Pampered By My Fake Boyfriend's Brother
Chapter 386: Lin Yue, Are You Drunk?
CHAPTER 386: CHAPTER 386: LIN YUE, ARE YOU DRUNK?
At this moment, the attendant pushed the dining cart into the aisle, ready to enter the door, but seeing someone blocking the way, the attendant stopped and waited in place.
Shen Jingrou saw the attendant coming to serve food, and she smiled, "I’ll head out now, don’t want to interrupt you all."
An Yin’s eyes sparkled as she saw the person about to turn away. She wanted to say something but, noticing the man sitting beside her, pursed her lips. She intended to say goodbye but before she could open her mouth, the man’s deep voice sounded.
"Join us for the meal." Bao Shaojin finally spoke when he saw the girl looking reluctant to leave.
Shen Jingrou’s steps froze, looking at her brother not far away in disbelief. When she saw his expression was serious, not joking, she quickly responded, "Wait a minute, I’ll call Qingyun over too."
After saying that, she disappeared in a flash.
Qingyun?
Upon hearing this name, An Yin felt a bit uneasy inside.
"Coincidentally, we ran into Jingrou." An Yin turned her head, cautiously looking at the man and whispered.
"Hmm."
The man grunted lightly. It wasn’t really a coincidence; there were only so many places people in their circle go to eat, making it not very unlikely to run into each other.
"Mr. Bao, shall we start serving now?" The attendant pushed the dining cart in and went to the other side of the table.
An Yin lowered her head and in a deliberately lowered voice asked, "Should we order more dishes?" After all, there were two more people now, she thought to herself.
"Jingrou will order for herself." Bao Shaojin said calmly.
An Yin fell silent.
"We’re here." Shen Jingrou walked in front, seeing that the attendant had already placed the dishes on the table, she said calmly, "I’ve already ordered the dishes I usually like."
The attendant nodded, "Okay, Miss Shen."
Shen Jingrou turned her head to look at the young man behind her, "What about you, what do you want to eat?"
Gu Qingyun, from the moment he stepped into the private room, had his gaze fixed inside. Seeing An Yin sitting beside the man, he was about to greet them when he heard Shen Jingrou’s question. His expression hurriedly shook his head, "I’m not picky, anything is fine, you decide."
"Alright then." Shen Jingrou sat down in front of An Yin at the table, noticing the young man beside her standing idly, she sighed, "Sit down."
"Okay." Gu Qingyun glanced quickly at the two people opposite him before lowering his head quickly again.
"Hello, Senior Gu!" An Yin greeted with a friendly smile as she saw him sit down.
"Hello." Gu Qingyun placed his hands awkwardly on his lap, gripping tightly. Faced with An Yin’s clear and pure gaze, a hint of embarrassment passed on his face. Then he noticed the man opposite glancing darkly at him, and he addressed him, "Mr. Bao!"
Bao Shaojin gave a light grunt, composed as ever.
Shen Jingrou, who was a few years older than Gu Qingyun, noticed his slightly flustered demeanor. She pretended nothing was wrong and continued to chat with An Yin.
Bao Shaojin occasionally took out his phone to glance at it.
Gu Qingyun sat upright the whole time, his eyes shifting among the three present people.
Once the dishes were all served, they began to eat.
When Shen Jingrou looked up, she saw her brother placing food from his chopsticks into An Yin’s bowl with apparent tenderness that surprised her.
The last time she called during New Year’s, An Yin was at her brother’s side.
Having been part of their social circle for so long, many ideas had become more cynical.
Since learning of An Yin and her brother being together on New Year’s Eve, Shen Jingrou found it hard to believe nothing had happened between them... or rather, no one would believe it at all.
In the middle of the night, a man and a woman alone together, just the thought painted a vivid picture. Shen Jingrou raised her head, brushing her forehead, trying to push those wild thoughts out of her head.
At the table, An Yin was eating intently, every dish seemed to suit her taste.
"Drink this bowl of soup after your meal." Bao Shaojin handed her a small white porcelain bowl, instructing her.
An Yin had just picked up a piece of braised pork to eat when she heard his words. She blinked and then nodded.
Bao Shaojin watched as her cheeks puffed up like a small blowfish, finding her adorably innocent and amusing.
Shen Jingrou and Gu Qingyun watching the scene before them both felt the same thought: perhaps they shouldn’t have come, they were indeed intruding on a couple’s intimate moment!
Shen Jingrou smiled helplessly, remembering the past impression her brother gave of being so rigid, too dedicated to work to care about romantic affairs, and not just that, his attitude toward women was indifferent. There was a time she thought he wasn’t even interested in women.
As the person in charge of the Bao family, countless beauties threw themselves at him, and yet at such a prime age, how could he truly remain unmoved?
In the end, he broke her perceptions; he genuinely showed no interest in the women around him and was ruthless to those who tried to climb into his bed.
Until then, those women with improper thoughts finally realized the reality.
In the spacious private room, each person was lost in their own thoughts.
Gu Qingyun didn’t eat much, and after putting down his chopsticks, he picked up his tea to take a sip. The lavish table spread of delicacies that he had never seen, let alone tasted before, made him feel like Grandma Liu entering the Grand View Garden, perceiving everything around as classy and elegant.
This meal was supposed to be his treat, as they’d helped him tremendously recently.
Thinking about his family’s plight, he lowered his head moodily.
The attendant at the door, noticing everyone’s empty tea cups, stepped forward promptly to refill them.
Faced with such considerate service, Gu Qingyun felt uneasy, and just as he was about to voice his discomfort, seeing everyone acting normally, he remained silent.
The attendant came to his side, holding a purple clay teapot, refilling his cup halfway.
"Thank you!" Gu Qingyun said awkwardly.
"You’re welcome." The attendant, taken aback for a moment, smiled and was about to withdraw when the door opened.
"Everyone’s here..." Lin Yue opened his mouth, but as soon as he saw where Shen Jingrou was sitting, his cold and hostile gaze turned straight to the person next to her.
Bao Shaojin saw the newcomer and only glanced at him before treating him like air.
An Yin, however, stared blankly at him, stopping her actions of spooning food into her mouth. It’s him... Jingrou’s brother-in-law!
"Quite lively here." Lin Yue sauntered nonchalantly to the round table, seeing a familiar-looking girl sitting beside Bao Shaojin. However, he wasn’t interested in Bao Shaojin’s affairs. Instead, the sight of Shen Jingrou sitting with a young man made him uneasy.
"Care to sit down for a bite?" Bao Shaojin reluctantly offered when he saw the other’s aggressiveness.
"Of course, it’s rare for everyone to gather." Lin Yue replied mockingly as he walked to Shen Jingrou’s side, "Sister-in-law, aren’t you going to introduce this young boy next to you?"
"Lin Yue, have you had too much to drink?"
