Sienna Thornton cried out "Help!"

Jared Raines shouted, "Don’t think about running away! Did Mom secretly give you money? I’m going to search you!"

The villagers who came to watch the commotion whispered, "Felix’s eldest daughter is always doing bad things outside, really bad! See, she’s back to squeeze her parents’ hard-earned money... Felix is really unlucky to raise such an ungrateful wolf..."

Everyone treated Sienna Thornton as someone who returned home to plunder her siblings’ resources, a heartless ingrate, and no one extended a helping hand to her.

Sienna Thornton, seeing the situation, stopped calling for help, conserved her energy, and sparred with the Raines father and son.

She was taken by the Raines father and son to the main house, where Jared Raines cursed and demanded she hand over her luggage. Unable to resist, her luggage was turned upside down, but no money was found. Jared Raines then wanted to search her body.

Melinda Linton staggered out of the house and knelt down in front of Felix Raines: "Felix, for the sake of our many years of marriage, please spare my poor eldest daughter!"

Felix Raines kicked her aside, cursing viciously: "Haven’t I been good enough to you? When you married me with this baggage, I lived thriftily, raised her to this age, wasn’t that enough? But did she ever bear my kindness in mind? Has she ever come back to honor me, her father, after earning big money outside?"

Melinda Linton was powerless, crying as she crawled to Sienna Thornton’s feet.

Sienna Thornton burst into tears, wanting to squat down and hug Melinda Linton, but Jared Raines twisted her arms, leaving her immobile.

Just then, Jenna Raines came in from outside, and upon seeing the commotion, she immediately rushed over to help Melinda Linton up and took her back to the room.

Sienna Thornton took a deep breath, slightly calmed herself, then looked at Felix Raines with eyes as sharp as knives, ready to slice him to pieces.

"What exactly do you all want?" she asked coldly.

Felix Raines smiled, "Just waiting for you to say that."

He waved his hand, and Jared Raines immediately let go of Sienna Thornton’s hands and kicked a chair to her legs, gruffly saying, "Sit down and talk!"

Sienna Thornton sat down as told.

Felix Raines lit a cigarette; the cheap, crude smell made Sienna Thornton cough violently.

Through the white smoke, Felix Raines squinted his eyes and said, "Jared is twenty-five now, and it’s time for him to get married. You also know about the current bride price rates, without half a million, who would be willing to marry into a place like ours?"

Sienna Thornton said nothing, her lips curled into a faint smile, silently watching Felix Raines putting on airs.

Felix Raines took a drag on his cigarette and continued, "You also know you’re not my biological daughter, I raised you to this age, you’re now living glamorously outside, and won’t come back to honor me in the future. So, a fixed price, half a million! Give it and I’ll let you go!"

"You just said that the half a million is for the bride’s price?" Sienna Thornton asked.

"Of course it is."

"Wasn’t it three hundred thousand?" Sienna Thornton laughed mockingly, "Did the bride’s family raise the price, or are you trying to squeeze an extra two hundred thousand from me to spend?"

Hearing this, Felix Raines glared, and threw the still-burning cigarette butt at Sienna Thornton, yelling, "I said half a million, and that’s that! Are you giving it or not?"

"I can give you the half a million, but I need to confirm one thing first."

Hearing that Sienna Thornton was willing to give the money, Felix Raines’ face instantly changed to a smile, "What is it?"
