CHAPTER 60: CHAPTER 60: ESCAPE FROM DEATH

In the end, Felix Raines still came over.

The village chief, emotionally charged, demanded a settlement fee of five hundred thousand, or else no one would be allowed to leave.

Sienna Thornton naturally couldn’t agree to this, and her attitude was firm, but Simon Forrester agreed on her behalf, assuring the village chief that as long as they could leave, everything would be written off.

The village chief demanded the five hundred thousand be transferred to the village treasurer’s account. Simon Forrester instructed his accountant to transfer ten thousand from five different accounts to ensure the village chief received the money as quickly as possible.

After two hours of waiting, the village treasurer finally called, saying the full five hundred thousand had been received.

The village chief was overjoyed and released Sienna Thornton and the others.

Coming out of the village chief’s large house, Sienna Thornton pulled her coat tighter and took a deep breath of freedom.

She glared angrily at Felix Raines and loudly demanded, "Did you plan all along to take my money and have the village chief capture me?"

Felix Raines dodged the question, saying, "No, why would I do that? It was the village chief who heard you returned and demanded your capture..."

Sienna Thornton was so angry she wanted to hit Felix Raines, but Simon Forrester stopped her.

Simon Forrester looked tense and said, "Let’s leave here first and talk later."

Sienna Thornton came to her senses, "Thank you for everything during this time. I’ll find a way to repay you once we’re back."

Simon Forrester hesitated to speak further but ultimately said nothing more.

Back at the Raines Family, Sienna Thornton immediately went to see Melinda Linton. She found her sweater torn and Melinda crying non-stop.

Sienna wanted to take her away, but Melinda couldn’t leave her other two children and didn’t want to burden Sienna. She agreed to let Sienna come back to get her when it was time for her surgery.

Sienna Thornton had no choice but to pack her belongings and return to Brimfield with Simon Forrester and Maeve.

Before getting in the car, Jenna Raines came out, eyes red, and chased after Sienna, asking, "Sister, I’m afraid the village chief will capture me. Can I go with you?"

Sienna was hesitating when Simon Forrester got out of the car.

He wore sunglasses, making it hard to see his expression. "Don’t worry, someone will soon take care of the village chief."

Without waiting for Jenna to respond, he helped Sienna into the car.

The silver-gray Urus revved its engine and sped away, kicking up the dirt and dust on the ground. Jenna Raines rode her bicycle, following all the way to the village entrance until she could no longer see the silver-gray car.

Once they left the confines of Raines Village, Sienna Thornton sighed in relief.

Seeing she seemed okay, Maeve asked, "That fool didn’t do anything to you, did he?"

Sienna Thornton took off Simon Forrester’s coat, pointed to her tattered sweater, and said, "He tore my clothes, but I managed to kick him in the balls."

Maeve laughed heartily, "Even with a cast on one leg, you’re still this fierce."

"Exactly," Sienna Thornton’s face reflected the relief of having narrowly escaped, "No matter what, I have to thank you all for saving me, especially Director Forrester."

She looked into the rearview mirror, meeting Simon Forrester’s gaze and didn’t look away for a long time.

Seeing this, Maeve raised an eyebrow and smirked. She took out two marriage certificates from her coat pocket, tossing one to the front seat and handing the other to Sienna Thornton.

Sienna snapped back to reality, flipped it open, and was surprised, "What’s this?"

"Your marriage certificate with him!" Maeve laughed.
