Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike
Chapter 64: Masochist
CHAPTER 64: CHAPTER 64: MASOCHIST
Simon Forrester chose a sci-fi movie to watch and asked Sienna Thornton if it was okay. Sienna, who just wanted to go in and sleep, agreed without even looking at the poster.
But unexpectedly, the movie was quite good. Not only did Sienna not fall asleep, but she also watched it with great interest.
She casually picked up the Coke beside her and took a sip. Before swallowing the cool, fizzy liquid, she suddenly heard the man sitting to her left say in a deep voice, "You’re drinking my Coke."
Sienna was startled.
At that moment, a bright shot from the movie flashed by. She clearly saw that the drink holder on Simon Forrester’s left side was completely empty.
She held the sip of Coke in her mouth, unable to swallow or spit it out. The fizz was constantly tickling her palate.
Her face turned red as she gathered all her strength to swallow the large mouthful of Coke, choking some into her windpipe and causing her to cough uncontrollably, looking quite embarrassed.
Simon Forrester handed over a tissue.
She took it and apologized, "Sorry for drinking your Coke."
"No worries." Simon kept his eyes on the screen, the colorful lights from the movie casting all sorts of dazzling reflections in his deep-set eyes.
Sienna felt like she was seeing things—otherwise, why would she think she’d seen him smile just now...
Would someone actually be happy about having their Coke drunk?
Because she’d had too much Coke, Sienna ran to the restroom two or three times in the middle. And because her mobility was limited, Simon Forrester assisted her each time.
She relieved herself inside while Simon stood waiting outside, with her bag slung over his shoulder.
As girls passed by, they all glanced at him a few times and then turned to their companions, blushing, "Wow, that guy standing outside is so handsome! Such a great demeanor! Too bad he has a girlfriend..."
Sienna was at the sink washing her hands and, hearing this, guessed they were definitely talking about Simon.
She toyed with her hair in the mirror, her smile teasing, "What a devilish man, charming wherever he goes..."
She finished washing her hands, leaned on her crutches to go out, and saw the tall and perfectly built Simon Forrester waiting with her bag. Suddenly, she felt apologetic.
This man was really quite nice to her. What she did to him before was really uncalled for!
She walked over and softly said, "I’m ready. Let’s go."
Simon didn’t say anything, still carrying her bag, walking quietly by her side. When they approached the steps, he naturally extended his hand to support the side of her not holding the crutch.
They returned to the theater, the movie nearing its end, watched for less than ten minutes, and got ready to leave.
Being a weekday afternoon, there weren’t many people in the theater, so Sienna and Simon exited smoothly, one after the other.
They took the nearby elevator to the downstairs Japanese restaurant. Once there, Sienna realized it was just an ordinary place where the average spending didn’t exceed three hundred bucks.
As they sat down, she joked, "Knowing I’m treating tonight, you didn’t take the chance to fleece me?"
Simon took a sip of tea and quietly looked at her. After a moment, he asked, "Are you really a lawyer?"
"Hmm?" Sienna was puzzled, "What do you mean?"
Simon didn’t answer, continuing to drink his tea.
He felt that since Sienna returned from her hometown, she seemed stupider. If he hadn’t known her before, he could hardly have imagined that she’s a specialist in international trade dispute resolution.
Sienna caught on and elongated her "oh," "You think I’ve been too nice and easygoing with you these past few days, so much so that I don’t seem like a sharp lawyer?"
Simon slightly raised an eyebrow, not confirming or denying it.
