Pampered by My Secret Husband
Chapter 154: Stop fooling around, I don’t have time for you.
CHAPTER 154: CHAPTER 154: STOP FOOLING AROUND, I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR YOU.
Half an hour later, a hastily prepared but still abundant dinner was served.
Sophie Sullivan’s witches’ cuisine was all placed before her.
The scent of the food spread through the air.
It awakened the glutton in Sophie Sullivan’s stomach.
GURGLE, GURGLE...
Amelia Shaw paused while serving the soup. She seemed hesitant as she glanced at Thomas Shannon’s expression, then tentatively asked, "Thomas, why not let the maniac join us for dinner?"
"No need. She would rather starve than eat."
"Is that so? Then forget it..."
From Amelia Shaw’s regretful expression, an uninformed person might truly believe they shared a deep bond.
Even though they were adversaries, she had defended Sophie time and again in front of Thomas Shannon.
Sophie Sullivan wasn’t buying this act of the understanding benefactor.
She abruptly stood up. Amelia Shaw, startled by the sudden movement, flinched, and her hand trembled.
The hot soup sloshed out of the bowl.
It splashed onto the back of her hand, scalding her. Her face turned pale, and she gasped, sucking in sharp breaths.
"My apologies. It seems I startled you."
Sophie Sullivan approached Thomas Shannon and boldly sat down beside him. "Who says I’d rather starve than eat? Young Master, do I look like the type to make things difficult for myself?"
"MEOW."
Harry peeked his head out from Thomas Shannon’s embrace, extended his small claws, and touched her.
After testing the waters for a moment and sensing no threat, he grew bolder. He made a leap and pounced into Sophie Sullivan’s embrace.
His little head nudged against her a couple of times, and he stared intently at her.
"Don’t be a pest. I don’t have time for you right now."
Sophie Sullivan patted his little head, picked up her chopsticks, and began to eat as if no one else was there.
While eating, she kept nodding. "Not bad." She took another bite. "The meat is tender." Another spoonful. "The soup is juicy." Then, sampling something else, "Crisp and refreshing."
She commented on each dish. However, no one paid any attention to the scalding burn on Amelia Shaw’s hand.
Amelia’s eyes filled with tears of grievance. She put down her bowl and said, "Thomas, I’ll go take care of this..."
Thomas Shannon said coolly, "Charlie River, call the doctor."
"Yes, Young Master."
Amelia Shaw and Charlie River left the dining room together. Thomas Shannon propped his head on one hand, watching with amusement as Sophie Sullivan wolfed down her food.
"Weren’t you all dignity and pride earlier?"
"Can pride fill my stomach?" Sophie Sullivan rolled her eyes and snapped, "Stop staring at me. I’m afraid I won’t be able to control myself."
"What?" Thomas Shannon’s brow furrowed.
Sophie Sullivan pursed her lips. She didn’t tell him that if he kept staring at her, she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to resist the urge to beat him up!
Picking up his chopsticks, Thomas Shannon began to eat with refined elegance.
Compared to Sophie Sullivan’s ravenous eating, his manners were a masterclass in upper-class etiquette.
She finished her meal and her drink.
Sophie Sullivan put down her chopsticks, picked up a napkin, and leisurely wiped the corners of her mouth. "Thank you for the reward, Young Master. I’ve finished eating. Goodbye."
"Wait."
Sophie Sullivan put down the napkin. "Is there anything else, Young Master?"
"Was it good?"
"It was so-so."
Thomas Shannon reached out, his cool fingertips pausing briefly at the corner of her mouth.
Sophie Sullivan frowned. Looking down, she saw a glistening Millie on his fingertip. She looked away, embarrassed.
"You ate my dinner, so you have to pay the price."
Sophie Sullivan was speechless. "..."
Indeed, there’s no such thing as a free lunch!
"Come to my bedroom." Thomas Shannon chuckled, taking Harry from her embrace.
The man stood up, his distinguished figure disappearing from the dining room.
Sophie Sullivan was speechless. "..."
Bastard!
