CHAPTER 78: CHAPTER 77: TIME WILL GIVE THE ANSWER

Simon Forrester, who was drinking water, coughed lightly, "It’s just a coincidence."

Maeve didn’t press further and instead asked, "I’ve really been missing Sienna these past couple of days. Can I stay with her for a night tonight?"

"Of course, feel free."

Perhaps because of Maeve’s presence, Sienna Thornton was much more lively than usual, and the two of them were telling nonsensical jokes. The light-heartedness and liveliness danced playfully across Sienna’s delicate and beautiful face.

Simon Forrester composed himself and took his gaze back, grabbed a tissue nearby to wipe his mouth, and said, "I have to go out for a while. Take your time eating."

"Alright, take care, Mr. Forrester." Maeve was polite, while Sienna Thornton remained silent.

Seeing Simon Forrester leave in a suit, Maeve guessed he was going to work and felt sure that Simon Forrester had planned to stay home to accompany Sienna, but because Maeve came, he only returned to the design firm after lunch.

"He’s such a busy person, it’s not possible for him to take a day off just because he’s had a bit too much to drink. It’s just you who would believe that. Clearly, he’s skipping work to accompany you because the caretaker isn’t at home," Maeve said.

Sienna Thornton scoffed, "He already said before, I’m not bedridden and don’t need someone to attend to me closely. There’s no way he’d skip work just because Auntie King isn’t here."

Maeve was too lazy to say more, figuring that time would tell.

That night, until Sienna Thornton was about to sleep, Simon Forrester hadn’t come back.

At noon the next day, when Maeve was leaving, Auntie King also returned. In the evening, Auntie King was cooking in the kitchen when someone knocked on the door. Sienna Thornton thought Simon Forrester might have drunk too much again and was being helped back, so she hopped on one foot to open the door.

The moment the door opened, Sienna Thornton, too shocked, was slapped by Mrs. Reed in the few seconds she was stunned.

Just as Mrs. Reed was about to land a second slap, Sienna Thornton managed to grab her wrist in time. Mrs. Reed was petite, even in high heels she was half a head shorter than Sienna. With this grip, Sienna directly swung her out of the house.

The bodyguards she brought immediately stepped forward to restrain Sienna Thornton from both sides.

Sienna Thornton shouted inside, "Auntie! Call the police!"

Upon seeing this, Mrs. Reed’s enchanting features twisted into a snarl as she ran toward the kitchen to stop Auntie King from making the call.

Auntie King quickly locked the sliding door of the kitchen securely and shakily called Simon Forrester from inside.

Unable to enter the kitchen, Mrs. Reed returned to stand in front of Sienna Thornton, who was being held by the bodyguards, and without saying a word, gave her another slap, so hard that it knocked Sienna’s face sideways.

Sienna Thornton was shocked for a moment, and seeing Mrs. Reed about to deliver a third slap, she loudly warned, "Didn’t I tell you last time? Illegal trespassing and intentionally harming others can get you at least three years. Are you set on going to jail?"

Mrs. Reed screamed, "Thomas Reed wants to divorce me! I can’t live anymore! Today, I’ll perish together with you!"

She pulled a butterfly knife from the bag she carried with her and pressed it against Sienna Thornton’s smooth cheek, sliding it back and forth with increasing ferocity, "I’ll peel off your face, and let’s see what you’ll use to seduce Thomas Reed then!"

Even though Sienna Thornton had seen her fair share of storms, the situation at hand still made her feel afraid. Fear was like countless needles, piercing through her feet and densely striking her heart.
