CHAPTER 26: CHAPTER 26: ALMOST LOVERS

"Where are we washing?" Sienna Thornton curved a naive, clueless smile towards Simon Forrester.

"Asking when you know the answer?" Simon Forrester’s lips hinted at restraint, he slightly tightened his grip on Sienna Thornton’s arm, pulling her closer.

Maeve, who was waiting nearby, skillfully intervened: "How about getting Miss Thornton a more experienced female body therapist?"

Even a blind person could see that Mr. Forrester, who usually came alone, had brought a pretty girl in loungewear today, either in a relationship or not quite there yet. And the girl specifically requested David’s service, clearly a playful moment between her and Mr. Forrester.

Maeve repeated the question, but Simon Forrester raised his hand to stop her before she could finish.

"There’s no need, just settle the bill directly!"

...

Simon Forrester signed at the reception and quickly pulled Sienna Thornton into the elevator.

During the minute-plus ride from the fifth to the forty-eighth floor, Sienna Thornton cooperated fully.

At this moment, she crossed her arms and leaned against the elevator wall, her sharp gaze scanning Simon Forrester up and down.

He stood with hands in pockets, looking calmly at the changing floor numbers.

Appearing noble and abstinent.

Sienna Thornton stared at him for a moment, then laughed, "Why not let me shower over there?"

"Too expensive."

Hearing this, the laughter on Sienna Thornton’s face instantly turned to scorn.

She slowly straightened up, looking at his serious demeanor reflected in the shiny elevator walls, asked: "You, The Great Designer Forrester, are short of those few hundred bucks?"

As their eyes met in the reflection, Simon Forrester suddenly curved his lips, turned his face, and looked at her with a smile, saying, "Whether I’m short of money or willing to spend it, those are two different things."

Sienna Thornton retorted, "You’ve spent big, but fussing over this small change?"

"How is it small change? Whose money isn’t earned with hard work?"

"..."

With a "ding," the elevator stopped at Simon Forrester’s home.

He walked out first, and Sienna Thornton, relying on her crutches, followed behind him inside.

Without assistance, her movement was slower; almost stepping out of the elevator, its doors abruptly began to close again. Fortunately, she quickly placed her crutch horizontally to stop the doors from closing.

Recalling Simon Forrester’s unwillingness to spend more on hiring a caretaker, nor let Maeve come to help, resulting in her daily life becoming embarrassing, Sienna Thornton felt uneasy.

Hence, upon entering and seeing Simon Forrester heading to the study for overtime, she deliberately raised her voice: "I need a shower, you must help."

Simon Forrester halted, his body slightly paused, then turned to look at her, "How to help?"

"First, prepare the things for me, then assist me."

Seeing no objection from him, Sienna Thornton listed out everything she needed.

Soon, Simon Forrester found one tall and one short stool, along with two large plastic bags.

"Place the short stool in the shower, and the tall one outside," Sienna Thornton instructed at the bathroom door.

Simon Forrester complied; after placing the stools, he looked at the plastic bags in his hand, then at Sienna Thornton’s plastered leg, asking: "Are these bags supposed to go over your foot?"

"Is there a need to ask?" Sienna Thornton gave him a sideways glance, pointing with her crutch outside the shower area, "Stand over there and wait for me."

"Stand here?" Simon Forrester pointed to a spot where he could see everything happening inside the shower room, verifying again.

Sienna Thornton nodded, "I have to sit on that short stool first, then can put the plastic bag on."

Simon Forrester shrugged with a smile, stepping out from the shower room.

The guest bathroom was small, and with his imposing presence standing aside, the space felt even more cramped.

Sienna Thornton pressed her lips, carefully supporting herself with crutches as she walked into the bathroom.

If it wasn’t to make Simon Forrester agree to find someone to help, why would she spend so much time haggling with him?
