number. After saying that, she hung up the phone.

Jenna Raines happily said, "Did my brother-in-law come too?"

Sienna Thornton sneered coldly and didn’t respond.

Simon Forrester probably spotted a car similar to hers in some neighborhood in Brimfield. After half a month of no contact, now that he saw the car, he got all excited.

Sienna Thornton helped Melinda Linton to the sofa on the other side to sit down.

Seeing Felix Raines kicking back with smelly feet, acting like a lord while munching on seeds, made her upset. She walked up and loudly asked, "What were you yelling at my mom for earlier?"

Felix Raines raised his eyebrows and looked over.

Sienna Thornton stepped forward and questioned, "Don’t you know she can’t be startled after surgery? Why did you yell at her so loudly?"

"Pfft!" Felix Raines forcefully spat out the seed shells from his mouth, stood up, glaring at Sienna Thornton with muddy pea-sized eyes, "I just talk loudly! What’s the big deal? If you’re unhappy, all of you get out! That filthy old hag, seeing her pisses me off! Expecting me to speak softly and serve her? Dream on!"

The words "filthy old hag" triggered a rush of blood to Sienna Thornton’s head as past nightmares, like ghosts, ruthlessly choked her throat, making her need to tear it apart and fight it to breathe!

She charged forward, grabbed the seeds in front of Felix Raines, and threw them at his face, yelling, "I won’t let you get away with this tonight! You old beast!"

With that said, she was about to tear into Felix Raines.

Felix Raines was short and completely no match for the 1.7-meter Sienna Thornton. The last time Sienna returned to Raines Village, he caught her only because of the burly Jared Raines being present.

But today, without Jared around, Felix didn’t dare confront Sienna directly, retreating into the couch and shouting loudly towards the other side, "Lily! Lily!"

The fat woman eating a cucumber rushed up and shoved Sienna Thornton.

Though Sienna was tall, she was skinny, so with a push from the at least 200-pound woman, she immediately fell onto the sofa.

Melinda Linton cried beside her, "Enough! Stop fighting! We’re all family!"

Felix Raines rushed up, hurling curses at Melinda Linton: "It’s all your fault! Bringing such a scourge with you! Making my Raines Family peace impossible! You wretched old woman! Why don’t you just die?"

He jabbed Melinda Linton’s forehead, loudly berating, while Sienna Thornton wrestled with the fat woman beside her, trying several times to climb out of the sofa only to be pressed down again.

Melinda Linton’s cries, Felix Raines’ scolding, Jenna’s persuasion, and the fat woman’s dialect taunts mixed into a chaotic jumble, making Sienna Thornton’s head feel like it was about to explode.

In a rash move, she leaped from the sofa, pushed the fat woman outward, but only managed to move a few steps before being forcefully shoved back onto the sofa, with the woman even raising a fist to hit her.

At that moment, Jenna shouted excitedly, "Stop fighting! My brother-in-law is here! My brother-in-law is here!"

Everyone turned to the door upon hearing the shout, and Sienna Thornton looked over too.

Simon Forrester, clad in work attire—gray checkered summer suit, white French shirt, deep space gray tie, handsome features, though looking somewhat weary, was striding towards her.

Felix Raines was quick to greet him ingratiatingly, pulling him over, "Oh, my dear son-in-law, you’re here? Have a seat, have a seat..."

Before he finished speaking, Simon Forrester pushed him aside.

Simon briskly walked towards Sienna, pulling the fat woman off her, his gaze sharp like a knife as he scanned her up and down, barking sternly, "What do you think you’re doing?!"

"She bullied my dad!" The fat woman hid behind Felix Raines, waving her plump hand provocatively, "This is my home! What’s she doing here insulting people? Get out!"

Sienna Thornton jumped up from the sofa, fuming, "This house was bought with my money! You and Felix Raines should be the ones to get out!"

The woman didn’t believe her, retorting, "It’s my husband who bought this! It’s our wedding home! It’s under my name! You’re the one who should get out!"

"To hell with that!"

Sienna Thornton’s voice trembled as she rushed over to settle scores with Felix, "Used my money to buy a house for your wife? Bravo!"

"Enough!" Simon Forrester pulled her aside, "What’s the point of this noise?"

Sienna Thornton’s nostrils flared, her chest rising and falling.

She glared at Felix Raines, spat, "That was my money! Even if he wrote his own name, my mom should have half! Yet he wrote it under his daughter-in-law’s name! My mom’s left with nothing!"

"Let’s talk about this outside!" Simon Forrester lowered his voice, pulling her towards the door.

A fractious breath lodged in her chest, refusing to rise or fall, transforming into forceful grip through her hands as she twisted Simon’s arm, struggling to break free from his embrace.

Seeing she was about to fight Felix’s wife again, Simon felt a headache coming, stepped forward, and in one swift motion dragged her out the door.

She struggled hard, thumping his shoulders, pushing his chest, determined to free herself from him.

Unaffected, he took several steps down the stairs, heading straight for the car.

"Get in the car!" He opened the passenger door.

Sienna glared at him, "I’m not getting in!"

"What’s gotten into you?" Simon, clearly out of patience, both his face and voice showing a hint of anger, forcibly pulled her into the passenger seat.

Entering the car himself, he locked the door and slammed his hands against the steering wheel.

The thud startled Sienna, making her turn to him, "What’s your problem? Why are you mad at me?"

He asked coldly, "What’s the point of coming here by yourself? Wasn’t last time’s lesson enough for you?"

Sienna sat upright, refusing to look at him, stubbornly stating, "I came to see my mom! What’s it to you?"

"Not my concern? If I hadn’t arrived in time, wouldn’t you be beaten up by that woman by now?"

The remark triggered Sienna to scream, "She dares hit me? She dares lay a finger on me, I’ll have her jailed!"

Simon watched her, knowing she was on edge and words would be futile.

The two fell into prolonged silence.

Lately, a barrage of events unfolded, overwhelming Sienna, leaving her barely standing; she bravely resolved those challenges, yet now, found herself empty-handed, embroiled in a cold war with Simon again.

Since falling in love, Simon meticulously tended to her, coaxing her along, only to subject her to a half-month of emotional neglect and now, resorted to harsh words upon reappearance.

Struggling to adapt, Sienna instinctively questioned whether Simon still wanted to be with her.

Sniffing, she looked up, forcibly swallowing the wetness in her eyes, turning to push the car door open, trying to get out, only to find it locked.

She slapped the door hard, "Open the door! I want to get out!"

"Clear it up."

"What is there to say between us? I’m breaking up with you!" she shouted.
