Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike
Chapter 36: The Floor Is Too Cold
CHAPTER 36: CHAPTER 36: THE FLOOR IS TOO COLD
Sienna Thornton reached out to feel Simon Forrester’s forehead, "You’re burning up, can you hear me?"
Simon Forrester didn’t respond.
Sienna guessed he might have lost consciousness due to the high fever compounded by other acute symptoms.
She tried to pull Simon over to the sofa to lie down, but due to her own limited strength and inconvenience, she couldn’t manage to get Simon up despite a few attempts.
Looking at Simon lying on the floor, Sienna was troubled, "Should I call an ambulance to take you to the hospital?"
She got up intending to get her phone from the room, but suddenly Simon tugged at the hem of her nightgown.
Simon slightly opened his eyes, his voice weak and slow, "Study, right drawer, medicine..."
Sienna hurried to the study and finally found two boxes of medicine in Simon’s desk drawer.
Holding the medicine boxes, she came back, patting Simon’s arm lightly, and asked softly, "Director Forrester, how do you take these two medicines? Do you take both?"
"One of each..."
Sienna quickly got up to pour some warm water. After carefully feeding Simon the two pills, she gave him a few sips of water.
Simon still had a bit of awareness, and after struggling to swallow the pills, his eyelids fluttered a few times before he tiredly closed them again.
Sienna had been living alone for years and had never dealt with a patient with a sudden acute illness, let alone one who was nearly six foot three, lean in clothes but muscular without.
Thinking it wasn’t right for Simon to just lie on the floor, and unable to muster the strength to pull him up, Sienna grew anxious.
"Reducing the fever is the priority!" She got up once more, returned to the room, and found four adhesive adult cooling patches, sticking them all over Simon’s forehead and the back of his neck.
She lightly pressed the cooling patch on his forehead and softly sought his opinion: "Director Forrester, with my foot like this, I can’t move you to the bed, and if you keep lying here, I’m afraid it will get worse. The floor is too cold."
Simon didn’t respond.
Sienna leaned down closer to his face, "Should I call 120 to send you to the hospital?"
Only then did Simon weakly lift his hand and waved it.
"You don’t like hospitals?" Sienna hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Otherwise, should we have Partner Reed come and carry you to bed?"
This time, Simon responded. He slowly opened his eyes to look at Sienna, light like fragmented diamonds spilling out of his deep eyes.
Noticing he might want to speak, Sienna leaned down even closer, almost lying on him.
"Do you want Thomas Reed to know you’re here with me?" His voice was hoarse and low.
Sienna suddenly lifted her head, "No way!"
Simon seemed to smile a little, reached up to touch the back of her neck, and pressed down firmly...
