Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike
Chapter 62: The True Fragrance
CHAPTER 62: CHAPTER 62: THE TRUE FRAGRANCE
"High school classmate," Simon Forrester said casually, "he’s a government official."
Sienna Thornton wasn’t stupid. How could a government official handle such matters? She turned to look at Maeve.
Maeve handed over her phone and lowered her voice, "Former Party Secretary of Z City."
Sienna understood immediately and laughed, "Director Forrester sure has impressive connections!"
She actually knew that, throughout history, officials and businesspeople are intertwined. For the Forrester Family to securely hold the position of the city’s wealthiest, how could they lack connections?
For a commoner like her coming from a poor and remote area, Simon Forrester was like a lofty snow lotus on the Tibetan plateau. Normally, she couldn’t even get close, but because of a favor she did for someone equally affluent, Thomas Reed, and that extortion case, she ended up with this bizarre connection to Simon Forrester.
Besides, rashly stepping on a snow lotus growing on a cliff could easily lead to a shattering fall.
Sienna looked down at her own dirty plastered right leg and chuckled self-deprecatingly, indeed, it was a fracture.
Returning to Brimfield, seeing that Sienna had a tough time lately, Simon allowed Maeve to stay and accompany her.
Maeve helped Sienna bathe and wash her hair, cooked meals for her, and then they snuggled in bed chatting.
Hugging Maeve’s slender and familiar body, Sienna sighed, "It was really despairing being taken away yesterday! Maeve, thank you!"
Maeve hugged her back, "It was mainly Simon Forrester. He really went through a lot to rescue you. On the way, we almost had a car accident."
"What?" Sienna was startled, "But his driving skills are really good! How could that happen?"
"No matter how good your driving, when you’re anxious, accidents can happen."
Sienna fell silent, after a moment, she muttered, "I should find an opportunity to properly thank him."
"That’s a must."
"But what should I buy him?" Sienna was troubled, "He’s so rich, isn’t he lacking anything?"
"Then ask him!" Maeve pinched her butt, "If he wants you, just give in!"
Thinking of Simon Forrester’s incredible physique, Sienna burst into laughter, "You know, he really has a great body! And... his nipples are pink! So sensitive that just touching them with a towel gets a reaction..."
Maeve squinted at her, "Why were you touching him with a towel?"
Sienna then recounted to Maeve how she spent the whole night taking care of Simon Forrester when he was sick.
Maeve pondered, "He’s had a rough time lately, managing such a big architecture and design office and taking care of a troublemaker like you. No wonder he suddenly fell ill."
Sienna gave an awkward smile, finally concluding, "I used to think he must have a terrible temper, but getting to know him only refreshed that impression. His temper is truly bad! But I can tell he has a soft heart."
Maeve said, "Isn’t that just like Zion during freshman year? At that time, you took his first place, and on the surface, he seemed to hate you to death, never giving you a good look. And what happened in the end?"
Sienna kept quiet, sliding under the blanket.
"In the end, he was the first to confess to you," Maeve said, "So, Simon Forrester is ’true fragrance’ for you, huh?"
Sienna: "..."
The two chatted until midnight before falling asleep. As Maeve had a notification around noon the next day, she got up at nine. When she was about to take Sienna’s dirty clothes from last night to the guest bathroom to throw them away, she found the clothes basket was already empty.
She headed to the balcony and saw Simon Forrester hanging up clothes, including the ones Sienna changed out of the day before.
Understandingly, she smiled and asked, "Mr. Forrester, not working today?"
"There’s not much going on at the office recently, so I took the day off."
Maeve elongated her tone, saying "Oh" with a smile in her eyes, "I have things to do, so I’ll head off now. I’ll leave my dear Sienna in your care."
